Chapter 33 - Chapter 32: Temple - Part 01

Everything was quiet, even in the midst of all the darkness he felt that he was lying down, his senses were slowly returning and he heard the sound of a light breeze beside him along with some birds that were singing.

Before he realized it, he would open his eyes and see that he was in a strange place.

All he saw around him were white walls and pillars of the same color, the place was calm and he felt that he was lying down, but he also felt that he was half sunk somewhere.

As his senses returned, he saw that he was in a kind of large white bathtub, his body was wearing a white and wide gown, making him a little more relaxed.

"What is that?"

He thought as he sat in the bathtub seeing that the water reflected his face, he saw the brown hair slightly behind by the movement of lifting, but as soon as he looked down they soon returned to the front revealing Arthur's face.

Sitting down, he saw that his body was fully recovered, there were no more injuries or bandages, but he was also without clothes and without weapons, except for the necklace attached to the ring that remained on his neck.

His senses gradually returned and he noticed some black strands in his hair, even if it was a subtle difference, it still caught his attention in the midst of that silence that was broken by the movement of the water in the bathtub.

Arthur raised his head and looked around, realizing that he was in a large hall, in the corners there were windows that were covered by white curtains but that moved by the incoming wind.

He continued to observe and noticed other similar bathtubs at a height that he could not see if there were other people there or not, noting that it seemed to be an environment for them.

In an area of that great hall there was a double door the same color as the room with golden handles, in his mind he questioned.

"Where am I?"

Moving his legs, he realized that there was no damage left and he seemed fully recovered, soon he got up from the bathtub making the sound of the water movement become bigger along with the drops falling from his body and clothes.

The weather seemed slightly cold and he noticed a slight warmth emanating from the water, but then he frowned and spoke.

"Christopher!"

He moved out of the bathtub and headed towards the door, on the way he noticed that the other bathtubs were empty and it seemed to be silent enough for his wet steps to echo in the place.

Arriving at the door, he touched the doorknob and pushed it, the door opened and he saw a boy standing against the wall, even looking surprised to see him.

His clothes were also white and looked like a long robe, but a large red sash went around his shoulders with gold embroidery in the shape of a '+' that caught the eye.

He had short, blond hair, his eyes were brown and his appearance was youthful, appearing to be even Arthur's age.

A few moments passed and he saw Arthur leaving the recovered environment, showing a slight smile as he spoke.

"Ah, you are already recovered. Are you all right, Arthur?"

The swordsman was frowning, but hearing his name he questioned.

"How do you know my name? Where am I? Where is Christopher? Do I need to find him?"

"Calm down, don't worry, Christopher is fine, you were very lucky..."

"Luck?"

Arthur looked curious and still confused, but soon the blonde showed a slight smile and pulled away from the wall as he spoke.

"I'm Nathan, can you follow me? I guarantee I will respond."

The path had a green lawn along with some clear stones that formed a path to another room, Arthur looked still doubtfully and then listened.

"You come?"

Having his attention called, Arthur soon turned his sights to the healer who was walking.

With a long sigh, he just decided to follow and followed the blonde's steps rather hastily, until he approached so that they could synchronize their steps.

They were going through other white doors that made the environment look like a tortuous labyrinth, but Natan went calmly as if he already knew all the paths.

As they walked the blonde spoke.

"So, about how you ended up here..."

Soon Arthur had his attention called and he looked at Natan seeming to expect an answer, the blonde just smiled and spoke.

"You're not the talkative type, are you?"

Arthur remained silent and was serious while waiting for the answer, with the confirmation regarding the swordsman's personality, Natan smiled and spoke.

"Well, you were brought here by one of our own, he's not directly from here, but he came straight here with three young men on his griffin. One of them was you, Arthur."

"The others were Christopher and Kaila?"

Nathan looked surprised and still smiling as he confirmed.

"Yes, your friend Christopher told us what happened, they seem to have fallen on hard times and were unlucky to end up finding a cult so soon."

"Wait, first of all, I want to know where the others are, it wasn't just the three of us there. If Christopher said what happened, is he okay?"

"Well, I better show you..."

They came to a brown wooden door, its handles still gilded, but the door seemed wider.

Natan took his two hands to the doorknob and opened the doors revealing an environment that caught Arthur's attention.

When the door was opened, he could see a large red carpet that seemed to make its way through another large hall, different from the floor before, the one in the place seemed to be made of a black stone with white lines, it seemed well cut because the floor was smooth.

Arthur would go to the door and see the rest of the hall, noting large wooden benches positioned throughout the hall, chandeliers on the ceiling and a second floor with other large benches that was positioned to one side of the hall where there was an elevation, seeming even an altar which contained a high table with two large candelabras beside it.

He looked fascinated with the walls painted in a bright yellow and all the colors of the environment that contrasted with the room where he had woken up, Natan was smiling and talking.

"I didn't introduce you correctly, but welcome to the temple of the god of healing, Ciccar."
