Jhohan handed Mark the rifle after they finished checking the graveyard area. "Take this. You should learn how to use it. We need to search for those monsters in the possible hiding spots while there's still sunlight," she said firmly.
Mark replied, "Are you serious? I told you before that I don't know how to use it."
Jhohan's tone turned serious, "Are you deaf or just stupid? Didn't you get my point? I said you should learn how to use it."
Fernando took the rifle from Mark and began shooting the stones on top of different graves with perfect accuracy. Mark was amazed,
"Wow! How is it possible that you can shoot with such precision? Are you sure you're 98 years old and still human?" He checked Fernando's hands and even jumped to check his eyes.
Fernando laughed and felt tickled by Mark's childishness.
"Stop your nonsense, Mark. We need to eliminate those monsters as soon as possible," Jhohan said sternly.
Fernando gave the rifle back to Mark and gave him instructions on how to use it. "Now, your turn,Hold it firmly with the support of your shoulder, focus on the front sight, and aim at your target," he said.
Mark followed the instructions carefully, his hands shaking slightly as he raised the rifle to his shoulder. As he focused on the target, his vision seemed to zoom in like an eagle's eye, and he felt his heart pounding in his chest. Suddenly, he dropped the rifle and checked his hands and body for any signs of change.
"What happened, Mark?" Fernando asked, concerned.
"He's just scared," Jhohan said dismissively.
"I know how you feel, Mark," Jhohan continued, placing a comforting hand on his shoulder. "But we're all human here. You just have to learn to control it."
Jhohan knows what happened to Mark since they are both infected. Mark caught on to the point Jhohan was making.
Mark nodded, his eyes fixed on the rifle. He picked it up again and took a deep breath, steadying his aim. Once again, his vision zoomed in, but this time he didn't let it distract him. He pulled the trigger and hit the target with deadly accuracy.
"See, it's just a piece of cake," Jhohan said with a grin.
Fernando smiled and nodded. "You have a hidden talent in your hands, Mark. Keep practicing."
"Try shooting more targets," he added, gesturing towards a row of stones at the edge of the graveyard.
After Mark finished shooting, Fernando gave him more instructions on how to handle the rifle. Suddenly, they saw a group of men running towards them, each holding shovels and rifles. One of them was Lydia's nephew, who appeared to be out of breath.
"We heard gunshots here. Are you alright, uncle?" he asked.
Fernando turned to face them and replied, "Yes, Bron. We were just teaching Mark how to use this rifle." He pointed to the weapon in Mark's hands.
"Did you already know them?" Fernando added.
"Yes, uncle. Auntie Lydia already told me about them," Bron replied.
Fernando introduced Bron to the group. "He's the nephew of my wife and was in the army," Fernando explained.
"Hi, I'm Captain Bron. You haven't seen me in the bunker because I went to get some weapons from the camp," he explained.
[[[He has thick eyebrows and a pointed nose, and his muscular build is complemented by his brown skin and height of 5'9". He is wearing a plain blue t-shirt and military uniform pants that are tucked into black combat boots. A black cap on his head completes the military look. Overall, he exudes an aura of strength and readiness for action.]]]
"What happened here? Why are there so many open graves?" He changed his attention to the holes.
"There are tiny creatures living in the dead's heart. Once people are bitten by those monsters, even if they are dead, they will be infected and their bodies will be controlled and turned into a monster," Jhohan answered.
"As you can see now, they are free. But their weakness is sunlight. We need to find where they are hiding now," she added.
"I know their weakness, but what's your plan?" Captain Bron asked.
"Let's check the village if there are any signs of monsters there," Jhohan said.
The men behind them murmured about Jhohan's beauty and what she had done earlier.
"Hey, you all have your own wives. Stop looking at Jhohan. You're too old to be maniacs," Fernando scolded them.
"Let's continue planning and go back to the bunker. It's so hot here," Fernando turned his attention back to Captain Bron and Jhohan.
"My wife would never see a handsome man again if I lose my skin tone," he added.
But one of the men reacted, teasing him, "That's alright, Chairman. You can't even do one round, or maybe your pet won't harden anymore."
Everyone laughed, but Fernando weirdly joined in and said, "Let's just say I'm too weak now."
He looked at the rifle in his hand and said, "But my hand has the accuracy to shoot your mouth," and he shot the ground beneath them. The men ran back to the bunker, shouting to stop firing, but Fernando chased after them, laughing loudly.
Mark, Jhohan, and Captain Bron smiled as they followed behind.
While they were walking, Captain Bron asked them, "You're both too young. How did you survive?"
"I'm lucky with Spectre. She knows how to fight, and she has abilities like a ninja," Mark said.
"Spectre? That's a cool name. I've heard the name Spectre before. Some officers and some of my troops joined to find her because there was a big bounty on her head. They mentioned that she was a woman, but it's hard to catch her since no one saw her face," Captain Bron said.
"But why did you call Jhohan that name?" he added.
Mark hesitated before continuing, "I heard that name in the news, and I just called Jhohan Spectre because she knows how to fight."
