Chapter 17 - Siberian Husky

17: Siberian Husky

A Werewolf!!!

Carl stared at these three intruders that seemed to just paused all of the sudden. They murmured to each other that he couldn't catch a word. There eyes were glowing and he could immediately figure it out that these big men were not humans.

"Kaew, watch out!" Carl grabbed Kaew's waist and jumped to the back of the couch.

At the same time, the glass window between them was scattered. The boy in Carl's arms started screaming, his hands covering his dog ears.

"That noise! That noise!" Kaew cried in pain as if his head would break into pieces because of that high-pitch noise.

"What noise!? I don't hear anything." Carl hugged Kaew who was twisting in pain.

"So, you're a werewolf, huh?" One of the intruders took a silver object about a size of a pink finger out of his mouth.

Kaew gasped, out of his breath. His tail curled in pain and shock. That whistle created noise that humans couldn't hear.

Carl pressed an emergency button on his watch before glancing around looking for something he could use as a weapon. He needed to do something to buy some time. But it came to his surprise that these men didn't do anything more than talking to each other in Russian. One of them called someone named Tsar.

"What do you want?" shouted Carl.

"Да Да"

It wasn't a reply to Carl. The intruder replied 'da da' to the phone which meant yes in Russian.

"What's that werewolf's name?"

"None of your business."

"Mr. Carl, you'd better hand us that werewolf."

"…"

"We'll assure your safety and will leave as soon as you give that werewolf to us." He walked over the broken glass window, pressuring Carl.

"Carl…" Kaew held on to Carl's shirt, his face turning pale.

"Shh, you don't have to say anything."

"Mr. Carl, this is your last chance. We don't want to hurt you," shouted the other intruder. Looks like they are impatient ones, Carl thought.

Carl shook his head at Kaew who was giving him a concern look. He whispered in the boy's ears that his team was coming before pressing a kiss on Kaew's head, trying to calm him down.

As he thought, his security team broke through the door. The intruders started shooting back.

The room turned bright again. Carl took a gun that his team threw to him. He helped Kaew to stand in his feet before leading him to the door where he saw his secretary there guarding at his direction.

"Интересный (Interesting.)" One of the intruders that seemed to be a leader smiled once he saw Kaew with his own eyes.

Kaew couldn't resist looking back at them. They were all in black suit like they came straight out of the action movies that Kaew used to watch on TV. Their figures were massive and full of power just like what ideal werewolves were supposed to be. Though their faces were under masks, their blue-green eyes were outstanding. Despite a second that his eyes met with one of them, Kaew was certain he saw a strange smile in their eyes.

"I'll see you later…" said one of the intruders in English.

Carl pointed his gun to them. He had no idea what kind of tactics they used but his bullets always missed the target. They laughed out loud before falling back to the balcony and disappearing.

"Wait!" Kaew was shocked.

"That's crazy!" One of Carl's bodyguards exclaimed. With this height, those intruders disappeared in the dark so effortlessly.

"Are you hurt, boss?"

The secretary lowered his gun and went straight to his boss, letting bodyguards take charge at the balcony and the door.

"No, they changed their target after…" Carl swallowed hard, feeling painful as Kaew was digging his arms with sharp claws.

".!." Where did this boy come from? The secretary thought to himself, looking at the boy in Carl's arms. The boy only had an oversized t-shirt and his boss's pajama pants on.

"Get me another room and handle this well," commanded Carl. Luckily, Kaew was able to contain himself and put his dog ears and tail away. Otherwise, he would have had another thing to deal with.

He led Kaew to the bedroom while waiting for his secretary to manage what he ordered. His black eyes wandered all over Kaew's body, seeing if he was hurt.

"They are werewolves. Did you see that too?"

"Kaew…" Carl pulled the boy who was freaking out to sit next to him in bed.

How could Kaew not freak out? All of his life, he had just realized that there were other werewolf clans out there. Moreover, they seemed to be a stronger breed with a superpower. They were so different yet so similar to Kaew's clan. Initially, they broke in to hurl Carl, but once they saw Kaew, they changed the target.

