Fernando guides Mark and Jhohan to their room and opens the door. "Here's your room for tonight. I hope you both can sleep well," he says.
Mark hesitates, "Is there another available room, Mr. Chairman? It's kind of weird for us to sleep in the same room."
Fernando chuckles, "Come on, Mark, you're not a kid anymore. I trust you both can control yourselves.Just make sure to keep the noise down, I don't want to hear any hanky-panky going on in there."
Mark looks embarrassed, "We're just friends, Mr.Chairman. Could we have separate beds?"
Fernando laughs, "Of course, Mark. I'm just teasing. You can have the floor, and Jhohan can take the bed."
Fernando winks "Goodnight kids, have fun!"
"But don't worry, there's nothing wrong with a little cuddling."He added as he closed the door, shaking his head and chuckling to himself.
"I slowly felt embarrassed by that old man," Mark said with a hint of shame in his voice.
Jhohan rolled her eyes. "You're too sensitive. Just take this and arrange yourself on the floor," she said, throwing a pillow and a blanket at him.
Mark began to arrange the bedding on the floor, taking care to make it as comfortable as possible. Once he was done, he lay down on the soft surface, feeling grateful for the makeshift bed.
"You know, Spectre, I feel so fortunate to have you by my side," Mark said with genuine gratitude.
Spectre looked at the ceiling, "Why do you say that?"
"Well, for starters, you're a genius. Your courage and determination to fight for justice for the oppressed people against those corrupt authorities, even at the risk of your own life, is truly admirable. You have faced numerous monsters alone and emerged victorious. You have saved me from those creatures multiple times, and even provided me with the antidote that saved my life. honestly, I don't think I could have made it this far without you. It's amazing to see a young girl like you taking on the responsibility of saving the entire world," Mark explained, his admiration for Spectre evident in his voice.
After he finished speaking, he heard loud snoring. "Great," he thought, "you can even mimic the sound of a chainsaw."
He closed his eyes and the memories flooded his mind. He could vividly remember the time when they were chased by those vicious creatures in the village. Mark had run out of bullets and was left with no other option but to face the monster head-on. He braced himself for the worst, but in a blink of an eye, Jhohan had come to his rescue. She fearlessly charged towards the creature with only a sharp knife, fighting it with all her might, even risking her own life to save him. Mark couldn't forget the look of fierce determination on Jhohan's face as she battled the creature, her eyes shining with unwavering courage to protect him. It was a moment that had etched in his mind, reminding him of the bravery of his companion, and how lucky he was to have her by his side.
With these thoughts in his mind, he eventually drifted off to sleep, allowing his body to fully relax.
Mark slowly opened his eyes and saw the light from the bulb above. He stretched his arms and yawned, feeling a sense of calm wash over him as he took in the quiet of the room. He sat up on his bed, running his hands through his tousled hair and taking a deep breath of the fresh air.
As he stood up, he stretched his legs and felt his muscles wake up after a good night's rest. He walked over to the mirror and looked at himself. Then, suddenly he noticed Jhohan still sleeping on the bed. He turned around and walked towards her, stopping at the foot of the bed.
"Okay, she has also got sleeping beauty syndrome," he said to himself.
"But wait, what time is it? Did I wake up too early? I can't feel the morning since we are underground. But what is in her hand? A mobile phone?"
As he went to get the item, he slipped on the ground because of Jhohan's blanket. As he stood up, he couldn't believe what he saw - blood flowing from his nose as he caught sight of Jhohan wearing only a bra. He immediately covered his eyes.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to see that, Spectre. I just wanted to know the time," he said to himself.
But he suddenly felt no response from Jhohan. As he slowly opened his right eye, he saw that Jhohan was still enjoying the bed, snoring like a kid.
"Oh, Thank god I didn't wake her up," he felt relieved.
He slowly reached the item from Jhohan's hand and put his right hand over his eyes to avoid seeing Jhohan's breast. As he reached the item, he saw that it wasn't a mobile phone but a digital map.
Fernando swiftly opened the door, which surprised Mark, and he slipped again, but this time he landed on Jhohan.
"What are they doing, Grandma?" said the twins.
"Are they playing at this time?" they added.
Jhohan opened her eyes and saw Mark's face and body on the top of hers. They both felt embarrassed. She quickly pushed Mark, and he fell on the ground. She stood up and Mark offered her the blanket.
"I think you need it now,"
"Fernando, I told you that we didn't need to wake them up early," Lydia said as she covered the twins' eyes.
Jhohan's mind went back to herself and saw that she was only wearing a bra. She immediately got the blanket and covered herself.
