I escaped from the ballroom after about a million dances with Soren.
I wanted to rip my own heart right from its cage and just end my existence right then and there.
Not only was it infuriating to have to put up with someone I detested so bad, it was also just downright humiliating how much she loved to emphasize the power dynamic the sire bond gave her over me.
It was debilitating, being a slave to someone so vile and condescending.
I was being enslaved against my own mind and body, and I hated the feeling of unabated powerlessness that came with it.
I had spent decades building my image on a legacy of terror and fear. How unbecoming of me to now cower before another.
