Chapter 16 - Macau

16: Macau

Don Mueang International Airport

Carl took a dog leash in his hand. He always had to yank this Thai Bangkaew softly as this furball got too excited and was ready to jump ahead. The gray carpet helped reducing the heat from the asphalt floor. Carl hired one of the top private get companies in Thailand to handle this flight and they didn't fail him. It didn't take long to walk from the icy-cold lounge to the private jet.

The Cessna Citation X Model 750 was the world fastest private jet powered by Rolls-Royce AE 3007C with the highest ceiling over 50,000 feet and a maximum speed at Mach.92. With one fuel capacity, it could fly up to 5 hours.

This trip was an urgency and the fact that this werewolf boy kept whining and insisting that he had to come with Carl, he eventually gave up and asked his secretary to book a private jet. After all, Kaew could travel with him comfortably without putting him, in a dog form, in a checked baggage.

"Hello, everyone. I am captain Skyler, and this is our co-pilot, Alex." Both pilots greeted Carl and his crew in a Thai 'Wai' style before shaking each other's hand nicely.

The captain was in his middle-age and definitely a foreigner, but he spoke Thai fluently. Plus, his smile was beautiful too. After introducing themselves, the captain excused himself to make sure that everything was ready and let the co-pilot took care of getting everyone on board.

Kaew barked softly asking for attention, scratching the co-pilot with his front legs as though he wanted to say hi. The co-pilot wore a white t-shirt and a dark blue suit with a golden bird pin on it, pairing with a pair of dark blue slack trousers emphasizing his long legs, looking polished and perfect. He wore a pair of pilot sunglasses over his high-bridge nose. Despite his dark brown hair that most looked black, his facial figure clearly showed that he was half Thai. His pink lips curled into a friendly smile.

"Oh, how cute. I actually love dogs, but I'm allergic to dog fur so I can't have ones. What is his breed though, sir?" He patted Kaew's furry head, admiring this cute fluff ball.

"Woof, woof." He's so handsome and speaks Thai so perfectly. I need to give him a bark as a compliment.

"Bangkaew." Carl made a stern face, glancing at Kaew's cheerful reaction. Look at that wagging tail though. He even licks this co-pilot's hands playfully. Carl held a leash in his grip so tightly, shooting a look at this four-leg furball to stop playing and to follow him. But it looked like this co-pilot really liked Kaew, so he got down on his knees and played along. Kaew took that as a invitation and lay on the floor, asking the co-pilot for a belly rub.

"What is his name, sir? His fur is so soft."

"Woof, woof." My name is Kaew. Oh! That's tickling. Don't tickle my waist.

"Let's go." There was a small tic at the corner of Carl's lips. He was too afraid to yank Kaew's leash.

"You like it here, yeah? Hahaha."

Alex was about to scratch Kaew again but Carl was faster. He carried Kaew in his arms bridal style before getting on the jet immediately.

"…" Kaew tilted his head, his long pink tongue hanging out of his mouth.

"Hold yourself together." Carl complained softly but Kaew could only react by making a confused face.

"Hello, passengers. This is your captain speaking. My name is Skyler and this is our co-pilot, Alex. Welcome onboard with our service from Bangkok to Macau. This flight will take approximately 3 hours. However, it seems that We are flying in the jet stream which will take us to the destination earlier. Please keep your seatbelts fastened during the take-off and landing." The captain announced the pre-flight from the cockpit.

The jet stream was the strong wind up to 200 or 400 kms per hour. It would boost up their flight that was already the fastest even faster.

"Kaew, stay still."

Carl patted on the big dog's back who was standing up holding his front paws on the windows. At the corner of his eyes, he saw that the co-pilot was checking the over-head bin and passengers' waists before heading to get an extended safety belt for dogs.

"Let me fasten the dog's seatbelt, sir."

Carl's sharp eyes stared at every movement and the young co-pilot couldn't help swallowing hard. Kaew kept sitting and standing back and forth while wagging his tail uncontrollably that he could break his own back. It took the co-pilot a hot minute to fasten Kaew with a safety belt but he kept his manner and smiled politely before heading back to the cockpit quietly.

"Nggg, nggg."

Kaew looked over trying to sneak a peak from the cockpit. Do they get a nice view? This is my first time traveling on a plane and I'm so excited! When Kaew turned back and saw Carl's stern look, he couldn't do anything but tilted his head at the man again.