Fernando said, sheepishly "We're sorry to have disturbed your time. I forgot to knock before entering the room. I should have respected your privacy. My bad"
Fernando, trying to lighten the mood, quipped, "Well, it looks like we all had an interesting night. But let's get back on track here.
"The rescuers will be here in 30 minutes, so we need to be ready." he added before he closed the door.
Jhohan quickly grabbed her clothes and demanded that Mark turn around. Mark, red-faced, began to apologize profusely, "I didn't mean to see that, I just wanted to reach for the digital map to check the time. But then Mr. Chairman surprised me, and I accidentally fell on you."
"You don't need to apologize, I didn't feel uncomfortable last night, so I took off my clothes to sleep better. Now go help Mr.chairman and let's get out of here."
After a tense wait, the watcher informed them that the rescuers were approaching, and the group made their way out of the bunker. Mark remembered that Captain Bron was having trouble walking, so he grabbed a stick of wood and fashioned it into a makeshift crutch to support him. Meanwhile, Fernando helped his wife and their twin children out of the bunker.
As they stepped outside, they were greeted with an incredible sight. Five helicopters were flying towards them, and the people cheered in excitement. The sound of the rotor blades grew louder and louder until the helicopters finally landed on the plain area near the village.
The sight of the rescue teams brought a sense of relief to the group. The army personnel guided everyone to ensure their safety and helped the residents, both young and old, board the helicopters. It was an emotional moment as they realized that they were finally able to breathe in the fresh air outside.
"Where's Jhohan?" Captain Bron asked Mark, noticing her absence.
"I'm here, Captain! I forgot my bag , so I went back inside to get it," Jhohan replied.
As they prepared to leave, a personnel approached them and saluted, "We're ready to evacuate, sir."
"And what happened to your leg, sir?" he asked.
Captain Bron responded, "Good to hear. And my leg? Well, that's a long story. Let's just focus on getting to the helicopters."
As they flew away, Fernando and Lydia looked back at the village they had called home for years. Though it had been a challenging experience, Fernando felt grateful that his wife and grandchildren were now safe.
The helicopter soared high above the clouds as the sun slowly set in the distance.Mark was overcome with emotions as he looked down at the city's devastation. It reminded him of his family and his happy memories with his friends. He couldn't help but think about how everything had changed in an instant.
On the other hand, Jhohan checked on Captain Bron's condition. "How are you feeling, Captain?" she asked.
"I feel absolutely fine," he replied. "I can touch my leg without any pain. What kind of substance did you inject me with? It felt like a warm sensation of miracle liquid flowing through my body."
"It's an antidote. It can help cure your wounds and prevent the infection spread to your body," Jhohan explained.
"That's good to hear. If we could use it to help those wounded soldiers and civilians, it could help them restore their strength," Captain Bron said thoughtfully.
Jhohan nodded in agreement but added, "Honestly, my antidote still needs development. I need to go back to my safe house to refine the formula."
Captain Bron listened carefully before responding, "Apparently, there are many scientists in the Obsidian Base examining those creatures. They may be able to give you a big help."
The mention of the Obsidian Base piqued Mark's interest, and he leaned forward, asking, "How many people have successfully left the city?"
Captain Bron let out a deep sigh before answering, "Unfortunately, only about half of the population survived the attack. The monsters caught us all by surprise."
Mark's heart sank at the news. "What happened to the other half?"
They are now living peacefully inside the Obsidian Base. With the support of the Mharsia people and those from different cities," Captain Bron explained.
As they flew closer to the Obsidian Base, one of the personnel on board reminded them, "Ladies and gentlemen, we are now just a few minutes away from the Obsidian Base. Please make sure your belongings are secured, and keep your seat belts fastened until we have come to a complete stop."
Lydia turned to Fernando and whispered, "We're almost there. I can't believe we made it.
Fernando smiled back at her, placing his hands over hers and the twins. "We have to thank these personnel for getting us here safely," he said, nodding towards the crew. "I don't know how we can ever repay them for what they've done for us, but I'll make sure to find a way." He turned to the personnel and added, "Thank you for everything. You're heroes in our eyes.
"You're welcome Sir,This is our Job to Protect you."
"And Sir, ma'am, we're getting close to the base. Once we land, please follow our instructions and keep your heads down until we enter the base." he added.
They watched as the walls of the Obsidian Base came into view, towering over the surrounding landscape.
As they touched down, the personnel instructed them to exit the helicopter quickly and follow them towards a nearby building. Armed guards greeted them, leading them inside for a debriefing.
Mark asked before they landed, "Captain, can I please see my family?"
"Of course, Mark. I'll help you find them since I'm feeling much better now," replied Captain Bron.
