The sun was setting when the two alphas ran outside the living room, following the pilot and the omega who's walking next to him.
Rex slowed down his pace when he realized she was half-running to keep up with him. The two younger alphas caught up to them, and Mar was the first to be vocal.
"What the hell was that?" The black haired alpha said to his older brother. "You're fucked."
"I figured." The pilot sighed as he stepped on to the dock.
"Lord..." Liam cringed as the words came out of his mouth. "Was that the surprise you're scared we're gonna ruin? You ruined it yourself pretty well."
The older alpha looked away from them, and his eyes went to the setting sun.
"Pack up." Blue's voice was monotonous and barely audible, but it caught all three alpha's attention.
"Wha—" The black haired alpha didn't get a chance to fully express his surprise since the omega began talking again.
"Not you, M-Mar." Those round black eyes looked up at the pilot. "Pack up. We're going back to my place. I'll text Rody to see if his friend's apartment complex still has an opening for us."
What the hell?
"Okay." Rex stopped in his tracks. His deep brown eyes didn't betray any emotions as he looked at the omega. "Aren't we gonna pick up Roger and Raven first?"
"I'll tell Jake to get them to us." The confidence in her voice was absolute, no stuttering, no hesitation.
"Wait, wait, you're leaving?" Liam gasped out.
"Yeah...?" The pilot sounded a little unsure himself. "Blue, we can take my car."
The omega gave him a single nod. "Now I'm going to get my s-suitcase. See you in five minutes, in your room."
With that, the omega turned around and walked back into the living room. Her silhouette disappeared up the stairs where all the guest rooms are, and the three alphas stood there on the dock.
"Okay..." Rex took a deep breath. "Now if you excuse me, I'm gonna go pack up."
"What the fuck?" Mar mumbled as he followed his brother into another hallway where the older Aster children resided. There's no other reaction more fitting to this scene.
The platinum blond alpha followed them around, unsure of what the hell just happened. Rex tried to ask for her hand in marriage, all the parents said no, and then Blue told him to pack up and leave?
When the three alphas made it into Rex's room (which is not so different from their own but instead of having two beds and two desks, Rex's room just has one bed and a sad and lonely desk in the other corner of the room), the oldest alpha slammed the door shut, his back then hit the wooden door as if he's blocking the two younger alphas from going back out or blocking others from coming in. Then, he took in a deep breath.
"You look like you're gonna have a panic attack." Mar pointed out as he walked to sit on his brother's bed. "No more dino sheets. Disappointing."
"Shut up." Rex snarled back as he composed himself.
Liam stood in front of the pilot as he dragged himself to the closet. With more force than necessary, he pulled the closet door open and dropped his suitcase to the floor with a bang. It seems that Rex has been here for a while longer than they have because he's taking quite a lot of clothes out of the closet and chucking them into his suitcase, instead of just living out of his suitcase like Liam and Mar were doing.
"You okay?" The platinum blond alpha poked the pilot a little more.
"I'm moving in with Blue without talking to her about it even once." Rex deadpanned. "Do you think I'm okay?"
"That's a lot better than everything else you planned, isn't it?" Mar's voice taunted his brother from across the room. "You're better off being cut off from this family and living rent free with someone who actually cares about you."
"You're right." The pilot let out a laugh; this laugh was genuine.
"What are you gonna do then?" Liam watched as the older alpha zipped up his suitcase. "Stay with Blue and lay low?"
"Blue will most likely cut off all contacts with her family." Rex stood up and dusted his hands. "Except Jake. We still need our babies back."
"Your what?" The black haired alpha laughed from the bed.
Liam couldn't help but chuckle. "Yeah, keep posting Roger and Raven. I'm gonna miss them."
There's a knock at the door, and the platinum blond alpha was close enough to open it. A pair of round black eyes looked up at him.
"Welcome into the man cave." The taller alpha grinned, and Blue giggled as she pushed her way inside.
She set her suitcase next to the bed, and Mar gave a glance at it.
The black haired alpha grinned as he gently shoved the omega. "You haven't touched anything inside that suitcase yet."
"T-true." Blue nodded.
Time to address the elephant in the room.
"So..." Liam clapped his hands together to catch their attention. "You're basically eloping?"
A tint of red tainted Rex's tanned face, and he looked away, pretending to check his closet one last time before they left.
Blue shrugged at the question, her peachy cheeks were pinker than a moment ago, but she didn't point it out.
"I'll take that as a yes." The platinum blond alpha grinned.
"The sooner you're out, the better." Mar said from his place on the bed. He's giving the couple a soft but sad look, as if he's mourning something that's already lost. "We're depending on the old fuckers thinking that you're gonna crawl back into the dining room any minute now."
A sly smile came on Blue's lips, and she ran towards Mar, giving him a hug. The black haired alpha hugged her back tightly. After she was done with Mar, she turned around and faced Liam. The platinum blond alpha bent over so he could hug her, and he patted her back after a moment. She's a family friend, now a friend.
Rex was watching them from the closet, and for once, he was smiling.
"Mar, if you have questions, you know where to find me." The pilot opened the door, ready to go.
"I haven't seen it yet." The black haired alpha jumped off the bed. His feet took him a few more steps so that he's next to Liam. "But I will."
"Good." The older alpha gave them a mock salute.
The four of them made their way to the garage, so far no one came to stop them yet. They loaded the suitcase into the back of a black SUV, and Blue gave them one last wave as Rex drove out of the gates.
Liam and Mar were standing behind the gates as the swirly iron bars closed shut.
If the platinum blond alpha ever told his parents that he wants to mate with his best friend and they disagree, would they have to do the same thing?
