It's purvi's birthday. I usually wake the kids early in the morning but I let them sleep in today. Adrik woke up early. Since it's bit chilly today , he lit fire in the room and helped me light fire in the fireplace.
I prepared warm honey water for him to drink. I made him oats with vegetables. After eating he went out to shop for other things that we need today. Previous night I have prepared the dry ingredients for cooking and also chopped vegetables.
Today I just need to cook them. First I have to make breakfast for my pack. I made some roti for the elder ones to eat with gur and a glass of milk will be perfect. They loves eating it anyways. Since the dough was ready it didn't take much time to make the rotis.
As I was done with that bhabi walked in. She came pretty early to help me. " Good morning bhabi...here have some tea. " I told her pouring her a cup of tea and handing her some roti and gur. " Thank you. I made breakfast early and fed my them early so that I can come here and help you. " She said with a big smile.
" Thank you so much bhabi.." I told her. " No problem... what are you making? " she asked as she watched me taking a boiled apple out of the pot. " I am making breakfast for arav. " I told her.
" What are you making for him ? " She asked me. "Oats " I replied , I feed him oats so that he stays full for sometime and it's good for him too. " You really feed him various
things. " She said . " Helps with the growth you know. " I told her.
" I have grinded some oats and see boiled two spoons in water. Now I will squish the apple and add on it , also add half a banana and one spoonful of milk powder. " I told her while making the breakfast. Arav just loves to eat it.
I let the oats cool down and went to wake the kids up. They woke up without making any fuss. " Good morning birthday girl " I pulled purvi in my lap giving her a kiss on her cheek. She giggled and said " Thank you. "
Than I gave a kiss to the boys who acted like we don't need it girl...but would cry their eyes out if I skip it. I took Arav from his crib. He looked happy and not a fussy baby that he is some morning.
I helped Arav clean his face and brush his one teeth , while I supervised the kids brushing and cleaning up themselves. I called them for breakfast and bhabi helped me serve them breakfast.
I took Arav in my lap to feed him his breakfast. He looks very excited for it. I took a spoon and started to feed him breakfast.
" Purvi could have feed him before eating breakfast" said bhabi sitting next to me.
" She can't feed him , she is still little. And Purvi is hungry too..." I told her , her thinking can't change over night. " What was the powder you mixed in the children's milk. " asked bhabi.
" It's paste of nuts like Almond , cashew and peanut and little sugar for taste. " I told her and she nodded. After feeding the kids I Assigned them to do some work. I made Arav sit in his little bed close to the ground. Adrik has made fence around it so that the little guy can't go out of it.
I gave him some toys to play with. The boys wanted some private time out of daily curriculum that I have set for them. I don't know what they are making for purvi but it's the thought that counts. So I let them be.
Purvi wanted to look after Arav so I let her do that. She sat with her toys and both brother and sister started playing together. Since they're all set , I can focus on cooking now. I have to make something special.
As I returned in the kitchen I saw bhabi cutting some veggies. I sat down to help her. " You know since you're celebrating purvi's birthday you have to do the same for all of them. " She said pointing out a fact.
" I know and I am not going to do anything extra , just family lunch. More reasons to eat together. " I told my bhabhi and she laughed.
" I will not spoil her or her brothers. It's just to show them that they matter to me. They're important for me. " I explained her. Adrik came back from the market.
I took the bags from his hands and he went to look after the kids. I prepared some tea for him to drink. Than went back to cook. Today's menu is fried rice, daal , brinjal fry , fish fry , fish curry , meat and for desert we will have cake.
" Your cooking style is so different and it smells so nice " said bhabi. " It's just what I learned from books. " I told her and she believed me. " Now we will make a desert..." I told her. Apparently in the story the author never mentioned about cakes so no one knows about it.
So I with her help made a cake in the pressure cooker and she was amazed. She never saw anything like it . " It's so good and smells so nice. " Said bhabi looking at it. I smiled and told " people will buy them
right? " I asked her.
" Of course and I will help you with everything. " She said with a sweet smile in her lips. " That's all I need. " I ensured her. Together we cooked everything.
It's not exactly like a birthday party. Elders came to bless her , Adrik got her a new dress and a lovely lunch together. And she is happy with what she has. She is very precious.
Elders blessed her and off she went to play with her brothers and sisters. Soon the whole family was done eating and bhabi helped me clean the table. It's better to let him know now...they have a right to know it.
" Next month when the winter gets over I am sending my daughter to school. " I haven't asked them , I let them know. It's my decision and I will do whatever I want.
