Chapter 40 - 1.16.1 He messed up.

"So I am to assume, you won't be answering any of my questions?"

What he heard from Musashi, his direct bodyguard, was absurd to say the least.

In a country as tightly protected as Japan, there was a bombing. And it was Aoto's home, no less.

Which made this whole situation worse than it already was. Now it was no longer a family matter, but with this bombing, it would include the government and even more powerful people who would consider it an attack on their honor.

Making it so that Aoto would come under countless investigations from here on out. Which would be a stain on his name and family. A kind of humiliation that the Fuji family hasn't seen in ages.

The Fuji family was also not so strong as to force the government to back down. Just like it hurt his pride that his son was involved in something illegal. The same was true for the government body, whose name would be sullied for allowing an attack like this to happen on their land.

And considering Aoto's movements in the last few days, one can see that he was involved in it somehow.

"Master Musashi, inform others that Aoto died in the bomb blast. Making it look like he was there when it happened."

The best way to deal with this situation?

Kill his own son.

Of course, not really. He only intends to keep him under watchful eye for a few years or until this whole situation is dealt with.

Not to mention, this way, he can slowly learn who his son was working with. And if the truth of the matter was up to Hiroto's taste and his son showed some promise, then he might allow him to see the sun again.

Albeit with a new face and identity.

On the other hand, Aoto was confused over what his father meant.

'What a bomb blast?.... What does it mean that I died?'

His mind ran and worked as hard as he could. But the mood changed a bit too fast and he was ignorant of what was going on. Which made it harder to properly consider the meaning of his father's words. Just like a fool, he actually thought that his father meant to kill him for a simple offense like leaving the family.

And make it look like a bomb blast.

So he took out the toy gun and aimed at Musashi. Which surprised the two present in the room.

"Father, I will be leaving… and you won't stop me in any way possible."

Hiroto Mushashi was confused over the absurd situation in front of their eyes. They even wondered who Hiroto was trying to fool with a toy like that.

But considering the mood of his son and how mentally exhausting it all might seem, he thought that his son was having a bizarre episode.

"Master Musashi, please take him down and put him in the guest room." So Hiroto Fuji ordered. Not intended to entertain his son anymore.

Enough time and honor has been wasted on this son of his. And he had no energy or mood to extract the answer from his son's mouth on his own. He can employ others to do the same and he won't have to see his own blood suffer from it.

That was what Hiroto thought until Aoto changed a slider on the toy gun and fired.

Then nothing.

The only difference was Master Mushashi that Hiroto so respected backed down a bit, while his nose and ears bled a bit.

"This?"

HIroto was surprised.

Mushashi was a Purple star hunter, the cream of the crop with the ability to assess danger through his wind control ability.

But even a person like that was not able to react or sense how dangerous that simple toy gun was.

Though, the damage done to Musashi was also not heavy. Having the physique at Purple star, the invisible blow from the gun only felt like a heavy punch that penetrated his head. And even though he bled, there was not much damage done to him.

But that was because he was not the target.

As after the initial shock was over. Aoto in a hurry pointed his weapon at his own father, while clicking the green button that he has been told to from FIX not so long ago.

Unaware that he had been played right in the hands of FIX. And even Luvi might not have thought things would progress to this level.

Luvi might be smart, but limited by his own lack of experience and understanding of who humans are and how they might act in stressful situations, he couldn't plan that further ahead nor predict the actions of a person properly.

The most he can have is expectations from those individuals.

Unlike FIX, who not only possessed superior judgment when it comes to understanding a person. But due to the nature of her work, she was used to manipulating people behind the scenes.

Her plan started the moment when she took down the two spies her father's men had placed in Aoto's group.

If she had let those alone, years might have gone by and Aoto might not be in this situation. The most they might think is that Aoto was doing some project on his side hiding from the eyes of others.

Making it so, that the only reason why there was a sudden increase in people keeping an eye on Aoto was because their spies accidently got exposed to the police, which caused them to reevaluate the people Aoto was working with.

After that, rest was just history.

Few actions here and few words there. Then at the end, giving Aoto an absurdly powerful weapon that did its job properly.

With the last straw that broke the camel's back being the explosion in Aoto's home. Where his precious mutated rats were kept.

Of course, all of this would end up ruining Aoto's life.

But was it any good to begin with?

The answer FIX came up with was a giant no.

Aoto was meant to be free, like an Impala running freely in the African expanse. He was a gift to the world and would have achieved great things, if not for his father to tame him and keep him in captivity.

But the other question was, did FIX actually had the right to force Aoto to choose like this, where his lack of understanding or judgment would change his life forever?

She didn't know. All she cared for was the goal.

'He will be the drug mule.'

A term that Luvi had spoken when alone in his room. But FIX has heard his words and knew what Luvi meant.

It was also why she was adamant in playing this small game with Aoto, while Luvi remained ignorant.

She didn't know the full extent of the danger rushing towards them. But she has chosen to believe Luvi and hence all her actions were justified.

-'Its for the greater good.'

These were the words that came to FIX's mind, as multiple drones directly broke the defense system of Aoto estate and raided the area where Aoto was.

It was time for the long awaited rescue.

*****

DreamMachine: How is he? Leaving his family would have been harder I presume?"

Luvi said, recalling the fun he had when his family had kicked him out. He even donated to a local orphanage due to how happy he was by being free of his family.

FIX: He is taking it better than I had expected. Still a bit shocked over the fact that his father was ready to kill him.

DreamMachine: I still can't believe a father would do something like that… But I guess, not everyone is as lucky as me.

Luvi was not talking about his father being good, but how he was let go of his family with lots of money that he burned in a few months time.

Hell, they still support him with an allowance. But it would be more like the government and laws forcing them to support Luvi until he is 18 and not out of their own pure will.

DreamMachine: So what is his plan for now?... I don't think he can go back to his father anymore. Is there any other way?...

FIX: I have talked it out with him. He will be moving to Russia and as I was going to meet up with Starhusky there anyways, I would bring Impala with me as well.

DreamMachine:... Then its good. But do tell him to talk with me. I wish to apologize… for what had happened with his life.

This was the conversation after Luvi ate biryani with Andy.

He was aware of the drone attack on Fuji estate in Japan from the news already. So he was looking forward to this conversation.

But as it was, Aoto was in no mood to talk. He was safely resting in a safe house, probably overthinking what his future might be like from now on.

And Luvi, for a lack of better word. Felt sorry for him.

Aoto was not him. Nor was he Aoto. So he won't know how he actually feels currently.

Did Aoto hate Luvi for pushing him in all this mess?

Did he regret ever joining the group?

Does he want to go back to his family?

Luvi knew none of it, nor can he apologize to Aoto for all of this at the moment.

He was just a guy on the internet.

Nothing more.
