Chapter 2 - The Implementation of Matchmaker Program

Reizo Hiraga, a high school student at the prestigious Seiran Academy, walked down the hallway with his head down, ignoring the greetings of his classmates. He was known for his intelligence and good looks, but his attitude was that of a cold and aloof person who didn't want to socialize with anyone.

Despite his introverted nature, he had aced each test and became top 1 in each of his classes from Class 1 to Class 2. But his biggest challenge awaited him in Class 3A, where they would be having a Matchmaker Program.

The concept was simple yet terrifying to Reizo. The students would be randomly paired up and would have to get along with their partner throughout the entire year until graduation. They would be graded as one and not as individuals, as they were supposed to act as a married couple.

Reizo had always been a loner, and the idea of having to share his life with someone else was daunting. He had hoped that he would be paired up with someone who wouldn't disturb his studies, but fate had other plans.

As the selection came out, the beautiful and popular blonde girl, Yuna Sakamoto, was paired up with Reizo. Yuna had always had a crush on the popular guy, Akira Shirogane, but now she was stuck with Reizo, the quiet and mysterious boy who rarely spoke to anyone.

As they walked to their shared room at the school dorm, Yuna tried to break the ice with Reizo. "Hi, I'm Yuna. Nice to meet you," she said with a smile.

Reizo barely looked at her and just grunted in response, making Yuna feel awkward.

Yuna remembered what her friends had told her about Reizo's dark past, which was rumored to be the reason for his cold behavior. She decided to ask him about it, hoping to understand him better.

"Hey, Reizo, can I ask you something?" she said.

"What?" Reizo replied coldly.

"I heard that you have a dark past. Is that true?"

Reizo's expression turned cold, and he glared at Yuna. "That's none of your business. Don't pry into other people's personal lives," he said sharply.

Yuna felt a chill run down her spine and regretted asking the question. She decided to let the subject drop and went to sleep in her bed.

As she pretended to sleep, she eavesdropped on Reizo muttering to himself about his studies. She couldn't help but feel intrigued by him, wondering what secrets he was hiding and what drove him to be such a dedicated student.
