" Next month when the winter gets over I am sending my daughter to school. " I haven't asked them , I let them know. It's my decision and I will do whatever I want.
" What do you mean send your daughter to school? Don't you know girls studying can only bring badluck in the family. " Said my MIL in a strain voice.
" Who said girls who reads and writes brings bad luck ? I know how to read ....are you trying to say that I am bad luck for you. " I asked her , can't believe how backward the society is...soo much to learn.
" My family broke after you came that's what happen ...and who is your daughter? That's our family daughter and next year we will look for a groom for her. No nonsensical thing as studies will be done for her. " Said my MIL. I looked towards Advik and he was silent about it.
For the first time I am so disappointed at him. Even he thinks that his mother is right. But I have to stand up for my daughter. I have to take care of her.
" Mother ,if I remember it was you who came in my house asking for my hand. So that I can be mother of your grandchildren's . So now they're my kids. And since you mention that now it's two family. Than it's me who will decide what to do with my daughter. " I told her in an angry voice.
" Now I can't even say anything about my grandchildren's future.....why ? Advik are you not listening your wife. " Said my MIL almost with teary eyes. I felt like I am watching a series in my phone.
" Send my grandson's to school , why sending the girl ? Trying to waste hard earn money of my son. " Said my MIL . With her each sentence I hate her even more...but it's not her fault. The society is like that.
" Wife , control your words. Advik and his family has separated, you must not interfere in there lives. " Said my father in law in a calm voice.
" It's her children and she has full right to decide what's best for her children's. And a true man's money belongs to his wife only. So you don't interfere in that. Daughter don't mind your mother's words. " he said in calm and respectful voice. Really true gentleman of the family.
" Husband...what are you saying? " asked my MIL to her my father in law. " I am telling the truth, only daughter in law can decide what she wants in her own family. You go ahead dear. You have our blessings. " Said father in law.
" Thank you father and sorry if I was rude to mother just now. Daughter in law didn't mean it. " I told him and he nodded with a smile. " Your anger shows your love for your daughter. I am happy to see that you have taken them all in your heart as your own. " He said. My MIL was the first to leave.
" Don't worry about her , she will
understand. " said my father in law and left. My sister in law patted my shoulder and left. Brother in law was still standing in the veranda. His eyes were on the ground.
" Explain your wife not to do such thing or other families will also get bad ideas. Some can't afford to do such luxurious waste of money. " Said brother in law and walked out of my varanda.
I know why is he concerned...he has many daughters and if all they wants to study , he is scared that he can't afford it. I understand his worries so didn't argue with him. After they left , I took out all the utensils to wash them.
Bhabhi helped me to wash few utensils but plates , spoons, little bowls are still left to be washed. Advik sat next to me. " Mishti let me help you. " he said trying to take the utensils from my hand but I stopped him. I don't need his help.
" You don't have to do it. I can do it myself " I told him and stopped him from helping. He was silent for sometime than went inside the house. As I washed the dishes, he cleaned the kitchen and the living room where the kids were playing together.
I didn't said him anything. After sometime kids came back home. Purvi was wearing a beautiful crown and was holding a paper wand , which isn't professionally made but looks good.
" Mummy look brothers has made it for me. " She said with a proud smile in her face.
" Just like the story you told us few days ago" said Pradip . " I see , you guys have done a good job. Our wash your hands and feets and take a nap. When you wake up purvi, Arun and Pradip will work in your Alphabets and the words I taught you. And Arun will draw me a nice picture of today's party. " I told him and they agreed without any argument.
All the kids washed their hands and feets and went in their rooms to take a nap. I took Arav in my lap but he is wide awake. He isn't showing any sign of sleepyness.
I am trying to pat him to sleep and he started playing with my hand. Such a naughty kid I must say. I try to make him sleep but he just stays wide awake. After some really hard struggle he was finally asleep.
Now the sleeping arrangements is like , three brothers sleeps together. Arav and purvi sleeps in next room with me and Advik.
Purvi and Arav sleeps in middle of Advik and me. But today he will sleep in the guest room . And not today , from today he will sleep in the guest room. I closed the door of my room and lay still. I am very angry with him.
So today in his own house he has to sleep in the guest room. And as for sending purvi to school I will do it. I will earn my own money and support my daughter.
