ec. 4th (Tuesday)
Anna's POV
I was in my room at this wolf treatment center my parents sent me to in hopes they can help me with my wolf and everything. I was meditating when there was a knock on my door.
"Come in." I said opening my eyes.
I had just stood up when the door opened and I saw Shay plus Noah along with Mrs. Hanson(she helps run the retreat with her husband).
" Your mate and his friend wants to spend time with you. Is that okay? Mr. Lawrence(the therapist) thinks it is a good idea." Mrs. Hanson said.
"I'm here to keep him in check Anna." Shay said as Noah and I stared at each other.
I nodded my head then Mrs. Hanson left and Shay plus Noah walked into the room.
"Not too bad of a room." Shay said looking around before grabbing a chair and sitting down.
" I guess." I said sitting back down on the floor and crossing my legs.
"I mediate too." Noah said sitting on the floor and keeping a lot of space between us.
I just nodded my head.
"I'm not a bad guy. My wolf was just mad at me and lashed out." He said crossing his legs.
"I shouldn't have repeated the nickname I heard you had." He said when I just stared at him.
"Why not? It's the truth and I've learned to live with it." I said.
"You are not defective." He said.
"Then why did you not listen to your wolf and leave him with no choice but to mark me?" I asked pointing to the spot on my left neck.
"Because I was stupid." He said moving a little bit closer to me.
"Don't. Just keep your distance because I don't want another incident to happen." I said moving backwards.
"I have control of my wolf I promise." He said.
"Noah." Shay said in a warning voice.
Oh come on, he's our mate. He said he was sorry.
"I know that look. You found your wolf." Noah said smiling at me.
"Wouldn't be at this place if I didn't." I said.
"What did she say?" He asked.
"That you need to leave. I think it's best if we keep our distance from each other." I said.
I didn't say that. Why are you not listening?
"If that is what you want okay but please give me, give us a chance before you decide to reject me as your mate." He said.
I nodded my head and he smiled before standing up.
They left after that and didn't return at all that week or the next.
Dec.20th (Thursday)
Noah's POV
I was outside on the back porch taking a break and smoking a cigarette when my mom sat down beside me.
"What?" I asked since she had that look on her face that said something was wrong.
"What I am about to tell you is something you will have to keep your wolf in check for." She said.
"Ok." I said.
"Anna's mom called. It appears Anna has gone into heat. So far all the normal stuff has not worked." She said.
"How long?" I asked.
"Since last week." She said.
"Last week and they are just now telling us." I said in a mad voice.
"Noah." She said in a warning voice.
"Why now?" I asked.
Duh, our mate needs us.
"It has been approved for you to visit her alone without Shay." She said.
"Noah, she has to choose. She has to choose to complete the bond process, you cannot let your wolf take that away from her. She has to accept you as her mate." She said.
"She know I am coming?" I asked and she shook her head.
"Her heat is different Noah. We don't know how long it might last or if she chooses to complete the bond process that it will shorten it." She said.
"So be prepared to stay awhile?" I asked and she nodded her head.
"Do not make us regret letting you and her be alone." She said.
"I won't." I said then I stood up and got rid of the cigarette before going inside to pack.
When I got to the treatment place, Mrs. Hanson met me outside as I was getting my stuff out of my car.
"How is she?" I asked as I closed my trunk then I turned to look at her.
"We had to move her; we couldn't have her near the guy werewolves we have here." She said.
"That didn't answer my question; how is she?" I asked.
"Not good; we have tried everything that usually works for wolves during their heat and their mate isn't around etc. but it hasn't worked." She said.
"Take me to her." I said.
"Noah, you need to understand her wolf and her are still getting to know each other. She has only shifted once since being here and that was trigged by extreme emotion. You need to tread carefully with her." She said.
"Can she complete the bonding process?" I asked.
"I honestly don't know like I said she only shifted once and it only lasted like 10 seconds." She said and I nodded my head.
"Follow me; we put her in one of our tiny houses away from everyone else." She said then I followed her towards a brick path.
Anna's POV
I was in the bathroom sitting in the tub full of cold water trying to get this hot feeling to go away when there was a knock on the front door. I slowly got out of the tub and put on a pair of black sweatpants then a dark pink t-shirt. I put my hair in a ponytail and whoever it was knocked on the door two more times before I got near the door. The closer I got to the door, the more I smelled mint leaves which meant Noah was here plus the closer I got the hotter I felt. I opened the door to see Noah and Mrs. Hanson. I leaned against the door to keep from falling down because I was very hot which was making me feel like I was going to faint.
