Mar kept to his word of braiding Blue's hair. Since her hair barely reached her shoulders, there's not much for him to work with. Liam was braiding one side while the black haired alpha was braiding the other side. After they're done, Blue pulled out a tiny black rubber band from her pocket so that Mar could tie both sides together, creating a crown braid. The majority of the omega's hair was left untouched, and Liam's side is a bit bigger than Mar's side, but that's okay because Blue isn't complaining. She giggled as she twilled around in her sundress and rejoiced in her new hair style.
They're in the middle of the garden, relishing in the safety of tall green bushes withering in the heat. It's been a while since they got here, and there's not much to do except gossiping in peace. Blue stood up from her seat in the middle of the two alphas as soon as they were done with her hair.
"What would you do if he says no?" Liam asked out of the blue, and jet black eyes fell on him.
"He meant what would you do if Rex doesn't wanna court you back?" Mar repeated his companion's question.
"He won't s-say no." Blue responded with a neutral tone.
The platinum blond alpha sighed and rested his head on his hand, which was rested on his knee. "How are you so sure? You told us he said okay, but is that really enough?"
"Yeah, people change their minds all the time, baby Blue." His best friend leaned his head on Liam's shoulder. "We just don't trust Rex."
Blue didn't respond. Instead, she moved her eyes to the various exotic flowers in the garden. Liam can't name any of them, except the yellow roses. After a while, the omega broke the silence in her small voice.
"It's alright if he r-rejects me." Her voice was almost trembling. "I u-understand his p-point."
"But..." Mar's face changed from shock into anger real quick, and Liam felt his blood boil, too. "You won't do anything?! He used you for sex, then! You can't be serious!"
"What e-else c-can I do?" Round black eyes looked at the two alphas, and whatever they wanted to say to her died in their throats. "I a-already d-disgraced myself enough when I asked h-him to sleep with me. It's my f-fault. I know I am worth nothing as an omega without a s-scent, and I understand that I w-will never be an ideal m-mate for anyone."
Tears gathered at the edges of those black eyes, and that's when Liam knew the omega was into Rex deeper than they initially thought. It's not just the lust he saw in there, and maybe she loved him enough to listen to his heartbeat like the platinum blond alpha does with his companion.
Well, years ago when they were in their teens, Blue liked Rex enough to listen to the pilot's documentary presentation about a random snail or crab they found on the beach, and Rex was basking in the praises that Blue threw his way. That's how Liam got the impression that Rex memorized animal faces just to impress Blue. Moreover, Blue was labeled a useless omega by Mr. Aster and her parents just because she doesn't have a scent, and no one wants a useless omega, so Rex would stay away from her for the reason that if he gets with her, his father won't be happy.
"Blue..." It was Mar's turn to tremble as he talked. "You're not worthless."
Liam took in a deep breath and put his hand on the omega's shoulder. "You're too good for Rex anyways. Hell, too good for anyone here, really. Remember that."
Blue pressed her lips into a line before she nodded at the alpha's words. Her black eyes moved from the two alphas and was cast on the sand stone path.
"Let's go ruin someone's day." Mar stood up from the bench with renewed energy.
A small smile came on the omega's face after she wiped away her tears.
"Come on, Blue." Liam stood up and pointed his index in a random direction. "I think I heard a dog somewhere. Dyson's here, so let's go pet his dog!"
The tense mood was lifted back up when the trio ran out of the garden, jumping over flower bushes and running over some freshly cut grass.
Despite her height, Blue kept up with the alphas just fine. At the airplane runway, a man was holding an entire dog in his arms while two butlers were loading his two suitcases on a trolley.
"Dyson!" Mar shouted for his brother, and the man turned around with a smile on his face.
The golden retriever in his arms barked excitedly at the people coming her way. Her owner put her down on the ground, and he released her.
Liam opened his arms and bent down to scoop up the dog after she ran three steps away from Dyson. Spoiled little shit, she's too loveable.
"Destiny!" Blue began to pet the dog in every spot she could reach while Mar ran to hug his older brother. The omega's hand was scratching the dog's neck while Liam was holding her tight to himself. "Good girl! Yes, you're the b-best girl!"
The platinum blond alpha held the dog in his arms, grinning from ear to ear as she was being petted. He remembered a few years ago, Destiny was a tiny little puppy that Dyson picked up from down town White Pearl, which is a couple of miles away from where they are now. She's one of a litter of six, and the owner of her mother was giving away the puppies for free. Mar wasn't impulsive enough to get one, but Dyson was. His reason to keep her? He'll take her with him after the summer vacation ends, so Mr. Aster allowed it.
Blue eyes lifted up from the happy dog and landed on someone walking away from a jet next to the one Dyson just came out of. Deep brown eyes met sky blue, and Liam pressed his lips into a hard line.
"Blue." Rex's baritone voice caught her attention, and she snapped her head towards him as if she wasn't looking for him in the first place.
"Hi!" The omega female yelped, her hands are still holding on to Destiny.
