“I was, but only as Prince Joran. Frederika doesn’t exist in the Dark Faerie realm, so naturally she could have no claim to the throne. It’ll be going to my younger brother Prince Amori when he’s of age. I have a younger sister, Paranã, who’s a couple years older than him, but only males can inherit the throne in that society.”
“That’s lame. They should get with the times already.”
“You’re telling me.” They laugh. “Well, I don’t have an interest in royal life anyway, so their antiquated laws did me a favor.”
