Damien's elated smile as they reached the small restaurant on the corner of their street made Ziana grin. Her eyes shifted to the person beside him and scowled before Ivan dragged her inside.
The restaurant, tucked away in a quiet corner, exuded an old-world charm with its soothing wooden interiors and natural plants adorning every table. A half-wooden curtain separated the dining area from the bustling kitchen. As they entered, the bell attached to the glass door rang, alerting the women working inside who quickly emerged to greet their customers.
"Welcome," a middle-aged woman emerged from the kitchen with a warm smile, followed by an old lady in her early seventies. Damien's smile widened upon seeing her.
"Oh, you brought your friends," the old lady mumbled, smiling at the familiar faces from the neighborhood. The Brown siblings returned the smile and bowed slightly to the mother-daughter duo.
