Chapter 6 - Chapter 6: Red Fox

Due to his routine back on Earth, Loki woke up early in the morning and jogged around the massive mansion that Milfy owned. He looked around the spots of the mansion and ended up in the massive garden with tall green walls like a maze. He put his hands on his hips and began stretching.

"Getting tossed in this world without a choice is not bad at all. Everything is sailing smoothly." He said to himself and raised his hands and stretched them. "I wonder how long it will last."

However, Loki's attention when his eyes caught a silhouette sneaking into the walls of the garden, crouching while trying not to make any sound. Loki narrowed his eyes upon seeing the familiar face. It was Rika, seemingly hiding from something while looking in every direction—all directions including where Loki was standing.

Loki tilted his head. 'What is she doing?' He asked himself as he tilted his head. Then, he walked toward Rika. As he approached, Rika had not seen him even though he was already standing behind her. "Oy."

"Ah!" Rika exclaimed and jumped out from where she was hiding. The surprise on her face transformed into a face of relief upon seeing Loki standing. She put her hand on her chest and chased her own breath. "Oh, you scared me. I didn't notice you."

'I was literally standing in the middle of an open space, Lady. Huh... You could not see me, huh?' Loki said and walked forward. "What are you doing? Why are you sneaking like a burglar?"

"I'm sorry, but I can't tell you, Loki," Rika replied.

A smirk emerged on Loki's face. "Really? Fine, then. And I hope you don't mind if I tell the maids and the butlers that you are here." Loki said and darted his eyes toward the nearby maids and butlers. "They seem to be looking for something, maybe I can help them find it."

"Alright, I will tell you, but please don't tell them that I am here," Rika said with a panicked voice while looking in the direction of the maids. "You see, Lady Milfy ordered them to keep an eye on me while she is sleeping... and I am trying to sneak out."

"You are quite stubborn, I see," Loki said and nodded.

"Lady Rika? Where are you?" The sound of the voices and butlers sounded right behind them. Two of those maids stood right in front of Rika and stared right at where she was standing.

"Ah... They found me." Rika said while pouting her lips.

"No, they didn't," Loki said.

"Lady Rika?" Shouted the maid as she walked away from Loki and Rika, finding nothing.

"How did you do that?" Rika asked with amusement in her eyes.

"Magic. But mostly thanks to you." Loki said. "Now that I think about it, what is your relationship with Milfy? You two don't seem like sisters because you don't have any resemblance other than the fact that both of you are fox girls, and you are calling her Lady Milfy so I don't think that's the case."

"Are you interested in her?" Rika asked with a smile.

Loki paused for a second. "She is interesting. Now, answer my question in exchange for helping you hide."

"Hmmm... Sure. Lady Milfy is my grandma's sister." Rika answered.

"She looks too young to be your grandma's sister, she  looks like she's just in her mid-20s," Loki said.

"Yes, but she's already 169 years old. For you humans, that's already old, but that's not the case for us." She raised her index finger. "Even for me, I am already 26 years old despite looking a little bit younger."

"I see. That's quite helpful to know." Loki said, nodding.

"I answered your question... I'll be leaving now," Rika said as she crouched and started to walk away but stopped when Loki grabbed her shoulder.

"Where are you going now?" Loki asked.

Rika looked back. "I am going to the Adventurers' Guild. I am an adventurer, however, Milfy doesn't like that dangerous life for me, so she's not allowing me. So, don't tell her please."

"I won't. But bring me with you." Loki said. 'I need to practice my magic ability and I need money... So.' Loki thought to himself. 'Adventuring is a great way to accomplish those two... It's like hitting two birds with one stone.'

"Sure. Follow me." Rika said and crouched through the tall grasses.

Loki on the other hand, watched Rika while just walking normally. 'Man, this girl has a nice body, that's one of the most beautiful behind that I have ever seen in my life... She also has amazingly shaped hips.' Loki walked faster and walked beside Rika. "You know we can just walk normally, no one can see us anyway."

"Oh!" Rika stood up and smiled at Loki. "You have a very convenient skill. First, you can summon a very powerful creature, now you can hide us from any detection... You must have a very broad knowledge of magic."

'Nope. I'm just winging it and my skill is just doing it for a reason that any logic cannot explain.' Loki thought to himself. "Just enough."

"Tell me, what is the extent of this anti-detection skill? Does this skill hide me even if I scream so loud?" Rika asked. "And no one could hear me?"

'Yes. But please don't... That question alone already made this ability sound weird, and demonstrating it would just make it more questionable than it should.' Loki murmured but he was the only one who heard it. He slowly nodded. "Yes. But please don't scream."

"Oh! This skill is so cool! This skill can be very useful in adventuring!" Rika said with a huge smile on her lively face. "May I ask, are you already a registered adventurer?"

"No. But I would be glad if you could help me out." Loki answered. "It will be good if we are at the same party too."

"No problem. I will gladly help you." Rika walked faster. "We should travel faster now to reach the guild hall. Adventuring is fun!" Rika said while bouncing in the air, her red hair was swaying which made her already bright smile much brighter.

Loki on the other hand, watched Rika's back. 'I know it's fun... And I am glad I can finally experience it.'
