20: The Most Powerful Werewolf

"Alright. Listen up, everyone. We need to figure things out right here and right now!"

"No one ever asked me what I wanted."

"Grandpa, before scolding me like that, you should have told me the truth about my mother first. Lying is so wrong. You're the one teaching me that."

"Sandee, I told you not to use violence. Being big and strong doesn't mean you can hurt anyone. We should talk to people nicely.

"And dad, please be nice to Grandpa."

"Mr. Carl, why are you making that face and saying nothing? You're usually not like this when you're along with me. Are you bipolar, huh? We need a long discussion after this."

Silence… Only silence was the answer from everyone in the room.

Woof, woof, awoo…

If I can't get things right today, don't call me Kaew. The boy thought to himself before glancing over the room, baring his fangs and growling in his throat.

If this happened back in ages ago, Kaew would have pushed Carl down to the floor with his belly up before standing over him and growling at everyone to show that this man was his mate and no one could touch him. Oh well, luckily this was already 2023.

"Ahem," Kaew coughed softly clearing his throat.

"Grandpa, I'm not happy that you're not telling the whole truth. If I weren't kidnapped, I would never know my dad existed. Don't do that face to me. If you make me mad, I will leave you forever."

"Dad, I'll call you later as we agreed."

"Sandee, after this whole thing is over, you should pack your stuff and live with me instead. Living with Grandpa won't get you far. You won't get to experience life. And from what I've seen, most of everything that Grandpa told us was far from the truth."

"Mr. Carl, let's go home."

The mafia got up instantly!

Carl held Kaew's hand that reached out to him. The rest of the people in the room could just blink their eyes, though they wanted to protest so severely, they kept their mouths shut when Kaew's bright brown eyes snapped at them, realizing who was the most powerful boss here.

"There, there. You must have been so scared." Kaew pulled Carl's head against his chest.

The secretary who was driving in the driver's seat was still too stunned to speak. What happened there? Carl got inside all alone but now he was back with this boy.

Before this mission, Carl called him out despite how dangerous this job was. The secretary was told to wait outside. He saw more than 10 Russian mafias in their neat suits guarding the entrance. He could clearly see that they were professional and fully armed. The longer he waited outside, the colder it got.

After a while, an old Thai man and a young handsome man walked dawdled and started a Thai boxing fight against these mafias. Within a minute, they could get inside and slammed the door shut.

At that time, the secretary was examining the situation and was about to call his team for reinforcement despite the fact that Carl told him firmly not to do anything without his command.

Could he consider this a sign from hell?

The secretary got a master's degree in management and he should have taken another career path a little less risky than this one. Should I go back home and start my organic hydroponic farm? I can just build my business selling pricy organic salad or healthy food. It might be better than running around after Mr. Carl. Things used to be much better than this. Though my boss is coldhearted, that's acceptable.

But lately, something complicated was swept under the rug and this knowledgeable secretary started to feel unimportant as his boss kept secrets away from him. For example… this boy who was hugging his boss's head in the car here… Who the hell was he? After working with Carl for a decade, this was the first time he saw Carl let someone play with his head like this.

"Oops!" The secretary was startled when his eyes met Carl's glare.

"There, there. Kaew is here so you don't have to be scared anymore. I'll protect you," the boy continued murmuring while patting Carl here and there.

"Is the jet ready?" Carl asked inaudibly as Kaew was pressing his face against that flat chest.

"It'll be ready in 20 minutes." The secretary looked down.

"Go at full speed," commanded Carl calmly.

And there was nothing the secretary wouldn't do for his boss. They arrived at the Macau International Airport in a heartbeat. The world's fastest private jet Cessna Citation X Model 750 was ready to take off and everyone arrived at the Don Meaung International Airport at dawn.

"Thank you, Mr. Alex." Kaew smiled brightly while exiting the jet.

"Thank you for flying with us." Alex stood by the door, smiling and saying farewell to all passengers. He was surprised that the boy knew his name.

"Kaew…" Carl tried to pause the boy while ging the co-pilot a deadly glare, warning him not to interact with Kaew.

"I love it so much. The jet was super fast. Is it hard to learn how to fly a plane?" Kaew continued his questions though Carl was trying to hold him in the waist pulling him away.

"Nothing is too difficult if you're passionate about it," answered Alex with the brightest smile.

Carl cursed in his mind, I'm gonna shoot this man right in his face and take over this business!!

"Boss," the secretary who was following Carl called. The heavy pressure he was feeling must have been from Carl's jealousy over this boy. He was sure of it.

"Let's get in the car." Carl nodded as a sign to his crew to continue the journey.

Kaew waved at two pilots through Tesla windows while Carl started the engine harshly. He must worry that we won't reach our place before sunset though the traffic isn't so bad, Kaew thought. But it doesn't matter since I'm already in the car. Why is making such an angry face when everything has been solved?

"Mr. Carl, why are you so mad? Mlem, mlem."

".!." The man who was driving shuddered. His ear got damp as Kaew licked it.

"I want to lick your eyebrows to untie them but I'm afraid that would block your sight," said Kaew innocently.

"..."

"You don't talk much again, so there must be something you're upset about."

Carl sighed softly before pressing a small button behind the steer twice. The screen showed an auto-pilot mode so he only held the steer with his left hand and turned to look at Kaew directly.

"Can we really trust this Tayla?" Kaew wasn't so convinced about this auto-pilot thing. How could someone drive without looking at the road and just hold a steer so loosely?

"Mmm."

"So, you need to really talk to me? Okay, go ahead."

"I'm not feeling like myself when I'm like this, Kaew. I'm not as calm as before. I can't contain myself well and there are just so many feelings in me."

