"What? You mean you have never celebrated your birthday?" Adam raised his eyebrows, looking at her illuminating face under the light of lantern.
"I.. I entered the orphanage when I was 4 years old and was then shifted to girls hostel, owing to my good marks. But, I was very poor and had no money to pay for my education and I was hated by my rich classmates. So, how can you even expect me to celebrate my birthday." Amanda pursed her lips, looking in his dark eyes.
"Then who paid for your education?" He frowned a bit in confusion.
"Well, each year I was a topper in class and they gave me free education… which was more like scholarship. But, after I turned 16, and entered high school, I started doing odd jobs because the scholarship scheme was oy up to a few years. I had piled up debt and thanks to you, I paid it all. Now, I am a graduate in literature, with all my education loans paid." The girl smiled happily, looking at him gratefully.
