"I just remembered that I have a little business in the cafeteria of building B. I'll catch up with you in class later."
"Ohh cafeteria, can I join?"
A gentle pat on the head signaled Zeyn's uncertainty about how to respond. If given the choice, he would certainly prefer to be alone, but on the other hand, he needed to remain cautious. The mysterious messages and phone calls he had received yesterday were just too suspicious. That's why he leaned toward solitude and didn't want anyone else involved.
"I'm not sure..."
"Why? Is there something going on, if you don't mind me asking?" Kriss inquired, curious.
"I actually don't know."
"What?" Kriss furrowed his brow, trying to make sense of this confusing situation. "You don't know what's going on, but you have to go alone?"
Zeyn nodded slowly. "That's not exactly what I meant. It's more of a... uh, personal matter. I just think I'd be more comfortable handling it on my own."