Kaew who had always wanted to travel the world was quite new when it came to planning his trips. He couldn't take a long flight over night due to his shifting condition. But if he wanted to travel in his human form, he needed a passport and needed to arrive the destination before sunset too. If he wanted to go when he was in his werewolf form, having someone to get him in a checked baggage was the only option. Not to mention about getting a cage that was big enough for him when he shifts… However, he wouldn't be able to make a single step if he kept thinking about ways to actually travel.

His first trip from Phitsanulok to Bangkok almost fried him up on the express way. Who would have thought that he was now having his butt on a private jet with these two handsome pilots? The jet was luxury and Kaew could smell it from the first sniff.

It didn't take long until the jet was moving to the runway. The seatbelt signals were blinking along with one beep sound. The Cessna Citation X took off along the runway with the fastest speed and it was like being in a Viking ship in a theme park, it could make someone with this type of phobia sick. Not over a second, Kaew felt like he was literally flying and his ears hurt from the air pressure that he let out a whine. Carl leaned down and embraced Kaew in his arms. After 5 minutes, the seatbelt signals were gone which meant the jet had reached the flight level.

Kaew sighed in relief before pressing his head against the window to take a look at the view outside. His brown eyes looked over to the sky, clouds, and neighborhoods down there that became smaller from the distance. It was so pleasant that he forgot to pay attention at drinks and snacks that the co-pilot brought to the seat.

The secretary and Carl was discussing something intensely. Another two bodyguard were sitting 3 rolls away from them. The top security was planned out for this trip.

The flight went smoothly as well as the journey from Macau International Airport to the Four Season Hotel. Kaew behaved well and always followed Carl closely. When they were in a car, Kaew would put his head over Carl's lap while looking out for his mate, keeping his ears and tail up. And Carl was planning an on-site inspection tomorrow with his secretary before emphasizing that no one should interrupt him this evening.

Carl took his suit and tie off, folding sleeves over his elbows. He decided to postpone his schedule to tomorrow because it was almost sunset and this Bangkaew seemed to run out of his energy after exploring this luxury suite. Kaew just passed out on the couch.

"Kaew, wake up. Let's have dinner." Carl shook his shoulders under a thick blanket that he covered it over the boy earlier. Instead of the furball, Kaew in his fair skin appeared.

"Ummm, I'm tired," whined Kaew.

"Don't you want to check out Macau view at night?"

Well, that worked. The boy in the couch sat straight in the couch and his tiredness seemed to vanish immediately. He looked rather enthusiastic and Carl couldn't resist smiling after seeing that reaction.

Kaew went straight to his room. After 10 minutes, he had already showered and was now sitting by a dining table. Carl ordered different well-known Macau's dishes such as egg-noodles with giant shrimp wonton, egg tarts from Cafe e Nata Margaret's, roast duck from Chan Kuong Kei and other mouth-watering food.

Kaew sat by the side that he could see Macau Tower and Hong Kong - Zhuhai - Macau Bridge while eating a sweet and crispy egg tart. His eyes became teary as it was so delicious making him want to cry. The view was also amazing with dazzling lights reflecting in water. He couldn't decide whether to take the view in or to enjoy the meal.

"Why are you crying?" Carl wiped off Kaew's tear.

"I'm just so happy. Thank you… Thank you so much, Mr. Carl." He sniffed, feeling like his small steps to follow his dream became a clearer picture.

"I need to take care of my mate too."

Kaew didn't know Carl could make such flirty expression like that. The boy blushed from his cheeks to his ears and he needed to cover them with his hand. Maybe the theory about werewolves' mates in the book was right after all. We would feel extra emotional, switching from feeling hot to cold, and as though there were butterflies in our stomachs. It made our hearts flutter and we couldn't control it.

Suddenly, the light went off. The mafia frowned as he didn't expect that this high-standard hotel would let such things happen. He stood up but Kaew was faster than him. Kaew put Carl behind himself and spread his arms out in a guarding position before growling and bearing his fangs out. His brown eyes glowed in the dark.

At the 30th floor of the luxury hotel, three intruders appeared. It was completely dark and quiet outside, making it difficult to figure out how these men came up here.

The intruders spread out along the balcony. It was only a thin glass window separating Carl and Kaew from them. One guy at the center locked his target and was about to jump over, but he suddenly paused.

"Werewolf!" One of them shouted, his high-bridge nose took the scent in. The other two men nodded to each other.

The moon light was shining through the clouds over the intruders. Three black-suited intruders were all tall with gleaming blonde-silver hair. But most importantly, their eyes also glowed in the dark.

They were eyes of predators.

Kaew widened his eyes. He could smell something unique about them, their stench. He could also sense that their blood was hotter than human. It was the same smell just like Kaew!
