The next morning, Cheta and I woke up at the same time, it was like we were in sync,
"Good morning, my love.", Cheta said and kissed me on the forehead
"Good morning baby", I said
Cheta tried to kiss me on my lips and I pulled away, "My breath stinks baby", I said, covering my mouth.
"I don't care, baby", he said, taking my hand from my mouth and kissing me on the lips, then he added, "We should get ready to go to your Mum's house"
"Yes, we should", I said.
I got out of bed after we said our morning prayers. I went to the bathroom and took a bath, and then Cheta went in after me. While he was in the bathroom, I lay on the bed and did nothing, Cheta walked out of the bathroom and was surprised to see me still in my towel.
"Baby, you are still not dressed?", he said
I turned around and looked at him, with a smile on my face, "I was waiting for you to come and dress me up", I said
"Okay? Something I'll love to do", he said and laughed. I got up from the bed and opened up my box, then Cheta went through my box and picked out a dress and matching sandals,
"This should do...and you should use my favourite cologne, the one I bought for you", he said
"Okay, my stylist"
We got ready together. When were done getting dressed, we went downstairs to have breakfast. Cheta and I walked over to the buffet table, picked up our plates and started getting a serving of our breakfast, Cheta picked up the bacon and put it on my plate, "Thank you baby", I said and smiled. When we were done getting our food, we walked over to one of the empty tables in the room and sat down to eat our breakfast.
"Baby, I have booked our flight tickets for tomorrow, it's an early flight", he said, with food in his mouth.
We were done with breakfast and walked outside to get in the car but the car wasn't parked out front and the driver was nowhere to be found, Cheta took out his phone and called his number, at he wasn't picking up, so we went back up to our suite to try and keep calling him. We got upstairs and I called my mum,
"Good morning Mum", I said
"Good morning my baby...are you on your way here?", she asked
"No Mum, not yet. We can't find the driver."
"What do you mean by you can't find the driver? Where did he go to?", she asked me
"I don't know Mum but Cheta is still trying to call him. I'll keep you updated Mum", I said to her
"Okay then, we will talk later", she said and hung up the call.
I turned to Cheta who was still trying the driver's number, "Anything yet baby?", I asked him.
"No, I just spoke with Mum too and she said she is going to try and call him too"
"But where do you think he went to?", I asked him.
"I don't know... this is unusual, " he said, keeping his phone down. I could tell he was very upset and didn't know what to do, but I tried calming him down.
"Baby, you know he probably had a good reason", I said, touching his shoulder lightly
"But he should have told me or even taken his call...Why is he not taking his call?", Cheta said, very upset. I could tell because he had raised his voice.
"I know but I need you to calm down and breath please"
"I'm fine. I'm okay", he said and got up from the bed. He walked out of the room and to the balcony I sat there thinking about what to do next when there was a knock on the door. I got up to get the door and opened it, the driver was standing there,
"Madam, I'm sorry. I go buy fuel(gas/petrol)", he said in pidgin
"Why didn't you tell anybody?", I asked him.
Cheta walks into the room from the balcony, still very upset, he walks to the door, "Where did you go to? You think you can just get up and go out at your own will?"
"Oga na fuel (gas/petrol) I go buy, I no know say my phone dey ring for inside motor", he said again in pidgin
"Why didn't you tell me before you left? You know what, forget about it, get the car ready, we are going out", Cheta said again
"Okay Sir", the driver said and he walked away from the door. Cheta shut the door and went and sat on the bed, still a little upset, I walked over and sat down next to him.
"Are you okay, baby?", I asked him
"Yes... yes, I'm fine. I'm sorry you had to see me like that", he said and took my hand and added, "I'm sorry baby"
"It's fine, I'll call my Mum and let her know we will soon be on our way",
"Okay, baby", he said and let me go.