But Jhohan admitted, "I'm the Spectre you mentioned, Captain Bron."
"Really? You're too young to be the Spectre," Captain Bron said.
"She's just lying," Mark said, weirdly smiling.
"Yeah, but I'm the Spectre who killed those high-ranking officials and rich people who are members of the secret organization responsible for this tragedy," Jhohan explained.
Fernando shouted at them, "Hey, you're all walking like snails! Time is running out!"
"We're coming!" Captain responded.
"Nice to finally meet you, Spectre," Captain said as they ran quickly on their way.
Inside the underground bunker, they entered a room where the weapons were kept.
"Spectre, feel free to choose," Captain said.
Spectre picked up the AR-500 rifle and installed a scope on it. Mark grabbed one too.
"Wow, it's my first time holding one of these. I feel like I'm about to forget my dream of becoming a doctor," Mark said.
"Do you know how to use it?" Captain Bron asked him.
"Don't worry, Captain. I can handle this," Mark replied confidently.
While they were preparing, Mark asked, "Where is your team now? Did they go to the Obsidian Base?"
"Yes, but I refused to go back there. I want to ensure my aunt Lydia is safe," Captain Bron replied.
"Why didn't you send them to the Obsidian Base?" Mark asked.
"I already told them about it. As for now, I'm waiting for my aunt's decision. She is scared to leave this area," he said.
"I already called for help from the base. They will come here tomorrow morning," Captain Bron added.
"Hey kids, have you finished choosing your weapons?" Fernando asked as he entered the room, holding the SharpZScar rifle.
All of them turned to face Fernando at the door.
"Hey uncle, you never mentioned to me that you have such a beautiful weapon hidden in your room," Captain Bron said in shock as he saw the futuristic rifle.
"Haha, Jhohan, can I borrow this?" Fernando asked.
"Yeah, but it only has one magazine left," Jhohan replied.
"Where did you get that?" Captain Bron asked.
"I'll tell you later," Jhohan said.
"Hey guys, we forgot to install flashlights on our guns," Mark reminded them.
"I think you need it too," Fernando tossed a bag to Jhohan. Jhohan and Mark injected OrganismX into their bodies.
"Thanks, I'll explain it to you later."
"Is everything settled?" Fernando asked.
They walked down the corridor and entered the metallic elevator. As they emerged from the elevator into the sunlight, Jhohan asked Captain Bron about the time. As they descended into the village, several men followed them, holding their M16 rifles and asking, "Can we join?"
Captain Bron nodded, and as they entered the first house, But first Jhohan instructed them to shoot any creatures they encounter in the head and heart, and to be careful. She instructed the men to check the outside area and shoot down any monsters they see.
Spectre led the team as they carefully searched inside each house. However, the first house was empty, so they continued searching every house until they reached a small church in the middle of the village. As they opened the door, they saw blood on the ground and followed it until they found a human hand.
"Shhh," Jhohan signaled them to walk quietly.
They covered their noses as they walked closer. Jhohan spotted the dead bodies beside a sleeping monster at the end of the wall. Suddenly, the monster woke up and charged at them.
They opened fire as the monster attacked them with its razor-sharp claws swinging in the air, emitting a deafening screech that echoed throughout the church. Jhohan quickly reacted, firing her rifle at the beast's head, but the creature's thick hide absorbed most of the impact. The monster lunged forward, its claws missing Jhohan by inches as she ducked and rolled out of the way.
Mark and Captain Bron opened fire, their bullets striking the monster's chest and legs, but it only seemed to make the creature angrier. The monster let out a guttural growl, its eyes locked on its prey.
Jhohan darted behind the monster, attempting to land a clean shot with her rifle. She aimed for the head but missed, hitting the monster's shoulder instead. The creature let out a howl of pain and turned to face Jhohan. Its eyes glowed red with rage, and it charged towards her.
Jhohan ran towards the pews, using them as cover while firing her rifle at the monster. The creature swiped at the pews, sending splinters flying in all directions. The sound of the monster's claws tearing through the wood was deafening.
Meanwhile, Captain Bron and Mark reloaded their rifles as fast as they could, trying to keep the monster at bay. But the beast was relentless, charging towards them with each step. They fired their guns, their bullets hitting the monster's torso and head.
The monster let out a ferocious roar and charged towards the group, its claws slicing through the air. Jhohan tried to dodge the monster's attack, but the creature managed to graze her shoulder with its claws.
Jhohan fell to the ground, the impact knocking the wind out of her. The monster turned to face her again, raising its claws high above its head, ready to strike. But before it could deliver the killing blow, Fernando waited for a moment and fired a shot directly at its head. The monster stumbled, giving Mark and Captain Bron the opportunity to shoot at it from behind.
The monster let out a final scream as it collapsed to the ground, defeated. The sound of its body hitting the floor was deafening. The group paused, catching their breath and listening to the sound of their own heartbeats,
Using a rope, they dragged the monster outside the church. Little by little, it began to melt under the intense sunlight.
Many monsters appeared in every house around them, their grotesque faces showing their intentions to attack.
