Chapter 15 - Chapter 15: Opposite But Complimentary

Loki and Rika passed through the crowd of people and entered one of the shops at the side of the road. As the bell of the door sounded, Loki and Rika entered and were greeted by the clerk who bowed upon seeing them. They looked around to choose clothes and when finally decided on which to wear, Loki entered the fitting room and put his new clothes on.

As Loki came out he was wearing cream-colored long sleeves folded to his elbows and a black blazer. He was wearing black pants with chains hanging on the right hips which were gently ringing in his every step. On both of his hands were leather wristbands, covering his forehands and a pair of fingerless brown gloves. He also wore black leather boots that covered up to the lower part of his knees. Unlike before, his attire had given him more 'nobility in the fantasy world' feel.

"What do you think?" Loki asked and stared at Rika who was looking at her with admiration. Loki brushed his bangs up, pronouncing his beautifully sculpted facial features.

"It fits you really well," Rika said while her eyes were feasting on Loki's new image.

Loki walked forward. "Good." He said and stood in front of Rika.

Then, the clapping of the two clerks standing next to Rika sounded while staring at Loki with their amazed gazes.

"Mister, you look so dashing and gorgeous... I am certain even if you wear a rug, the rug will look like very expensive clothes if you are the one wearing it." The clerk with cat ears said, ignoring the other clerk who was pinching her but couldn't stop her. "You are so handsome." She added with suppressed excitement in her voice.

Loki stared at the clerk and smirked while staring directly into her eyes. "Thanks."

The clerk moaned, fell to the ground, and turned unconscious while the other one tried to wake her up by shaking her.

'Umm? Is she alive? I hope so...' Loki thought to himself and turned his gaze to Rika who was watching him while pouting her lips. "Is there a problem, Rika?"

Rika looked away. "Nothing..."

'Oh, look at my adorable fox lady... Cute.' Loki thought to himself. He weakly chuckled and kissed her lips. As their lips parted, his eyes dwelled on hers. "I am sorry, I couldn't help it... You were so cute."

Rika just stared at Loki with her red face. "You silly." She said as she narrowed her eyes while a gentle smile slowly formed on her lips.

Then, another moan sounded which came from the clerks.

"I wish I was her. I want a handsome man to kiss me and call me cute too."

"Stand up already."

Loki faced the clerks who were already standing while watching with delight on their faces. "I am taking this."

After that, Loki and Rika spent the rest of the day going to various spots of the capital, from grass parks to entertainment zones with different kinds of shows like puppets and elemental magic shows. They walked around holding each other's hand, and almost didn't get separated from each other throughout their stroll—except when eating.

They enjoyed each other's company, and they complemented each other. Loki's nonchalant personality went really well with Rika's cheerful and sweet personality. And even though Loki was not keen on showing it, he enjoyed Rika's company very much. And the next thing they knew, the day was about to end and time flew so fast.

"Believe me, it tastes good. The hardest part is the first bite, but once you've got a taste of it for the first time... You would never stop wanting more." Rika said as she walked toward the scenery of the sea, where the sun was slowly descending. She was holding a stick with barbecued boar eyes in her hand.

"Yeah, I am trying," Loki said and took the first bite of the boar eye on a stick. Then, while chewing, he slowly nodded. "Okay, it's better than I expected."

"See?" Rika said and jogged toward the stone railings at the boundary of the park and the sea. She sat on one of the stone benches scattered around. "Come on, Loki, this is the perfect spot to see the view of the sunset." She happily exclaimed while waving her hand at Loki.

Loki sat next to Rika and found her watching the slowly descending sun with a smile on her lovely face. The horizon around them turned orange as an indication of the end of the day.

"Back when we were younger, me, Ariel, and Lian used to come here very often. And this bench was where we sat because it was at the very center of the park." She paused as she recalled the past. "Back then, they used to call me big sister Rika because I was four years older than them... But now, I look younger than them, so they are no longer comfortable calling me that. You humans really mature fast, don't you?"

Rika exhaled and darted her bright eyes at Loki. "This was the place where we finally decided to become adventurers and go on adventures together after seeing adventurers hanging out in this place."

"So, Milfy's headache started here, huh? This place is the one at fault." Loki said with a teasing tone.

"Don't say it like that... Although you are correct."

Loki draped his hand on Rika's hips and gently pulled her toward him. He bit the final piece of the eye of the boar and stared at the scenery of the sun. As he turned her eyes to Rika, he found her looking at her with her enlarged eyes while her face was red.

"What?"

"Until today, I didn't know that you could be sweet too. You are quite serious and rarely show any soft emotion." Rika said as she leaned her head on Loki's shoulder.

'That's only a front, lady, I am a big softy inside.' Loki thought to himself.

"I am glad you are like this to me, Loki," Rika said softly.

"Of course, because you are mine," Loki replied.

Rika looked up and smiled sweetly. "Yes. I am yours."