The man sighed. These past few days just didn't make any sense. Why did this creature in front of him, either as a human or as a dog, have such an impact on him?

"Well, you must have never experienced the power of doggo before." Kaew sat straight and widened his shoulders with pride.

Dogs were such marvelous creatures. There was historical evidence that though humans in the Stone Age usually hunted animals to consume, they kept dogs close to them. Archeologists concluded that this could mean they kept dogs around to hunt with them. In fact, Kaew's ancestors were smarter by taking an advantage of the connection between dogs and humans. This connection was imprinted in their genes and inherited for over a thousand years. When humans saw dogs, something in their energy was awakened. Humans would care for and love us unconditionally. They would feel the steam of joy and happiness when they patted or treated us well.

"..." Oh, really? Carl thought while looking at that proud face before smiling softly.

"But you don't have to worry about anything. I'm a half dog and half human. I'll also take care of you. You won't be the only one who puts in the effort."

"..." Carl's big hands patted Kaew's black hair lovingly.

"Dogs don't think too much. We stay wherever makes us happy. Have you ever seen dogs by the Seven Eleven? They stay there because that place is cool and they get to meet so many people. That's their happy place to be," said Kaew, his cheery voice turned serious.

"Are you happy staying with me? Are you…"

"I'm going to travel the world."

".!."

"But you'll be much happier too if you come with me. So… let us stay together, shall we?" Kaew smiled brightly. His brown eyes stared at the man who was smiling at the corner of his mouth.

"I…"

Beep, beep, beep

The constant alarming sound made Carl push the brake instantly. Luckily this Tayla had a censor system and stopped the car before he knew it. A huge man appeared just an inch away in front of the car before the gleam flashed inside and outside.

"Nggg," Kaew whined in his throat. The sun already rose.

Thud, scritch, scratch

Two big paws lightly scratched the window by the passenger seat. The giant red-and-brown Bangkaew was standing outside of the car on his back legs.

"Woof, woof," the giant furball barked loudly.

"Woof, woof," Kaew barked back, his ears turned up and his tail wagged cheerfully.

"Woof!" Kaew, open the door, Sandee communicated through his bark.

"Woof, woof," hold up! Kaew barked as an answer before turning to Carl, making puppy eyes and licking his hand twice. Mister! Please open the door for my friend. (。→‿←。)

"..."

Since the incident a few days ago, Dom was suspended for a week. However, he was called to come to his boss's place as Carl just came back from a trip to Macau this morning. That was all he knew.

"Boss, I am…" Dom paused.

My goodness! Carl's condominium was a hot mess. Was it a hurricane or something? The place that used to be clean and tidy was now all disordered with ripped magazines, a pile of messy sheep wool blankets as though they were cheap rags, and Kaew's bowl that spilled all over the place.

"Drag these two out, now." Carl stayed calm, but his deathly tone was as if he was giving someone a death sentence. His long finger pointed at two furballs that were playing fight. They looked like red and black furry balls spinning around the room.

"Hmmm."

"Hmmm, grrrr." The red dog caught a Hermes pillow in his mouth and waved it around. The black Bangkaew jumped in joyfully trying to steal that pillow before playing tug of war until that pillow was ripped apart.

"Woof, woof," the black Bangkaew barked while the red one tilted his head looking at the pillow. It's dead. We're so good at this. Now, let's swim. Kaew thought.

"Nggg," Kaew whined in confusion when he was suddenly grabbed at the back of his neck. Let me go. I want to swim!

"Leave the red one at the temple," Carl ordered plainly.

"Nggg, nggg."

"Woof, woof!"

Both Bangkaew protested and Dom who was still surprised got a little startled. From that cold stare from Carl, this red fluff ball could have become meatballs already.

"The temple in Phitsanulok. I'll send you a location later," Carl shouted against loud barks before holding Kaew who was trying to get away in his arms.

"All the way to Phitsanulok?"

"you must go at full speed. No break. You must complete this before sunset."

"Ye… yes, boss." Dom bowed as he accepted the order.

"Awoo, nggg, nggg," Kaew cried to protest. Mr. Carl, you can't do this to Sandee. He's my best friend!

Dom stepped forward to the giant red Bangkaew. This bad boy was two times bigger than Kaew. Sandee narrowed his eyes at the man called Dom.

"Do it now," Carl commanded.

As Carl's wish, Dom jumped in trying to grab the red Bangkaew. Sandee wasn't exaggerating things but this became a slow-motion-like scene in an action movie. A big black-suited man jumped at him while he just let out a big yawn before stepping aside as quickly as a thunderbolt, followed by a sound. Thud. Dom fell on the well-made Persian carpet floor.

"Woof, woof," Sandee barked loudly. Grandpa Kwan won't let this go so easily. But at least I'm relieved to know that my best friend is doing well.

"Woof, woof." Don't leave yet. Let's stay with me and play some more. I'll talk about this with Mr. Carl myself, Kaew barked back.

Sandee shook his head aggressively. His pointy ears flinched as he heard the elevator sound, ding. He took his full speed and headed in that direction. In the meantime, the secretary who had just finished his business at the airport and came up here to check on his boss spotted a red furball rushing through the opposite side of him.

Three men and one Bangkaew in a luxury condominium could clearly see a giant red dog standing on his back legs before pressing a G button with his paw.

"Nggg, nggg." Grandpa! I'll pay you a visit with your in-law soon! Kaew thought and waved his front paw before the elevator closed.

His bright brown eyes looked up at the man who was holding him so tightly. You're in trouble, Mr. Carl. Look at my dad… he was captured and exiled in the middle of Ao Thai. My grandpa might put you in a rocket ship and leave you in space this time. Awoooo…
