Nov. 19th (Monday)
Noah's POV
I was sitting in my dad's office when my little brother (Chance, he is 18) walked in.
"I see we have both been summoned." He said taking the seat on my right side.
"What did you do to your hair?" I asked because his natural black hair was now light brown.
"Alex (his friend) dared me to dye it so I did." He said.
"You know dad is going to flip his lid." I said and he shrugged his shoulders.
Our dad walked in after that and he stopped in his tracks when he saw Chance.
"It was a dare. Nothing major and I can always dye it back later." Chance said when our dad finally sat down behind his desk.
"At least it's not purple or blue." I said trying to help Chance out.
Our dad gave me a look before shaking his head.
"How is it I have two sons and neither of you have a mate? How am I going to pass on the mantel of being Alpha to either of you without a mate?" Our dad asked in a mad voice.
"To be honest I'm only 18 and have more of a chance of finding mine before this old guy." Chance said before hitting my shoulder.
I shook my head and held my tongue.
"Beta Walker says you have been declining when it comes to your fighting." Our dad said looking at me.
"Bull, I train harder than anyone else." I said almost growling.
"He also mentioned you and your wolf seems to be not on the same page or getting along." He said and I shook my head.
I wonder why?
"We are fine and in sync." I said.
No, we aren't. You let our mate go and refuse to find her. You should tell them we have a mate.
Our dad gave me a look before shaking his head.
"There is another mating party tonight you both will attend. And Noah just so we are clear, you come back without a mate I'm pulling you from active duty and placing you in the kitchen which means no fighting etc." He said before motioning for us to leave.
"Where is the party?" Chance asked as we stood up.
"At the same place as last time and Chance just because you are 18 and young doesn't mean you can keep skipping fighting lessons and your other duties." Our dad said.
"Yes sir." He said then we walked out of the room.
"I can't wait to see you wearing an apron." Chance said smiling at me.
"Shut up." I said before pushing him out of my way so I could leave.
Later on
Shay, Chance, and I arrived at the Harcourt Resort around 8:30. We went directly to the ball room and I got a beer to drink.
"So are you going to try to find your mate?" Shay asked when him and me were sitting at a table an hour later.
I continued to watch Chance talking to some girl with light blonde hair and Shay shook his head.
"You know your dad will make good on his ultimatum." He said.
"Fine, whatever." I said before putting my beer on the table.
"Excuse me, are you familiar with the Colson pack?" I asked as a girl with dark red hair was walking past our table.
The girl stopped and I saw she had to be our age.
"Sure, I'm from the Garrison pack and we are pretty friendly with the Colson pack." She said looking at Shay and me.
"Have you seen the girl they call Defective Colson?" I asked.
Anna's POV
I spent I don't know how long talking to Haley on the phone before finally going inside the resort. I saw Erin (from the Garrison pack and Haley's age) as she stopped at a table with two guys at it. I recognized the guys from the other party as being the ones outside the room I was in. I heard the guy with short black hair ask Erin if she was familiar with the Colson pack. I shook my head since Erin was someone Haley considered a friend and since her dad is the alpha of the Garrison pack, I have met her a lot throughout the years. I didn't catch what Erin said because a group of guys talking really loudly walked past me.
"Have you seen the girl they call Defective Colson?" The guy with short black hair asked Erin as I was almost to where Erin was at.
I stopped walking then the guy with short black hair quickly looked to see me which made his friend and Erin look to see me.
"Anna." Erin said quickly closing the distance between us when she saw the look on my face.
"Don't pay my friend any attention; he sometimes speaks before thinking. I'm Shay and that is Noah, we are from the Blackwell pack." The guy with blonde hair said.
I looked at him then back at Noah and I noticed his eyes were almost completely black.
"Are you okay?" I asked giving Noah a look.
Erin looked at Noah then her eyes got big.
The next thing I knew, a big grey wolf took the place of Noah and he pushed Erin out of the way before grabbing me. That's the last thing I remember before passing out.
Noah's POV
When I was finally able to take back over and get my wolf under control, I was in my room at my dad's house. I looked to see Anna laying in my bed and there was a bite mark on the left side of her neck. I closed my eyes. The door to my room opened then I turned around to see Shay. He quickly shut the door behind him.
"My wolf took over." I said.
"Yeah I know; you marked her Noah, so the mate bonding process has started." He said giving me a look.
"The bite/marking was too much for her and she passed out." He said then I looked back at Anna.
"She is going to hate me." I said.
"She already hated you, Noah; you called her a nickname that you should have never repeated." He said in a mad voice.
"That's the only thing I knew her as." I said matching his tone of voice.
"Well your wolf wasn't letting her get away this time and took matters into his own hands." He said.
My door opened again and I saw it was my dad plus Chance.
"Explain now why there is a girl in your bed with a bite mark marking her on her left neck." My dad said looking at me and pointing at Anna in my bed.
"She's my mate; I found her at the last party, but I let her slip away." I said and he shook her head.
"Then he saw her again at the coffee shop and still let her slip away without talking to her." Shay said.
"My wolf took control and matters out of my hands." I said.
"So the mate bonding process has begun." My dad said.
"On my side, yes, not from her side since she hasn't marked me yet." I said.
"Can she even do that if she hasn't shifted yet or if she doesn't know if she has a wolf?" Chance asked then our dad's eyes got big.
"Her nickname in the Colson pack is Defective Colson which she heard me call her." I said.
"Colson…" Our dad started to say.
"She is the Alpha's daughter." I said finishing his sentence and he shook his head.
"I will have to consult some of the elders of our pack to see what they know about wolves who haven't shifted or felt their wolves before until then she will have her own room and you will not go near her." He said.
"Dad, my wolf…" I started to say.
"Do not let him take control; we need to learn more about her before your wolf tries to seal the bond on your side for you plus you started the process which means she will be in heat soon." He said finishing my sentence and I nodded my head.
"Shay, take her to a room then come tell me what room you put her in but do not under any circumstances tell Noah." He said looking at Shay.
"Yes Alpha." Shay said before walking towards my bed to pick up Anna.
Anna's POV
I woke up in a very strange room. It was completely dark and the bed was softer than my bed plus the smell… it smelled like lilies which was my grandmother's favorite flower, I haven't smelled that since she died when I was 8. My head hurted and the left side of my neck felt different.
"Hello!" I yelled.
The door opened after that and the light turned on. I saw a woman around 55 with dark brown hair with a little bit of grey in it and she had green eyes.
" Hey Anna, how are you feeling?" She asked.
"Where am I?" I asked.
"What's the last thing you remember?" She asked sitting down at the end of the bed.
"Being at the party and seeing a tall, big grey wolf." I said.
"The party was two days ago." She said.
"I've been asleep that long?" I asked.
" I have to get home." I said before trying to get out of bed.
"Your parents know you are here. We have filled them in." She said.
"And where is here?" I asked almost yelling.
" The Blackwell pack house. I am Cecilia Blackwell the Luna of this pack." She said.
My eyes got big then I passed out again.