I took out my phone and called my Mum to tell her that the driver was back and we would soon be on our way to the house, she said that was fine and she was already making lunch, I hung up after we were done talking.20 minutes later, the driver came up to tell us the car was ready, so we went down to the car. Cheta was quiet all through the ride to my family's house, he was still a little upset, but I knew he would feel better by the time we got to the house. We got to the house and Ella was at the door to receive us.
"Good morning Cheta. Good morning Nma", she greeted us as we walked into the house.
"Good morning Ella", Cheta answered
"Good morning...where is Mum?", I asked her
"She is in the kitchen... she is still making lunch"
"Okay, I'll go and meet her there, " I said, leaving her and Cheta in the living room, then I went to meet my Mum. I walked into the kitchen and my Mum was stirring the food in the pot.
"Good morning Mum", I said as I walked into the kitchen
"My baby. Help me with that salt there", she said
I picked up the salt and handed it over to her, she opened it and put some of it in the food, and stirs it.
"Cheta is in the living room?", she asked me
"Yes, he is with Ella"
"I'm sure she is keeping him busy", she said
We laugh. We walked out of the kitchen and into the living room and Cheta and Ella were there arguing about something.
"But I'm telling you that they are real", Cheta said
"I don't believe you", Ella said
"Cheta has finally seen someone with his kind of energy... what are you both arguing about now?", I asked as we walked into the living room.
"Nothing exactly. It's not important", Ella said
"Good morning Mum", Cheta said
"Good morning Cheta", she answered
My Mum sits down on the couch while I sit on the next one with Cheta.
"I heard about the incident with the driver", my Mum said
"Yes, he had gone to get gas and didn't tell anyone", Cheta said.
"That's not right, but I'm sure you handled it?", my Mum asked him
"Yes, I did."
"Ella please can you help me check the food on the stove?", My mum said to Ella
"Okay Mum", she said and walked out of the living room.
"Are you still travelling to Abuja tomorrow?", she asked
"Yes, I have done all the necessary arrangements", Cheta answered
"Okay. I hope you enjoyed your stay here though?", she asked him again
"Yeah, a little. There just wasn't any fun place like we have over in Lagos", he said
"But I warned you before we came here", I said. Ella walks back into the living room, "The food is ready, Mum", she said.
"Okay, you can set the table"
Ella went on to set the table while my Mum served the food in big bowls and I helped her carry them to the dining table. Then we all sat down and had lunch while talking in between. The food was delicious by the way as per usual.
After lunch, we went back to the living room and talked some more, my Mum asked Cheta a few more questions, which as I expected, he answered very well, I could even see my Mum nodding her head, looking satisfied with all his answers. We stayed over at the house with my Mum and my sister till evening and when it started getting late, my Mum suggested that it was best we went back to the hotel.
"You know it's not safe at night here, so you should start heading back to your hotel", she said
"Okay Mum", I said
We walked out of the house with my Mum and my sister Ella, we walked over to the car and Cheta turned and hugged my Mum and said, "It was nice meeting you Mum"
"It was nice meeting you too", she said
I hugged my Mum and I could see her tearing her up a little. My Mum is very emotional, I got that from her too. "I'll call you when we get to the suite.", I said.
"Okay, my baby"
"I'll miss you mama...take care", I said again, then I hugged Ella and we got into the car. We drove out of the compound and I could see my Mum still standing and watching us drive out and I start tearing up, Cheta took my hand.
"We will get her to come to Lagos when we get back", he said and kissed my hand
"Are you serious?", I asked him
"Yes, we would do that"
"Thank you, baby", I said and leaned on him, putting my head on his shoulder.
We drove back to the hotel and after we took our bath, we got in bed and talked about how our day had gone, which was one of our best days. Yes, we love our families that much. We cuddled and slept off in each other's arms. Is it even possible to meet a perfect person? I think I'm beginning to believe that there's a perfect person but don't be deceived, there's no perfect person, there's just a perfect person for you. Cheta is the perfect person for me or so I think.
