"Hello, Luna,"
Luna's pulse quickened as Damian's smooth, suave voice cut through the silence. It was as though her body was bracing for impact, her senses on high alert.
'Could this really be happening? Was Damian really standing before her?'
Luna's mind raced as she wondered if she was hallucinating. But no, Damian was really there. She felt both excitement and fear at the same time.
Her instincts as a werewolf kicked into overdrive. Her mind was racing, telling her to be careful, but her heart was fluttering with anticipation. She knew she had to tread lightly around him, but her growing attraction was becoming harder and harder to ignore.
With a deep breath, Luna asked, "What are you doing here?" Her eyes locked onto his, trying to conceal the tremble in her voice and also read his intentions.
"I came to see you," he replied, his voice like honey, dripping with a seductive edge; his eyes never leaving hers.
Luna couldn't help but feel uneasy. She knew Damian was dangerous, and she had to be careful not to let her guard down, but that was a perfect example of 'easier said than done'.
He was her target but his eyes held a magnetic power, drawing her in closer and closer.
She swallowed hard and replied, "Why?"
"To talk," he said, taking a step closer.
Luna felt her heart pounding in her chest as Damian took a step closer. Her breath hitched as Damian kept taking steps after another, closing the distance between them.
His scent filled her nostrils, a heady mix of leather and musk, sending her senses into overdrive. Luna tried to focus on her weapon, but her grip was slipping. She knew she had to keep her wits about her.
As Damian leaned in closer, Luna's resolve began to crumble. The air between them crackled with tension, and she knew it was only a matter of time before something gave. She knew she shouldn't be tempted by him, but she couldn't help herself.
She couldn't deny the growing attraction between them, even though she knew it was dangerous.
Her eyes went down to his lips, which were full and inviting, like ripe cherries waiting to be plucked. The way his tongue darted out to moisten them only added to their allure, and Luna couldn't help but feel a rush of heat at the sight.
She tried to keep her focus on Damian's eyes, but her senses were overloaded by his closeness. His presence was overwhelming, and Luna struggled to keep her thoughts in order.
The tension in the air was palpable, and Luna felt a rush of adrenaline coursing through her veins. She could sense the predator in Damian, and it made her all the more aware of her own animal instincts.
But just as quickly as he had arrived, Damian disappeared, leaving Luna standing there alone, feeling both confused and disappointed.
Days went by without a word from Damian; no words, no sightings and Luna began to wonder if it had all been in her head. She tried to shake off the feeling that she had been played, but she couldn't help but feel that Damian had been toying with her.
One day, two days and on the third day, Luna found herself drawn back to the place where she had seen Damian. She knew it was foolish, but she couldn't resist the pull.
Her senses were on high alert as she scanned the area, looking for any sign of him. But there was nothing, just the sound of the wind rustling through the trees.
Luna turned to leave realizing how stupid she had been to think she will find him waiting for her when suddenly, she heard a voice behind her.
"I see you've come back for more."
Luna spun around, and there was Damian, leaning casually against a tree, a sly grin on his lips.
She had planned to keep her emotions in check but the more she tried, he more her heart raced. "What do you want?" she asked, trying to keep her voice steady.
"What do I want?" Damian asked, stepping closer.
He walked towards her, closing the distance between them, his voice low and velvety, sending shivers down her spine. "What do I want?" he asked again, his gaze piercing into hers. "No, my dear, the question we should be asking is what do WE want?"
His words hung in the air like a tantalizing promise, and she couldn't help but wonder what he had in mind. With every passing moment, her heart raced faster, threatening to give away the desire she tried so hard to conceal.
Luna's heart skipped a beat as Damian was only few feet from her, his piercing gaze holding her captive. She tried to step back but found her feet rooted to the spot. A surge of electricity shot through her body, leaving her both terrified and exhilarated.
Every fiber of her being was alive with anticipation, waiting for him to unleash a powerful spell. She held her breath, unable to predict what would happen next, knowing deep down she was powerless to resist his charm.
She could feel the heat emanating from his body, and she could smell the scent of his cologne, that mix of leather and musk she knows she won't be forgetting in a lifetime.
She tried to focus on her mission, but her body was betraying her. She felt a strong urge to lean in and let him take her in his arms. But she knew that would be a mistake.
With every ounce of willpower, Luna slowly reached for her dagger, trying to do so as stealthily as possible. As she unsheathed it, she glanced over at Damian, searching for any sign of a reaction. To her surprise, he seemed unfazed, as if he had been expecting her move all along.
"I don't think that's a wise idea, Luna," he said, his voice low and smooth, laced with a hint of amusement.
"You're dangerous," she said, trying to keep her guard up.
"I could say the same about you," he replied, his voice dripping with seduction.
Luna felt her resolve slipping. She knew she had to be strong, but she couldn't resist him. Her body was aching for his touch.
Damian leaned in, his lips hovering just above hers. Luna closed her eyes, unable to resist any longer.
But just as their lips were about to meet, Damian pulled away, leaving Luna standing there, confused and frustrated.
"What do you want from me?" she asked, feeling both angry and vulnerable.
Luna watched as Damian took a step back, his eyes never leaving hers. She was unsure what to make of his sudden retreat.
'Was he playing with her, or was he genuinely here to talk?' Luna took a deep breath, trying to steady her nerves, and waited for him to speak.
"I know it's complicated," Damian said, breaking the silence. "But I came here because I'm also curious. I want to talk to you, Luna, as equals, not enemies."
Luna raised an eyebrow, surprised by his words. She had never assumed that Damian would ever willingly seek out a conversation with her. But there he was, standing before her, his eyes intense and focused.
"Okay," Luna said, trying to sound casual, even though her heart was pounding. "What do you want to talk about?"
Damian's lips curved into a small smile, and Luna couldn't help but notice how attractive he was, despite his dangerous nature. She shook her head, trying to push the thought aside.
"I want to talk about your pack, and my coven" Damian said, his tone serious. "I know we've been at odds for a long time, but the truce still held."
"Yeah, until you killed one of ours." Luna snapped at him.
"About that, your little werewolf was trespassing and well, everything else happened on impulse. But I can assure you, the vampire was punished accordingly." Damian explained.
Luna frowned, unsure if she could trust him. She had heard rumors that Damian was a master manipulator, and she didn't want to fall into his trap.
"Okay," Luna said slowly. "I'm willing to hear you out, but I need to know why you're suddenly interested in talking things out."
Damian's eyes flickered, and for a moment, Luna thought she saw a hint of vulnerability in them. But then he regained his composure, and his expression turned serious.
"I have my reasons," he said cryptically. "But for now, let's just say that I believe that we share something bigger than the both of us."
Luna wasn't completely convinced, but she knew that it was worth exploring. She nodded, and Damian's smile widened.
"Good," he said. "Then let's start by discussing a temporary truce."
She knew it was a risky move, but there was something about Damian that drew her in. She felt a deep connection with him, a bond that she couldn't explain.
As they continued to talk, Luna couldn't decide if what she was doing was right or wrong. One thing is certain, Damian is her mission and her target. She can't deny the invisible bond that's drawing him to her. She just needs to be sure if he was her mate.
