"Loki Morningwood... Class S Rank."
A moment of silence occurred throughout the room as all of them stared at Loki who was just standing next to the table.
'What the fuck just happened?' He asked himself. However, his face remained unchanged, his stoic front managed to hide his real emotion. He slowly nodded. "Not bad." He said nonchalantly despite screaming curses inside his head.
The roaring sound of screams of the adventurers sounded throughout the place. Many of them stood up and clapped, there were also some who raised the cup of booze they were holding. Standing near him were Rika, Lian, and Ariel clapping their hands.
Then, the whole crowd rushed toward Loki and started to ask him to join them while offering him good deals but Loki didn't show any interest... After all, he had chosen which party he wanted to join. In order to escape from the adventurers, Loki, Rika, Ariel, and Lian had to sneak, and as they did, the adventurers were left in surprise because Loki and his new party disappeared out of nowhere.
A few meters away from the guild hall, Loki and the others appeared on the side of the road.
"Woo, I thought we would not be able to escape from them," Rika said as she put her hand on her hips. "That situation escalated rather too quickly."
"From indifferent adventurers to a crowd of thirsty mobs in a matter of seconds," Ariel said. "To possess such great power really can attract a wide variety of people. But I would say that I didn't expect you to bring such a powerful person to our party, Rika."
"Even I was surprised, I knew he was strong, I just didn't expect him to be that strong," Rika said.
Loki, on the other hand, stood beside them. 'I just woke up this morning and decided to try adventuring and now I am a Class S rank adventurer and everyone is crowding at me and urging me to join them!' Loki walked forward. "Class S, huh?" He said using a baritone voice. "Now, where are we going to do our quest?"
"Hmm... Well, Loki, the thing is, we only have Class D Ranked quest," Rika said and opened the quest paper. "You are too strong for this quest and for this party, to be honest, we would understand if you decide to go with powerful parties."
Both Ariel and Lian remained silent and looked away, assuming that Loki was going to agree to what Rika said.
"I think you are misunderstanding something, Rika," Loki said and stared right into Rika's eyes. "I said I want to be an adventurer and join your party, and I don't remember saying I want to join a party filled with powerful adventurers... I won't go with any of those parties even if they offer me the full reward of every quest." Loki said and gently took the paper from Rika's hands. "60 Brown Boars' tusks... This sounds doable."
"Are you sure, Loki?" Rika asked, her eyes slowly widening.
Both Ariel and Lian's faces lit up while staring at Loki, looking at their quest request.
'Are you serious? The other parties are sausage parties! I won't choose those over this party with three beautiful girls in it! If I did that it would be like throwing the lottery ticket after winning the jackpot!' Loki thought to himself. He put his hands down and stared at the three staring at him with admiration in their eyes. "Are we going or not?" He asked with a gentle smirk on his lips.
"Let's go!" Rika exclaimed.
The four of them traveled into the forest of Fersfak. It was located in the western part of Satirica. It was a massive forest filled with thick trees and rivers. Rika led the way into the forest while Loki, Ariel, and Lian followed after her. They searched throughout the forest until they found the place where a certain type was inhabiting.
Rika poked out her eyes to see the nearby monsters, she was behind a massive tree. "That's it... Those are brown boars."
Then, Loki, Ariel, and Lian poked their faces out and looked at the monster Rika was referring to.
What could be seen from the distance was a group of monsters consisting of five two-meter-tall boars equipped with thick hard skin and tough muscles. They were feeding on tall grasses. Each of them had four tusks located at the side of their mouths. And just like what their appearance was indicating, they were deadly.
Ariel knelt and watched the five boars attentively. "This species of monster tends to wander alone, we are lucky that we found 5 of them right away. However, it would be dangerous to fight them all at once, we should wait until they dispersed before attacking them." She suggested as she slowly pulled her arrow.
"Or not," Loki said as he sat next to Ariel, brushing each other's shoulders. "I wanted to test something, and I hope you don't mind if I take this group of boars as my test subjects." He said as he stared into Ariel's eyes.
"If you have something to make this quest easier, why not? But as long as you don't destroy their tusks, we won't have any problem." Ariel said and smiled. "Furthermore, I want to see what you are capable of."
"Thanks," Loki said and stood up. He walked toward the five brown boars while both of his hands were in his sweater's pockets. "Oy," he said and took the attention of the five boars.
Then, the five boars grunted and immediately assumed their battle stance. They stomped to the ground and waved their heads, flailing their sharp tusks.
'The ability that Lord Lak gave me would bend the very fabric of reality based on my will. Based on my observation, it is exactly doing that with or without my command,' he mumbled and stood several meters away from the boars. 'I still can't control the passive effects that are being automatically activated without my awareness... But the good thing is, all of them are happening to my advantage.' He aimed his index finger at the boars like a gun. 'And the thing I have control over... Has no limit.'
The five boars rushed toward Loki.
Seeing the five boars rushing toward him, Loki just smirked. "Rail... Gun."
What came after was a thunderous roar of electrical current that blasted the five brown boars into nothingness. The raging thunder that came out from Loki's index finger just lasted for two seconds and disappeared. What was left from the body of five monsters who had thick skins and muscles were just their tusks who were unscathed despite the complete decimation of the boars' bodies.
'To have control over logic and reality and bend them to my advantage and desire. The limit of what I can and can't do solely depends on my imagination,' Loki whispered as he stared at his index finger. 'I know that it is already too late to say this but... I think I just became the luckiest man alive.'
