"You're just like someone else!"
The utterance the woman said to Hiraeth made him freeze in place. Although he knew that his mother was just kidding, it would not change the fact that in the real body of Hiraeth, there was someone else's soul.
"Hiraeth? Ah, I'm sorry, I have no intention to make you sad by saying you're like someone else!" the woman panicked while holding the shoulders of her son who had been silent for a while.
Irish was really joking when she said the words, but who would have thought that the joke she said actually made his son surprised. In Irish's eyes, Hiraeth was like a sad child, even though Hiraeth was just surprised and a little worried at the same time, he was not sad because he was not actually her son.
"I'm okay."
"I'm really sorry. I just felt that you're a little different, and without realizing it I hurt your feelings." The woman still seemed to regret what she said.
"I mean it too when I say that I'm okay!" This time Hiraeth convinced Irish that everything was fine.
"Alright, then. But one thing you should know, I will love you no matter how you are!"
"I know that."
Yeah, Hiraeth knew clearly that the woman he called mother really loved her son. She still coddled the child even though she was in the middle of financial limitations.
If he was not mistaken, the real Hiraeth is not only weak in physical terms, he is also weak in everything, even in writing. It was obvious as in the house there were only scribbles without meaning. Perhaps one of the factors was that Irish never forced her son to do something and coddled him. It was evident when Irish was very surprised as she saw her son who could not do anything on his own, but suddenly he could be relied on. Evan as the soul who was in the body of Hiraeth understood it as well.
"It seems that the problem all this time is your illness. It makes you not be fast and responsive. Now that your illness has healed, you have become as smart and brave as you are now!"
Irish looked so excited stirring the bread dough in her hands. She also added a little sugar and bread improver. Then she kept on stirring it. The process of making bread could take up to an hour more, because there were many processes in making it and could not be done in a hurry. Because the bread would not expand if the stages did not do sequentially.
"Mom, can you wake me up when the food is ready? I'd like to take a rest for a while."
Irish who was stirring the dough turned her head behind, then she nodded in response that she understood. After getting an answer from the mother, Hiraeth left the kitchen and headed to his room right away. He had to arrange a plan well for tomorrow so that everything went well and he could gain a maximum result.
"This time the most profitable outcome is fish. If the river is traced again, there must be a certain spot where there are lots of fish just like yesterday."
Hiraeth began to write down the first plan he had to do tomorrow. Hiraeth had a plan to focus on the fish for tomorrow, and he also had a plan to make a bigger trap so that he got more fish.
"It seems that humans rarely come to the river, it's evident by the ease of catching fish with the size as wide as the palm of the hand."
Hiraeth looked out of the window, he began to re-imagined what he had eaten in his previous life, or what kind of fish-based processed food that he had eaten. Because it was impossible to exchange this kind thing for every day, especially when fish supply was abundant.
"It would be much better if I could keep fish for a long time. So I already have a supply of fish when the winter arrives where the availability of fish is limited due to the weather and may sell it for a premium price."
Hiraeth was still looking out of the window while wondering. If what he thought could come true, it would certainly be a good thing for him and his mother, moreover, it was less than two months the winter will begin.
The rich began to stockpile foods such as potatoes, wheat, corn and so on that could be kept for a long time. For such poor people they could only save a little because they also had to fill their stomachs every day before winter arrived.
According to his mother's story, in this village, many died during the winter. Either because of the cold, or because they were starving. Many of the people were reluctant to help because the winter lasted for more than four months, so they had to make sure they had food supplies during the winter.
"If the management of this area happens well then winter is no longer a scary scourge for the people." He muttered.
Hiraeth did not expect, all this time the life that he often complained about was the life that others always dreamed of. He knew that everyone wanted to be rich and stable like a noble family, but he did not expect that there were houses that did not have enough heater for one family, so it was not uncommon for them to die because of their frozen blood.
"I know being a leader is hard, but how come they ignore the people in their territory? Hiraeth felt upset.
When he was still alive as a young master, he always made sure no one was starving in his territory. Despite the fact that his former self was somewhat arrogant, no, maybe his former life was very arrogant, but that didn't mean he became cold-hearted. He often quarreled with his father about taxes.
"It is true, if greed becomes the master of a land, then there is only misery there. and I've proven the truth of that sentence!"
The door of Hiraeth's room opened, showing a woman. She was Irish, his mother. "Let's have dinner, the meal is ready." Hiraeth just nodded and followed the woman.
"I think I've been imagining for too long."