"Thank you Mrs. Hanson. We'll call if we need anything." Noah said pushing his way inside then closing the door after I moved away from the door.
"Why are you here and why do you have a suitcase?" I asked as Noah walked towards the bed then he put his suitcase on it.
"Why do you think?" He asked giving me a look then opening his suitcase.
"No, no get out right now. We aren't completing the process or having sex." I said as tough as I could as a sharp pain went through my whole body causing me to double over.
"And that is your choice. I'm not going to take it away from you but I am going to help you through your heat anyway I can. You are my mate." He said quickly closing the distance and picking me up then sitting me on the bed.
"There's only one bed." I said.
"We'll share it. No problem." He said before taking out some of his clothes then walking towards the closet.
"Where's Shay?" I asked after he got done and he sat down on the bed next to me with his left leg touching my right leg.
"Just me Anna. I've been approved to see you by myself." He said looking at me.
I nodded my head before looking at him. He just stared at me then another sharp pain went through my body. I shook my head before moving my face closer to Noah's face then I kissed him. The kiss was short and he nodded his head after I ended it.
"Why did you do that?" He asked.
"To see if it would help." I said.
"Did it?" He asked.
I nodded my head then he smiled.
"You know they don't tell you how bad your first heat is." I said looking away from him.
"I don't think it gets better Anna." He said.
"Hey, I give you permission to use me however you want to if it helps that is what I am here for." He said slowly touching my chin then turning my face towards him.
"And your wolf?" I asked.
"He is happy I am here and I will keep him in check. Tell me about your wolf." He said keeping his hand under my chin.
"Not much to tell. Still getting use to that voice in my head." I said.
"Yeah it can be annoying. I heard you shifted." He said.
"Just once for like 10 seconds." I said.
"It's a start. What were you thinking about when you shifted?" He asked.
"My sister, Haley, and me. My memories with her and how I can't wait to see her again." I said and he nodded his head.
"My first time was after a fight I had with Chance." He said smiling.
"Are you and him close?" I asked.
"We have our good and bad days. Kind of complete opposites in some ways. He is smart and I'm not as smart." He said.
"You are really hot; did you try a cold bath?" He asked letting go of my chin and feeling my forehead.
"Yeah right before you got here. I thought it helped but it got worse when you showed up." I said before looking away.
I felt something touch the right side of my neck and when it happened again, I realized it was him kissing my neck.
"Let me know if it helps." He said against my skin before kissing my neck again.
I closed my eyes and leaned my head back against the headboard which made him move closer to me.
We need him. Complete the process.
Do not ignore me. We both might be new to each other but don't think I won't try to take over and complete it myself.
Marriage; you want to get married before you complete the process. Then get married now because we will only survive this heat if you complete the process because together you two will be stronger; we will be stronger.
"Noah." I whispered as he started sucking on my neck.
"Yeah sweetheart." He said before sucking on my neck again.
"We need to stop. I need to think." I whispered.
"Ok." He said then I felt him move just a little bit.
"Did it not help?" He asked as I opened my eyes.
"Yeah it helped." I said.
"Then what's the problem? You need relive and I can provide that. Let me help you sweetheart." He said before running a finger down my right cheek.
"Hey, talk to me. What's wrong?" He asked when I didn't say anything and still didn't look at him.
"My wolf wants to complete the bonding process." I said.
He slowly turned my face towards his and left his hand under my chin.
"Not being in sync with your wolf…" He started to say.
"Can lead to consequences yeah I know and she just warned me that she will try to take matters into her own hands if I didn't agree with her." I said looking him in the eyes.
"So she thinks you two can complete the bonding process?" He asked and I nodded my head.
"But yet you still don't want to take that step yet. I get that we got off to a rocky start Anna but I promise you I will show you that I'm not always like that it was a one time screw up because I didn't listen to my wolf and kept letting you get away so he took matters into his own hands to make sure you couldn't get away." He said.
"I want to be married before completing the process." I said then his eyes got a little big.
"Marriage; so you aren't rejecting me, you want to marry me right here and now?" He asked in a shocked voice.
"I don't know Noah. I would much rather be thinking clearly when I decide to marry you not when I'm in heat and there are other things making the choice for me." I said.
"Then we will wait. We will get you through this heat then revisit us getting married and completing the process." He said before kissing my forehead.
I nodded my head.
My heat ended up lasting a week and a half which made us both miss the holidays with our families. As soon as it was over, Noah left and I only stayed at the center for a week after that before going back home.
