"What are you doing here," Evelyn raised herself up. She put on a fake smile for Harold.
"I just wanted to check up on you since it is your first night," he replied quickly.
"In the middle of the night?" Evelyn questioned him. She used the blanket to cover her body since she was wearing only a nightgown.
"How old are you anyways," he avoided her question.
Evelyn stared at him suspiciously before answering, "sixteen."
"A young adult!" Harold chuckled.
"If you don't mind, I am very tired, so I would like to go back to sleep," Evelyn awkwardly laughed.
"One second," Harold sat down next to Evelyn. He began, "remember how I told you you can stay for however long?" Evelyn nodded slowly. "Well, there is a slight problem," his voice sounded downtrodden.
"You are not a citizen of the empire, so it will be difficult for me to hide you from the outside, especially since we are in the capital."
Evelyn exclaim in fear. There was no way she could survive outside the walls alone with the monsters.
After Harold noticed her reaction he continued, "it would be so difficult for me to take care you you." Evelyn worried his next words meant she would be kicked out.
Harold sighed and reached for her hair. He twirled Evelyn's black hair in between his fingers. "I can try, but it won't be easy," he looked into Evelyn's eyes and began to lean in. Frozen in fear Evelyn did not move. She silently watched as Harold moved in closer to her.
Centimeters apart from her, he whispered in her ear, "if you agree to be mine, I'll can do anything for you." His warm breath tickled Evelyn, and pulled her out stupor. She shoved Harold's body with her entire force. Her breathing was heavy.
"Please leave." These were the only words she could muster. Of course she knew Harold was exponentially stronger than her small body. She could only pray he would have some semblance of morality to leave.
Unfortunately, reality is cruel.
Harold grabbed Evelyn's wrists and yanked her forward into his embrace. "That's not nice Evelyn. I'm doing you a favor here, so you have to pay up." His voice was cocky and playful.
Evelyn jolted and tried to escape his grasp, but it was impossible. Sensing her probabilities were low, she began to fight back more openly. She hit his chest with her free hand, but Harold responded with laughter. She faced toward the door and screamed with all her might.
"You know I picked this room for a reason right?" Evelyn turned back toward him with piercing eyes. She remembered how this room was located far from the main entrance, and in a corner of the large mansion. The reality set in that she was alone.
This time Evelyn fought back the hardest she could. However, Harold held her down immediately. He pinned her to the soft bed while he stared at her. Just as he was about to lean in, Evelyn slammed her knee into his crotch. Harold bent over reflexively and groaned in pain. Evelyn madly rushed out the door. She heard Harold yell and chase behind. She ran with all her might, but Harold began to close in.
The halls were large and crossed each other like a maze. Evelyn had no clue where she was going. Finally, she turned the corner and saw a dead end. There was a single door at the end of the hall.
'Shit'
Harold appeared behind her.
BOOM
Evelyn's body slammed into the door. She coughed up blood from the blow. Harold angrily approached the girl. Evelyn couldn't move from her spot. She wanted to accept her terrible fate. Feelings of regret only passed her mind.
Suddenly, she felt the door move from her back and swung open. Suddenly, a large sword dug into Harold's chest.

Harold's body collapsed on the floor immediately. He tried to say something, but only coughed up blood. Evelyn turned around shaking. She saw Edward's usual cold expression. He wore the same clothes, only his black hair was more messy.
He stared at Harold's dead body for a few seconds before he turned his gaze down at Evelyn. His dark blue eyes were still with indifference.
Evelyn moved away from his ominous gaze and debated whether to leave without word. However, Edward surprisingly opened his mouth first.
"Why are you weak?" His voice was the same monotone expression except for a slight curiosity. Evelyn's mouth almost dropped open. His question felt more like an insult.
'Plus, is that really the first thing he says to me?'
"Your suppose to be stronger". Edward appeared in front of Evelyn instantly. His eyes inspected her from head to toe. Evelyn shivered at his piercing gaze.
After a few seconds of silence, Edward titled his head. He placed his index finger on Evelyn's head. At first, she felt nothing.
"What are y-" Evelyn was cut off by a surge of pain. A beastly scream rang from her lips
