Tick…tock…tick…tock
Now it's 12 o'clock in the afternoon, and I have approximately an hour till I can finally go home. Today, I sighed too many times. I did not question my best friend, why she left me and went to the canteen with her tablemates. I'm simply too lazy to open my mouth. My English teacher is talking about the lesson that I need to learn today, which is literature. I didn't pay attention to what she was saying. My English teacher is an Indian teacher who has been in this school for almost 10 years. She made it through. I wouldn't last that long if I became a teacher. Don't ask me why, I'm too lazy to find the answer.
"All right, student, I'd like to talk about a choral speaking competition that will be held at SMK Indiana Jones next month. I want my students who want to participate in this competition to stand in front of the class." My Indian teacher stated calmly. There are murmurs among my classmates regarding this competition.
"Did you want to be a part of it? That sounds interesting. " I asked my best friend who sits behind me. "No, I'm not interested. I'm too scared." My best friend stated, shaking her head. "Why are you scared? Wait...you can feel scared, but it's normal to be scared every now and again. I, too, am scared." I respond to the last sentence quietly. "No, my answer is absolutely no." She responded strongly. "Okay, okay, you lose." I answer. I moved up to the front, next to my other classmate, and stood there, lost in thought. 'What the heck am I volunteering to do?'.
I sat there dazed. It's now 3 o'clock in the evening. I intend to watch the entire Transformers series after school. This is outside of my scheduled time. I lowered my eyes to the script for the choral speaking. It's lots of English, but it's damn long. It's nearly two pages long. I sigh as I flip the script. We began reading the script and distributing the lines.
Ah, I forgot to tell you guys. I am the one who will become the conductor who will stand alone in front of my teammates. 'I called them teammates, woah, what a good start', and had to recall all the scripts and their lines as well. 'There's too much work to do.' I whined softly.
Why did they decide to choose me to be the conductor? Even though I've done it before, I don't want to be a conductor again. It's as if they're forcing me to do it. They did not seek my view on this matter. I let out another deep sigh.
I swept my sight to my classmates, aka my teammates, who had already started memorizing their lines, and I followed my gaze to my juniors, who are my new teammates. We have new teammates because only 8 of us are participating in my class.
'I hope this team is easy to lead,' I whisper softly.
------------------------------------
Choral speaking: Is a group of people who use various voices and combinations to bring out the meaning and the beauty of the poetry passage or prose.
Conductor: A person who directs the performances.

Poetic feels:
Struggling in the deep water,
Facing it alone in the dark,
Wind passing the hope whisper,
To give courage,
Shield and sword,
To overcome it.
