Chapter 4 - Not Yet

As they entered the investigation room, Eliana started having a panic attack. The room got blurry in her eyes, and everything seemed black except for the one light hanging on the roof. It got her more terrified. The sound of footsteps being echoed in the empty room was not helping either. Her vision got blurry because of the tears filling her eyes. She was fighting with her biggest trauma. However, she was still trying to hide the fear that was taking over her. She didn't want to show her weakness to her biggest enemy.

'Be strong, Eliana. Remember, there is nothing to be afraid of. Just act normal. Everything is fine,' she cheered for herself.

As soon as they got into that room. He left her arm and pointed at the chair, signaling her to sit. She hesitantly went to that chair. She was walking to the chair, remembering her dark past inside that room, to be specific on that chair.

** Flashback **

'SHUT UP YOU SLUT!! HOW DARE YOU SAY THAT!' The man in her memory yelled at her.

'B..B...Believe..me..s..sir..I..I..' he cut her by slapping her across the face.

** Flashback end **

She shook her head and wiped her tears, and rested her arms on the table in front of her, putting her head above her arms as she closed her eyes. She then started humming a song to calm herself down a bit.

Riccardo went to the forensic room where the powders were being checked. He couldn't wait to confirm that they were cocaine so he could take her to jail. He continuously checked his watch until the result was revealed.

"It's cocaine," the chemist confirmed, making him jump with happiness.

"I got her," he said, rushing towards the investigation room only to find her sleeping on the table. As he got closer, he heard her humming a song swinging her legs on the chair. His heart suddenly felt warm seeing her like this. He quickly shook his head to prevent the thoughts and called her. She wasn't listening.

"ELIANA?!!" he shouted since it was his fifth time calling her name. She yawned in an attempt to hide her fear.

"Yes, babe," she stretched, making herself comfortable.

"Did you have a nice nap?"

"Yeah, I was dreaming about you,"

"Really, I don't think it is nice for a Mafia to dream about a detective,"

"Mine was magical,"

"Like dying in prison,"

"More of screaming on your bed," she winked at him. He is so pissed that she was this calm even when things are going his way.

"Why did you hide the cocaine?" he got serious.

"That's not how you start, detective. First, you should say,' You have a right to remain silent. Every word you speak is held as evidence against you.'," She smiled, seeing the annoyed look on his face.

"You know the law pretty well," he said sarcastically.

"I surely do,"

"Since you know the law well enough, can we proceed to our investigation," he finally sat in front of her.

"I'll wait for my lawyer," she leaned back, trying to relax as her tension went higher with the beat of her heart.

"I hate you," he uttered. She looked into his eyes.

"You have pretty boring eye color. Doesn't like ninety-five percent of people have brown eyes?" she tried to change the topic. He was still silent, trying to figure out what was going on inside her head. "What if we have a child? Will she have your eyes or mine?" she continued as she rested her chin on her palm. He was still confused about what she was doing, although he knew that something was not right. "She will have my eyes for sure. Yours will be boring," she answered her question.

"Are you okay?" he asked the question she had been avoiding for the past two hours.

"I'm perfectly fine, babe,"

"Then act like it,"

"What if I don't," he was about to say something, but the knock on the door interrupted him. It was his colleague.

"Riccardo, there is an order,"

"What order?"

"To release her," he hesitantly said not to make his friend disappointed.

"What?! Why?"

"They found the girl who gave her the cocaine and they said this was some kind of setup against the Cassidy family,"

"Bullshit, who on the earth would do that?"

"You know that they have a lot of enemies,"

"So you're defending her,"

"I'm trying to be reasonable here,"

"Reasonable my foot! Don't you know how many people died because of her?!" he pointed at her.

"I can hear you," she said offended by how he was talking about her.

"I don't care,"

"Can you let me go now? This place is boring,"

"I'm not finished yet,"

"Me neither," she winked at him as she stood up. She was about to pass him but he grabbed her arm.

"It's not over yet,"

"I never said it was," she smiled at him before yanking her arms from his grip. She finally left that room.

When she went out, she was welcomed by a tall masculine man who was waiting impatiently for her. He wore a black suit along with a black tie and shirt. His ocean-blue eyes followed every single bit of her movement as she walked toward him. Worry frowned his perfectly shaped brows and anger clenched his jaw, sharpening his jawline more than it was. Her lips curved upward when she saw him right in front of her. He couldn't wait any longer as he rushed to her, pulling her into his warm embrace.

"Are you okay, Amorina? Did they hurt you? Tell me, did he do anything to you?" he kept questioning, checking her whole body as if he was trying to find any scars and missing pieces.

"I'm fine, love. Someone just thought that they could end Eliana Álvarez Cassidy," she said, knowing that Riccardo was right behind her.

"It's not that easy, especially when I'm alive," he glared at the detective, who was behind Eliana.

"Edoardo Andres Bianchi, I wasn't expecting the biggest Mafia-like you here,"

"Anything for Amorina," he said, pulling her closer by her waist. She smirked at his disgusted look.

"A mafia saving another mafia, that's more like it,"

"A man who is ready to do anything for his love,"

"I will make sure that you end up in jail, Cassidy,"

"I'd like to see you try," she gave him a gentle smile before turning her attention to her fiance. "Shall we go, Caro? I'm starving," she pouted, making him giggle at her cuteness.

"Jezz, can you act like your age?" Riccardo cringed.

"I have never been this age, so I don't know how to act like it," she sassily answered, making her man proud. "Have you finished the paperwork?" she asked as she looked at Edoardo.

"I have, although they took a lot of time," he complained.

"It's their only chance to have me in here. Of course, they want to make it last longer,"

"That's true," he confirmed, pinching her cheek. "Let's go now," he said as he intertwined his tattooed hand with hers. She spun her neck a bit to see rage-filled Riccardo.

"It's not over," he mouthed. She winked at him before leaving with her fiance. "It's not over until I see you in jail," he said as he tightened his fist.

Edoardo and Eliana reached their car, and he gently opened the passenger door for her. She smiled warmly at him. He then entered the driver's seat and started the engine. There was silence between the two of them until Edoardo decided to break it.

"How is your sugar baby, Amorina?" he asked her with a little bit of jealousy in his voice.

"Good, why did you ask?"

"I heard you went to the club with him," he tightened his grip on the wheel.

"I was bored."

"You could have called me."

"Why?"

"We would have some fun."

"I want my legs," she replied with a smug on her face.

"I want them too," he responded as his hands caressed her thighs.

"My legs or the thing between them?"

"I wouldn't mind having a bonus," he lowered his voice seductively.

"Shut up,"

"I thought you liked it when you hear your name being screamed from my mouth." he turned to face her.

"You're being extra flirty today."

"I'm always flirty with my Amorina."

"And, Amorina would appreciate it if your hands stop moving upwards," she said, removing his hands from her thighs. He grinned at her actions.

"Seriously, when are you going to leave him?" he said, annoyed by the thought of another man touching her.

"Look, Caro, we don't have that kind of relationship. And you know why I have him. So stop being jealous," she teased him a bit. He stopped the car and looked directly into her eyes. His stare was showing his possessiveness.

"Why would I be jealous, Amorina? You're mine, right?" He simply asked, looking at her. She smiled and pecked his lips.

"No doubt," she replied. He held her hand and kissed it.

"And I'm yours," he said, claiming her lips.
