/Ricardo's POV/
"Is this some kind of joke?!" I asked as I barged into my boss's office.
"Have some respect, Detective!"
"Yeah, some respect for someone who ruined all my efforts."
"What do you want me to do? The order came from the higher officials."
"You know how many people have suffered because of her, right?"
"You don't have enough evidence to say that."
"I could if you didn't interrupt," I said, "and don't tell me the 'higher officials' shit again," I looked dead into his eyes.
"Look, Ricardo," he sighed as he stood up, "I know you are frustrated. But you have to know something. You are not dealing with a random robber from the street. It's Eliana Álvarez Cassidy, the mafia queen," he was right, and I hated that. As much as I hate to admit it, she is very powerful.
"You're right. I need to be more careful."
"Why don't you have some rest? It will clear your mind. It was a tough day for you,"
"I know. Thanks to her." I forced a giggle.
"And don't take it too personally."
"It's already too personal," With that, I went out. At that same time, I received a phone call. I swear if it's her, I will kill myself. Unfortunately, it was my girl. I smiled as I picked it up.

"Hey, babe," my lips curved upwards in excitement.
"Hey, love. Are you free?"
"I'm actually expensive, but I can be free for you," I smirked, imagining her blushing cheeks.
"Stop," she whined, "I just wanted to ask you out."
"You know why I love you?"
"Because I'm pretty."
"Because you know what I need."
"So, you're saying that I'm not pretty?"
"You are more than that."
"Thanks, babe."
"Where are you? Let me pick you up," I said, wearing my jacket.
"I'm in front of your office," she replied, making my heart skip a beat.
"Are you serious?" Just then, my door swung open, revealing the reason for my joy. My face immediately lit up at the sight of her beautiful face.
"Surprise," she smiled as she hung up the phone.
"Why didn't you call?" I pulled her into my arms, sniffing her vanilla scent.
"I called you many times today. In fact, I wanted to see you earlier. My boss gave me time off today," she said. I looked at my phone to find 25 missed calls from her. I bit my lip in anger.
"Sorry, love. It was a busy day," I pecked her lips.
"I understand," she wiped the lipstick from my lips. I caught her hand and planted a soft kiss on it.
"Thank you," I caressed her cheek, "Let's go now," I took her hand. It was so soft that I could hold it for my entire life. When we reached the parking lot, I opened the passenger door for her. After I made sure that she sat comfortably, I went to mine and started the engine. Fifteen minutes later, we arrived at her favorite restaurant.
It was a simple yet fancy restaurant. The lights pointed at every single corner of the room and shined through the glasses, making it outstand the darkness. I parked the car in front of the restaurant and opened the door for her. I held out my hand, which she took smiling.
"After you, my lady," I slightly backed off to let her in.
"I feel like a princess," she lowered her head as she went inside.
"Like you are,"
"Stop it." She hit my chest. I chuckled at her and pulled a chair, letting her sit comfortably. "Thanks," she gave me a warm smile, and I kissed her head before sitting in front of her. Later, the waitress came and took our orders.
"So, how was your day?" she rested her chin on her palm.
"Tough." I sighed, "how about yours?"
"Not bad,"
"You said your boss gave you a day off, right?" she gave me a nod, "What happened? I thought your boss was all grumpy," she laughed at my expression.
"His girlfriend wanted him on his way to a meeting."
"And he canceled it?" she raised her brows in answer, "He must love her very much."
"I guess so," she played with the tissue on the table.
"I love you," I caressed her hand. She gave me a soft smile.
"Here is your food," the waitress spoke, grabbing our attention. She then started setting our table. "Enjoy your meal," she left after smiling at us. I waited for her to take the first bite.
"Is it good?"
"It's so delicious."
"I'm glad you liked it," I said, digging into my meal.
We finally finished our meal and started talking about some random things. I love spending time with her. I forget about all my stresses when I see her face. But unfortunately, my stresses love to chase me. My phone rang, and it was the source of all my tension. I excused myself to pick it up. Cause if I don't, there is no guarantee that she wouldn't show up here.

"What do you want now?" I held all my anger in my fist.
"I couldn't sleep."
"So?"
"Come on. I'm the one who should be angry."
"Don't you have a fiance?" I could feel my blood boiling every time she speaks.
"He's sleeping."
"So wake him up. You're his responsibility, not mine!"
"You're responsible for waking me up."
"Listen, Eliana. Stop calling me. I'm tired of your games and you. Leave me alone for the love of God!" I almost pleaded.
"Are you with Regina?" she said, making me silent. "I knew it." she laughed loudly.
"Just tell me what you want." I massaged my temple.
"Regina Fernandez, what a beautiful name."
"Eliana, I swear. If you lay a finger on her—"
"You will kill me?" she mocked. "Boring,"
"Eliana, this is between us. Stop involving others."
"Don't worry, all my evil intentions are towards you," she lowered her voice, "besides, it will be boring to use the old method. Unless," she paused,"if hurting her means making you miserable, I think I'll have a second thought," her tone was kind of sarcastic.
"Hurt her, and you will see the worst side of me!" I tightened my grip on the sink
"Tempting," she whispered. "Are you in the middle of sex?"
"What?" I was confused because it was a random question.
"You are being grumpy."
"Eliana,"
"Yes, babe."
"Go to sleep."
"Caring for me? Not bad,"
"Good night," I hung up, not wanting to hear what she had to say. I looked at myself in the mirror and sighed loudly before splashing some water on my face to remove the bad vibe she had just given me. I don't want to ruin Regina's mood because of her.
When I came back to the seat, Regina was kind of pissed. Her eyes were watery, and her face was bright red. She was continuously fanning her face, cursing someone under her breath
"Is everything okay?" I held her hand, bringing her back to reality
"Yeah, can we go out?" She slid her hand from mine
"What's wrong?"
"Nothing," she shouted. "Please, babe. Let's just go," she grabbed her purse.
"Okay," I signaled the waitress to bring me the bill. She brought it right away, and I paid before following my angry girlfriend outside.
The whole ride was silent. She was looking outside the window, gritting her teeth in anger. Her hands folded into a fist, and they were shaking uncontrollably. I don't know what to say to her or how to calm her down, and I hated that. Sometimes, I wish she could be franker with me. But she is not. She is like me. She doesn't know how to express her feelings.
We finally reached her apartment, and she left without even saying goodbye. All I could do was stare at her disappearing figure. After I made sure that she got inside safely, I drove to my home. As I was driving, my phone lit up, indicating that I had received a message. It was Eliana.
"You couldn't make her happy, detective. Boring," I quickly dialed her number, but it was off.
'What did you do to her, Elaina?' I slammed the wheel.
