Elijah paced back and forth, unable to contain his worry for Weyna. Meanwhile, Sarah's gaze remained fixed on the floor of the emergency department. She couldn't shake off the guilt that consumed her for not intervening earlier to stop the fight.
"Miss Weyna's relative?" The nurse's voice reached their ears and they immediately headed to the bed where the doctor was treating Weyna.
"How is she, doctor?" Elijah asked.
"Are you her husband?" the doctor asked, looking at Elijah, who was standing beside him.
Elijah remained silent for a few moments before shaking his head and saying, "Not yet, but we are planning to get married." Sarah was taken aback by Elijah's response, as she had no prior knowledge of their plans.
The doctor sighed and delivered the news, "I'm sorry to inform you that Miss Weyna has experienced a miscarriage. Given the early stage of the pregnancy, it is likely a result of the fall you mentioned earlier."