What was all of this? He had just arrived Macau for less than a day and it was already so exciting. Imagine that I can travel the world, that would be amazing!

"Mr. Carl, let's go and talk to them."

"What did you just say?"

"Those men, I mean, those werewolves that we just met… I want to talk to them."

"Kaew…"

The mafia sighed. They had just experienced a life-death situation and this boy wasn't scared. Instead, he wanted to talk to them. Did this furball forget that he was twisting on the floor with just one whistle earlier?

"You do know who they are, don't' you?"

"Kaew, I think you need to consider your safety first, or maybe think about the fact that my crew doesn't even know that you exist." Carl meant his secretary and his fellows in this trip.

Kaew frowned immediately and his cheeks reddened in embarrassment. Well, he wore Carl's clothes and was alone with him during the night. What else would they think of him besides Mr. Carl's lover in service? I mean, they aren't wrong about it though. I was planning on giving Mr. Carl a reward for ordering him so many delicious foods, but those Russian werewolves interrupted my plan out of nowhere, Kaew thought.

"Boss, we couldn't find Kaew anywhere." Speaking of the devil, one of Carl's bodyguards was at the other side of the door and reported the situation about a lost dog.

"No worries. He's with me in my bedroom."

"Mr. Secretary said that the new room was ready."

"Okay, I'll leave soon." Carl pulled Kaew in for a hug. The wind from the river leaped through the room. The later, the colder it got. It wouldn't be nice to stay here anymore.

In the end, Carl called his secretary, asking him to put a new keycard somewhere and telling everyone to leave. Though the secretary protested due to Carl's safety, the mafia just gave a cold reply that he would handle it from now on.

Tsar's Office

"He's a Thai breed, sir. He has brown eyes and white fur, but his ears and tail are black. Looks like he's just a puppy, probably not over 15." The operation team stood tall.

Two of their bosses were in front of them. The man in his middle age with brown eyes snapped a stern look at them. There was gray hair along his black hair. He tightened his fist and let go as he was lost in his thoughts. That boy wasn't t someone he was looking for. Although in foreigner's perspective, Asian people normally looked younger than who they actually were.

The other boss was a woman who was smoking her e-cigarette in a luxury office. She lowered it down, her bright red lips curled into a mocking smile.

"Thinking about your good old days, aren't you, Tsar?"

"…"

"You changed our plan all of the sudden just because you heard about a werewolf boy from Thailand. What are you expecting?"

"Get me that boy," spoke the man in Russian with his Thai accent.

"Why?" the woman next to him asked.

"Because I want it that way, Tsaritsa. Please, understand my point." His voice lowered.

Though these two agreed to disagree, the operation team cold only do what they were told. Tsar and Tsaritsa both ruled the organization. Tsaritsa was a pure breed that had been inherited for a long time. But the big boss Tsar was just a werewolf from Thailand. The werewolf authority was as similar as a wolf pack, the male alpha was always the one making a final decision.

Tsar's leadership was questionable at first because he was a different breed from a different country, and everyone was against him at first. But after two decades, there was no one who didn't bow to the Great Tsar. The business under his supervision spread across Europe and was growing in Asia. His enemy named Carl was about to be finished by tonight. However, a young Thai werewolf who appeared in front of that mafia and bared his fangs at his fellow had just turned his table around. He suddenly changed his mind and paid attention to that werewolf boy instead.

The female boss who had silver-gray hair and blue eyes straightened her lips tightly. It had been decades but his person, who she willingly accepted him in her life, still couldn't forget what happened in Thailand. Even a slight clue of his former mate and family could change his mind.

Despite wanting to scold him so badly, she just stood up gracefully and kept her mouth shut when she saw his brown eyes looking over that window. He wasn't looking at the view of Macao, instead, he was looking back to his memories. How did she know it? Because his usual stern eyes always saddened when he thought of his past.

