Chapter 36 - 1.14.3 Aftermath

On the other hand, there was Luvi, enjoying the attention that came his way through Andy. Which made it harder for those wishing to do harm to him to disappear and stay low for a while.

Of course, he was aware why this was. Andy's achievement has caused a huge sensation in the whole academy. No, it would be better to say, it has caused a huge sensation in the whole city.

He was not one of the talented students, instead, he belonged to the weakest bunch who had no future as a hero. Not to mention, the bullying incident was still fresh in the mind of many and learning that the victim had suddenly become a white star hunter even with his limited talent caused a huge sensation in the academy.

"Of course not, the academy never helped. I believe the media knows how they treated him until the situation got serious. Lambert achieved everything on his own and if some people say otherwise and try to steal credit, they should be ashamed."

This was Luvi's first words to the media when he was approached by them this time.

The people in the media were well aware that Luvi was a friend of Lambert Anderson and was a blabbermouth that always exposed spicy information to them.

So they had followed instead of someone as straight as Andy who only gave simple answers of how he did it and how happy he was for his achievements.

On the other hand, these words of Luvi were directed at the academy, making it harder for them to use this achievement to promote themselves. Instead, his words just made them look worse.

"This little shit, what does he mean we didn't help?"

His words made the teachers look bad and made them feel useless.

But what he said were also true facts, so they couldn't speak much against it. Nor can they force him to change his tune.

So they did the next best thing.

"To honor your achievement, the academy is awarding a Scholarship, student Lambert." The vice principal said with a kind smile which was unbecoming of the annoyance she felt toward the friend of Andy.

As an Awakener academy, they can't just act oblivious of unprecedented achievements like these. Not to mention, the media were hounding them for more spicy news. More discrimination from the academy front which would bismerch their name a lot more.

Not to mention, this was also an opportunity, if they can buy off Andy's trust. Things might get easier in the future.

The reason Luvi had been able to speak so much poison for the academy is because Andy had given him full reign to him. He doesn't care what Luvi does. He is just here to make money and after some research on Andy, the vice principal was aware of this.

"In addition to the scholarship, we would also return your fees as well as add some bonus. This is the least we can do to own up to our mistakes."

Andy was no fool, this is why he denied Luvis' suggestion to hide his abilities and exposed it in front of everyone.

He was fed up with living like an insect. Getting beaten and abused by people more trashy and lazy than him, being looked down on having a weak ability and even shitier talent.

But look at those same people now, they were trying to brush away the past for a new future by giving some bribes.

So he learned one fact after a few days.

'Strength is all that matters in this world.' Before, these people never even cared for his existence.. But now they were worshiping him as some genius.

Of course there were few people that didn't believe him, but due to the current climate of the academy, they didn't try to do anything drastic.

"Yes ma'am. Thank you very much for this gift." Andy smiled, but then said nothing. Gladly accepting the gift but not reciprocating to this gift.

Which irked the vice principal a bit.

'His emotions are too calm… didn't they say he was desperate?' Originally, she had planned to use Andy in promotions and shutting up Luvi after he thinks he owes it to her this much at least.

But no, he was too calm. Which seemed bizarre.

So without shame she asked on her own. "The scholarship will be processed in a few days, remember to not miss the assembly on Thursday morning."

Of course she didn't say that in this assembly, there would be more people than just the academy staff and students. She would also invite some media personages that carry the same belief as her. Which would assure her that the articles from this event will only speak good about her academy.

But to her surprise, Andy wondered for a bit , then he denied.

"Sorry ma'am. But I usually can't visit the assembly in the academy as I am training normally during that time."

"Young man, I understand that your current achievements are through your hard work. But giving yourself some rest will do wonders. So just come to the Assembly, if you want to get your scholarship."

"..."

"Does it mean that you won't give it to me if I don't go to the assembly?"

Hearing Andy's words, the vice Principal sweated. She was aware that even though Andy didn't show it. He might be filled with hatred towards her as well as the academy.

Anyone in his position would feel the same. Even she was aware of the many mistakes her management or lack thereof did to the students of Andy's level.

And with those training techniques widely available to most awakeners. Things like this might happen a lot more often. Which would mean she had to warn some teachers and lightly punish some seeded students for their prior offenses.

But that was for the future. The present was way more important and might dictate how her academy will be seen to the outside world.

"Of course not, that is just a formality and a celebration of your achievement. You will get your scholarship, that is true without question."

"Then it doesn't matter if I don't visit the assembly?"

"..."

*****

"What was her face like?"

"Like… she seemed like she would kill me."

"Hah! Man, I wish you had recorded it… that b*tch annoyed me a lot last time. That smug face of hers was truly hateful."

"..."

"Brother, of course they would be, aren't you practicing with some plant poison?... Hell they Luvi and Andy had another one of their Biryani nights and talked a lot about the recent events.

Now, Andy was famous all over the place and he had been getting requests for contracts not just from other academies who promised to treat him better than Skyward, but some talent agencies have already sent him greeting gifts to show some goodwill to him.

"Hey, don't call her the B word, no matter how she is. She is still way older than us." Andy retorted, feeling a bit sad for the vice principal.

The stance he took today in her office was dictated to him by Luvi.

When Andy got the summons, Luvi came forward and gave him certain suggestions in different scenarios his head had cooked up. And out of the five possible scenarios he had mentioned, one of them came true.

And like a script, Andy read his lines, albeit taking pauses in between as he tried to recall what Luvi had said to him.

Of course he only did it because Luvi promised for the greatest returns this way.

"Brother, she has done nothing for me to respect her, instead, she has been nothing but a nuisance. So I would call her what I want." Luvi said while devouring a chicken leg piece in a single gulp.

The chicken was so soft, there was no need to even bite it, it easily fell off the bone.

"Still doesn't feel right… Oh yeah! Teacher Daarun also informed me about something else."

Hearing those words Luvi sweated a bit. Even though the last two days had been chaotic, Luvi had not forgotten to keep his watch over Daarun who was all smiles most of the time. But the fact remained that he had been injured by Andy's poisoned nails."??... What happened?"

"His wounds… they were healing at a very weak rate. He said that my nails might be poisonous."

even look purple. Like, it has poison written all over it."

"Now that you mention it, you are right. I will go tomorrow for proper certification, they might be able to tell what the full capabilities of my nails are."

"Yes.. you do that… Also, I heard there is a great food truck close to Hunter building. Please pack five of their most sold items, if possible."

"Ok, that is the least I can do."

Luvi sighed in relief a bit after learning that the poison was not that lethal. Which made it easier for him to focus on other matters.

'Yeah, today is the last meeting.'
