Chapter 19 - One Month And A Blood Oath{19}

Samaelia

_________

"Everything bursted into flames and you passed out. Water covered every inch of your body. Your skin glowed with a silver hue and your eyes, your eyes had burned a deep phlox purple colour.

Vines stretched out from the ground and coiled around you"

"I heard these faint whispers saying something along the lines of 'Born to the wings, She has a gift. Some say it's a curse, Silver hair and gilded . Like a full moon in the verse, Find..."

"Find what?"

"I didn't hear the rest because your body floated and levitated in the air."

"Go on"

"The forest creatures all came out to you but didn't get too close because there was a python with red and black scales wrapped around your body and it laid it's head at your feet."

"I tried to get close but there was this force that kept pushing me backwards and when I tried too hard, I crash landed and broke a few trees with my body and boy did it hurt."

"Nothing changed for the first three weeks and five days. And then two days back there was this burst of energy from within your chest and you screamed silently, all the trees shed their leaves and sprouted phlox colored leaves"

"Phlox huh?" Amusement dancing across her eyes.

"Yes, There's something that bothers me though" With a puzzled look on his face he leaned slightly closer to her, sniffing the air around her.

"Why are you sniffing around like a dog? Have you gone bonkers or something?" Samaelia almost screamed, with an ireful look on her face.

"It's your scent. It...changed" he mumbled with a skeptical look on his face.

"What do you mean my scent changed? Do I smell bad?" She hadn't taken a shower yet but that shouldn't guarantee that she would smell bad. Right?

"I didn't mean it like that. You used to smell like cherry blossoms with a hint of minty vanilla and lemon but now it's more...alluring, more addictive."

"So what do you think I smell like now?"

"You smell like a mix of lavender, lilac and sea breeze and if I'm not mistaken there's a hint of vetiver and sandalwood."

"So basically you're saying I smell like some sort of grassy candy?"

"No, more like an Omega in heat, like an aphrodisiac. Come closer let me check something"

"Ugh okayyy. Just don't sniff me like a dog sniffing wet clay again." Scrunching up her face so as to emphasise her distaste.

Shifting slightly closer to him, she craned her neck forward and nodded once, giving him permission to sniff her.

He edged forward until he was five inches away from her neck. Just as he had described it, she smelled heavenly, intoxicating even.

Loosing himself to the scent that gripped him and pulled him closer, beckoning him to bury his nose in the crook of her neck and take a huge breath in, to fill his thirsty lungs with a refreshing drink of her scent. He answered the call and edged forward.

One inch closer to her neck he went, and a sudden blast reverberated from her body, throwing him across the huge kitchen and slamming him into the wall. unfortunately, shattering it in the process, breaking it down and turning it to rubbles.

"Sam!" Samaelia screamed. Rushing out of her seat to help him up.

"This is exactly what happened the last time I tried to get close to you back in the forest."

"I'm sorry Sam. I don't know how that happened. Come on, give me your hand so I can help you up"

Wheezing, he stretched out his hand to her. As her fingers made contact with his, a sharp hiss was heard. A tail wrapped around his arm and slammed him into the ground, further damaging the dinning room he landed in.

"Fuck! Elia stop! You're going to kill me!" He gritted out through clenched teeth. His body in too much pain to be any louder.

Stumbling back in stupefied shock, she traced the tail up her arm and on her shoulder the head of a snake, black and red, just like he had described, rested leisurely on her left shoulder.

She screamed in fright, loosing her footing and tumbling down, closing her eyes and bracing herself for a nasty fall that never came.

"I thought you were just joking Sam. I swear, I don't know where this snake came from!" She exclaimed in fright.

'Oh please, stop being soo dramatic, mistress. I already gave him multiple warnings before, I don't like him!' She heard a voice in her head.

"Who said that?"

'It is I, mistress'

"Mistress?!"

'Yes, this humble one is honored to call you mistress, mistress!'

"It's kind of weird having a conversation in my head, and with a snake at that. I think I'm finally going crazy" she giggled softly, completely forgetting her friend on the floor.

'I am only but a snake at birth and death, mistress. I can take whatever form you see fit at anytime but I must first swear a blood oath of my loyalty to you again.'

"Again? Have we met before?"

'Yes, in another lifetime, aged far beyond the mountains that bleed into the southern seas of this world.'

"Oh, okay. So you're saying once we complete this blood oath thingy I can will you any form I see fit?"

'Yes, mistress.'

"Why? Why would you want to swear loyalty to me?"

'I've been twined by fate to protect and guide you through many lifetimes, and this one is no different.'

"Oh, so you're my babysitter!"

'Something like that'

"Alright. So how do we do it?"

"Lia? Who are you talking to?" Sam asked, Scrunching up his face in misplaced confusion.

"My snake, dummy!"
