The moon shone brightly on the clearing where the Blood Moon pack had just laid their fallen member to rest. The air was still, and the only sounds were the rustling of leaves and the occasional howl of a distant wolf.
Riley, the Alpha, walked with Luna towards the edge of the clearing, away from the rest of the pack. As they walked, the tension between them was palpable. Luna knew something was off, but she couldn't quite put her finger on it.
"Luna, I've known you for a long time," Riley began, his voice low and serious. "We go way back, and I trust you."
Luna nodded, unsure where this conversation was heading. "I know that, Riley, and I'm grateful for taking me in."
"Are you?" Riley asked, stopping abruptly to face her.
Luna's confusion was evident as she turned to face him. "What do you mean?"
Riley took a deep breath before speaking. "Of all vampires, you chose Damian? You chose the Night Lord. And you decided to leave out that important detail."
