Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: I Was Reincarnated in Another World

I Was Reincarnated in Another World

I've grown quite a bit.

I'm about three months old now, I think. Counting has become a bit of a hassle.

Even though it's my own situation, I'm surprised by how fast I've grown as a baby.

When I wake up from a nap, I can tell that my body has grown bigger. Even though I hardly move around, my body demands food.

The cradle I used to sleep in comfortably has become cramped, so I moved to a bed.

A lot has happened in these three months.

Specifically, my maidenly pride has been shattered.

It's obvious that eating leads to the accumulation of waste. I'm not an exception even though I only drink breast milk.

At first, it was okay.

I was hardly ever awake, so I would make a mess while sleeping, and the caretakers would take care of it before I even noticed. I was aware of it, but I avoided thinking about it.

At this point, I didn't really think about what it meant to be a maiden, but my mental health hadn't been affected much yet.

But as I grew older and started being awake for longer periods of time, I couldn't just ignore it anymore.

Of course, I tried to communicate that I needed to go to the bathroom when I felt it coming. But they didn't understand me.

I tried my best to communicate with my limited vocabulary and gestures, but they thought I was just throwing a tantrum. They tried to please me by taking care of me every time I made a fuss. But that wasn't what I wanted.

Babies can't just hold it in. I reached my limit quickly.

Despite my dazed state, the servants who changed me afterward were quick. They changed me without scolding me or forcibly holding me down. I thought it was amazing how they did it so efficiently. It's inevitable that it's embarrassing, but it wasn't uncomfortable.

They wiped my butt carefully with a warm, damp towel, and my maidenly heart was chipped away.

Of course, this happens multiple times a day. My maidenly heart is in critical condition.

But it's okay. As a baby, I don't have a grasp on things yet. So, I won't remember this. I definitely won't remember it...

Anyway.

Thanks to my head being able to stay upright, I was finally certain that I was reincarnated in another world.

This world is dirty.

There's a black haze clinging to everything.

It's impossible in the world I knew.

When I was finally able to move my head, I saw that the same black haze was on my chest and immediately wiped it off.

Fortunately, it disappeared right away when I wiped it.

I didn't want my hands to get dirty, so I tried to wipe it off immediately, but the haze didn't transfer onto my hands. That's good.

From that day on, wiping myself down as much as possible became a daily routine. Cleanliness is important.

It's frustrating that I can't reach every part of my body due to my limited range of motion.

But does no one else care about this? Even my mother and the servants live with dirt on them.

Is this normal in this world?

They seem to clean and do laundry, but for some reason, they don't care about the black haze.

But I won't accept it.

Even though I was born here, I'm Japanese. I can't stand being dirty.

So when someone picks me up, I secretly wipe myself off. Especially around my mother's chest. That's where I put my mouth.

If I could, I'd want to clean the entire room, but I can't do that yet.

I have more reasons now to want to grow up quickly.

As I explore more of this world, I realize that it's not just the dirt and grime that make it so unpleasant. There are dangers lurking everywhere, and I need to be able to defend myself.

The people here seem to possess magical powers, and some of them use them for nefarious purposes. I've seen people being chased and attacked by monsters, and I've witnessed battles between powerful beings that shake the earth beneath my feet.

I know that I'm not ready to face these kinds of threats yet, but I will be one day. I will become strong and skilled, and I will use my abilities to protect myself and those I care about.

Until then, I will continue to observe and learn, taking in as much information as I can about this world and its inhabitants. I may not like everything I see or experience, but I will persevere.

After all, I have a goal in mind, and nothing will stand in my way.
