A gasp leaves Micah's plush lips the moment the door behind her closes shut. The darkness blinds her vision, consuming her in its ample embrace. It stokes a flame of fear inside her, it burns through her veins and scorches her courage to ashes.
Micah feels her body press back against the cold wooden door out of fear, she widens her eyes as she looks around the darkness to find a sliver of light, anything that would be an assurance to her spooked mind. And soon she finds it, a speck of light oozing inside the room from the slight crack of what could have been a window from the far corner of the room.
With measured steps and labored breath, Micah moves toward it like a shadow, no sound other than her breathing filtering through the air. The moment she nears the light, she reaches her fingers toward it, tucking away the thick material away from the window.
