Chapter 9 - His Pink Obsession

..

Staring up at the gigantic building in front of her, Luna hesitated, uncertainty flashing through her eyes.

It was the Shen's headquarters.

The Shen brothers, known among the country as the Trinity. Three brothers, all into different fields of life, and all had their companies and buildings around China and the world.

The oldest, ShenYi, a world class chef in the food field, owning top tier restaurants and food chains.

The second, ShenYu, a world ranking CEO in the business field, controlling flourishing businesses.

And the goofy youngest, ShenYan, founding an art company, various museums and game companies, the tech guy of the three.

But the 'SHEN', (the words artistically and boldly designed on the building that towered over her), was the one building the three brothers co owned and managed, the majestic structure housing three of their areas of expertise in one, three expert and flourishing companies joined to form one mighty masterpiece as it overlooked the beautiful city of Shanghai.

She knew she was out of place, it was obvious that even the cobblestones beneath her suede pink vans were out shining her and if both of them were placed for auction, the cobblestones would have way higher bids than her and will be chosen over her in a heartbeat.

They were no reporters around this building since not everyone could be granted entry unless they had the Shen's entry card, or the worker's pass.

Instead the entrance was guarded by fully armed securities in black outfits, their deadly glares speaking louder than the words  "stay out"

She could easily summon the courage and walk up to one of them, all while trying not to faint of fear, drop the cards off and run away, but she grew up not trusting people, she couldn't just hand a billionaire's credit card to a security personnel, it wasn't right.

So she took a deep breath, shrugging of the uncertainty, swallowing the lump in her throat and taking a step of faith as she slowly and cautiously approached the building.

'I'm not a criminal' she thought

'What could possibly go wrong?'

"Everything?" She whispered out, pausing in her tracks and pushing the terrifying thoughts away before proceeding, all scenarios of what could go wrong playing in her head.

Finally at the entrance, she was stopped by a hand blocking her way as the cold brown eyes of a security personnel stared her down.

"Your pass? His deep voice causing her to shiver involuntarily as she read his name tag

'Felix Liu'

"Your pass!!" A sterner request broke her thoughts as she shuffled through her hood, producing the Shen card.

His brown eyes scanned the card before he looked up, freckled face scrunching in question as he returned the card, going further to step out of the way and gesturing for his two subordinates to do same.

Luna's POV

I slid through the revolving front doors, letting out a breath too soon which hitched at the sight of the lobby.

The perfectly shining tiles that reflected the large crystal chandelier hanging from the top and surrounded by small, sparkling, ice shard shaped  ornaments that glinted, contrasting the golden decor of the gigantic pillars.

Getting over my awe and composing myself, I briskly made my way to the receptionist, my suede pink vans sounding in the quiet and almost deserted hall.

The receptionist, finally noticing my small fidgeting  form scrunched her makeup caked face in obvious disgust as she glared at me, her bloody red lips slitting open to spill out venom.

"You're obviously out of place..

"..what's a low class doing here?"

"How'd you even get in?"

"I remember your face, did you manage to seduce the security team to get in like you attempted with Sir Shen?" The words poured without remorse out of her mouth.

"I'm here to deliver something to Mr. Shen" I finally cut in, biting back a curse as my eyes remained on the floor.

"Even the delivery people look better than this" she pointed me out, her squeaky voice gaining volume and attention as a few workers began to listen in and slowly crowd the lobby.

"Besides, nothing is delivered directly to him"

"This should be" courageous me challenged, showcasing the black card and observing as her confusion and rage filled face gaped at the credit card.

"How did... How did you.. Did you steal it!?" She jabbed an accusing finger at me, abandoning her seat behind the counter.

Deciding to play along with a smug look, I fired back "technically, I found it, also, would I be here trying to return it if I did steal it?" I concluded with a shrug, enjoying the way her face contorted with multiple reactions as she demanded.

"Hand it over!" Reaching for the card  "I'll give it to him"

I was quick to retract my hand, tucking the card in the safety of my jean pocket, and tilting my head slightly "I can't possibly do that, for all I know, you could be the thief"

And she exploded in a raging fit as I expected, watching in amusement as she yelled.

"You scum of the society! Security!"

At her call, two men in blue security uniforms ran to the center of the chaos as she ordered them.

"Get this filthy low class out of here!"

Obeying her, my shoulder was grabbed and I reacted by letting my elbow collide with the person, accidentally breaking a nose.

"Oh my God!" I turned to see the guard pinching his bleeding nose and apologizing.

"I'm so sorry, it was a reflex action"

"Drag her out!!" The receptionist shrieked and the second guard proceeded to grip my arm, about to pull me like instructed when a sharp voice ended the ruckus.

"What is going on here?!"
