My hands slapped my face. Tazanna walked out on me that night; I must have really made her mad. I had no idea that she already knew so much. I can never fool her, and I was too careless, opening my mouth here and there. I shouldn't have done that. I should have been more cautious.
A knock came on the door of my office as Piper made her entrance. "What the hell is going on with you, brother? You've been making mistakes since yesterday; this isn't like you!"
"I have?"
Piper scoffs. "I have?" she mimicked. She opens a file and glares down at me. "Look at this! How could you have signed on here? Are you the COO? Did you even read the whole thing?" I snatch the file from her hand to check it myself, and it is true. I must be too occupied to make a mistake like this, and did she say I have been like this since yesterday? Ah, I should get myself together. It is not like me to get distracted by other things while at work.