Carl's Warehouse in Macau

The secretary had been working with Carl for almost 10 years and had been through a lot with him. However, it was strange to witnessed what had happened last night. The intruders who appeared in the middle of the 30th floor and vanished without a single trait. Not to mention the tiny boy in his boss's clothes… Mr. Carl always kept his distance with everyone and would never let someone wear his personal belongings. That was something that a secretary like him had to handle, wasn't it? He had never seen his boss with any boy. And why did he wanted to change his room?

"We've arrived, boss." The secretary came back to the reality.

"Mmm…"

Carl replied in his throat. He took a black leash and led Kaew to follow him out of the car. The dog who was always excited and cheerful became inactive though keeping his ears and his tail on guard. The loose leash showed that Kaew was walking closely next to Carl. The man bended down to patted Kaew's head and neck, whispering into dog ears that everything was fine. The big boss was being so gentle and everyone swallowed hard as they couldn't believe this man was actually their boss. Either commanding them to kill someone or to order dinner, Mr. Carl always had his poker face.

The tall man stopped walking at looked at the burn at the corner of his warehouse. The threat was just a warning and the person who did this to him must have been an imposter among his crew. Otherwise, they could have targeted the other area that contained dangerous goods such as bombs or arms. If they defamed that area, this warehouse could have become ashes in a split second.

"Is this all the damage?" Carl narrowed his eyes. What did they destroy then?

At the nook, golds and different bank notes were burnt. Though these golds were melted, they still had value, but not with these bank notes. The burning smell was still in the air.

"We got him, boss."

A black-suited man looking in a bad condition was pushed to a metal chair. His hands were locked by a handcuff while his head was covered under a black sack. Carl's fellows were standing right beside him.

The suspect was caught since last night. The inspection team already asked him questions, trying to get him reveal his secret. It wasn't difficult to get answers form him. In fact, he just surrendered and said that he was just a local mafia who was hired by someone. Well, it is too easy. They probable wanted to warn him, Carl thought.

Carl handed a leash to his secretary. Kaew became anxious and started walking back and forth. The chemical smoke confused his smell ability. His brown eyes looked around the place before looking at Carl who was slowly walking toward the suspect. Despite his worn-out movement, Kaew felt something odd and familiar with that man. His instinct kicked in and he tried to whine as a warning. Kaew tried to get close to Carl, but the secretary yanked and pulled the leash.

Carl gave his fellows a sign to take a sack off of the suspect. He frowned at that golden hair. Kaew started barking out loud that Carl had to turn around.

In a split second, the weak suspect bounced back and jumped over Carl's head effortlessly. The handcuff was broken into pieces and the metal chair fell on the ground loudly. The secretary cried in pain as the suspect bended his hand that was holding Kaew's leash.

"Kaew!"

Carl took his gun out hurriedly before shooting at the target. One of his bullets went through the man who was trying to pull and pick Kaew up. The intruder slightly lost his balance but he didn't even flinch. His green eyes glowed in anger as he bared his werewolf fangs. If his mission wasn't to kidnap this werewolf puppy to Tsar, he wouldn't hesitate to eat these men alive.

The big werewolf grabbed Kaew who was barking insanely by the neck. The Thai Bangkaew bit his arm heavily and it shattered his bone. The Russian werewolf snarled. Though he wanted to bite this puppy back, he couldn't as Tsar commanded to bring this pup unharmed. He grumbled in his throat before taking a strong boost to jump and get away from the warehouse.

That movement was faster than humans could handle. Before Carl's fellows could started firing their guns, their boss suddenly shouted and stopped them as he was afraid that Kaew could get hurt.

In less thana second, Kaew and that intruder disappeared from the sight. He was too reckless for taking Kaew with him today. He thought that the safest place for Kaew was right beside him and this happened. Although he had the strongest security guarding the caught suspect 24/7, that intruder still managed in to switch the position.

Carl gritted his teeth. It was his fault for being so reckless.
