Chapter 13 - Grinding for 3rd circle.

Deep inside the Ant Queen's Nest.

The ant queen is worried. She has now lost connection with more than 5 thousand worker ants and even 5 elite soldier ants... "Just what the hell is happening?! Did the humans really find out my nest?! What the hell?! How is that even possible?! I haven't revealed my presence yet!"

"General! I Command you to personally investigate and solve this problem as soon as you can!", Yelled the ant queen.

"yes. It shall be done.", said the general.

After Roaming the dungeon's 2nd floor for about 5-6 hours, I decided to go even deeper. I found the route to go deeper quite quickly, thanks to the Guide and all of the FP I saved up, farming ants.

Whenever I ask for directions from the Guide, it imports the route directly into my brain. It's like it imports a memory into my head, and everything on the route looks extremely familiar to me. It's like I've already been there many times before.

In the 3rd floor, The ants were even bigger and had even more defense. And most importantly, I found that some ants could use ranged attacks. They weren't quite magic, but they could shoot some kind of acid at me. It wasn't really a problem with Atmospheric barrier, but I knew that I had to become even stronger now, because if a boss monster with similar properties were to find me, It would be difficult for me to win.

I started to look for "Distilled Obsidian". It was a rare mineral that appeared in depths of about 1500 feet underground. The 3rd floor of the ant queen's dungeon was about 1700 feet deep underground, it would take me about 1 and a half hours to reach the surface from here.

I couldn't ask the Guide for the location of an ore or any items. It just responded with "Query Invalid!". Maybe I didn't know the exact data value (the item's name in the programming language) of the ores?

Thankfully though, It wasn't too difficult to find the Distilled Obsidian. It was a bluish-purple crystal-like rock. I found it in a tunnel dug by the ants. It took me about 2 hours of constant searching to find it.

The next thing was the Dark Mana Concentrate. And for that, I'd have to slay a boss. Seems like the 5 Giant ants I fought before weren't really considered as bosses. Real bosses have a little stone next to their hearts. It seems that they have some sort of compartment to hold the stone inside their body. This stone is the Dark Mana Concentrate. There are exceptions to this of course, but those exceptions are only Humans, Elves, Demons, Dwarves, Dragons, and high-level Undead Monsters (They have something called a 'Miasma Concentrate').

I haven't really asked the guide much about the different kinds of creatures in this world. But I do want to learn more about the 'Undead'. The magic in this world is heavily scientific, so the Undead must also have some kind of science or logic behind them... Anyways, that's a topic for another time.

The "Powdered Emerald" was simple and straightforward. I need some emerald and make it into fine powder. The problem was, that emerald is as rare as gold. The Guide wasn't of any help here either. Seems like this 'Guide' thing won't carry me though the entire world... I'll have to actually work and gather things myself.

I gave up on the powdered emerald for the time being, and went deeper into the dungeon, searching for a boss monster.

I was extremely careful about the whole thing, and barely made any sound.

I asked the guide for directions to go deeper. The guide imported another pathway into my head and I started to make my way down the 3rd floor, towards the 4th floor.

But... I didn't have to go all the way down to find what I was looking for.

On the way down, I saw something that looked like the incarnation of Myrmecophobia (the fear of ants.)

If I was afraid of ants, I would have definitely passed out of fear. It was an absolute behemoth of an ant, at least 5 times bigger than the Big ants I fought before. It had 2 pairs of mandibles, something that I thought wasn't possible. It's antennae emitted bright lights from their tips. It was also radiating some kind of gas. It was probably poison. I also fully expected it to have ranged attacks too. I had to be extra careful if I wanted to live.
