"Hahaha! Ouch… Hahaha!" Christine's laughter echoed through the dimly lit room as she heard the man's words.
What did that man just say? Seduce that man and then be a spy for him?
Okay, spying might be what she could do, but seducing a human?
How could she seduce her food? Doesn't that sound ridiculous? She, a vampire who takes humans as food, must seduce a human.
Christine didn't know such a cold-looking man could joke like that.
'Wait a minute! Is he trying to seduce me? Isn't there a man in the story who deliberately makes a woman laugh to seduce her?' thought Christine suddenly as the thought crossed her mind.
"Handsome! Let me make this clear for you one more time! I know I'm beautiful, but I can't be your queen!" Christine said in a soft tone trying to give him understanding.
"You don't have to joke around like that, but I really appreciate the effort," she continued, smiling sweetly.
Cassius' lips lifted slightly when he heard what Christine had just said. Actually, how did that woman think?
If he didn't need her for his own good, he would have killed that unscrupulous woman!
"I'm serious."
Cassius's words fell like a sudden icy wind, sending a shiver down Christine's spine. His expression was stern, and his tone was laced with a seriousness that left her taken aback.
The playful smile that had graced her lips moments before vanished as she realized the gravity of his words.
So… he was actually serious? Like really super serious?
"You're serious? You're not kidding?" Christine's voice trembled slightly as she sought confirmation from Cassius. "Come on! You can stop joking around like that," continued Christine trying to look relaxed.
"Hey! Watch your attitude towards His Majesty!" scolded the male servant in annoyance. He couldn't help but to scold that woman after she was being rude to the King.
Christine's surprise was palpable as she struggled to process the events that had just unfolded. The servant looked angry, that means the handsome man really meant what he said, right?
"You actually told me to seduce a human?" Christine's disbelief was evident as she raised her voice. "You are crazy! Those humans are our food and you want me to seduce them?!"
The whole situation seemed like a cruel joke to her, but as she looked around the room, she realized that everyone was dead serious.
Christine's confidence was unwavering as she considered the task at hand. Though she had never attempted to seduce a man before, she knew that she was more than capable of doing so.
After all, many of the men she had encountered in the past had been drawn to her, captivated by her beauty and charm. It was almost too easy for her; all she had to do was smile sweetly, and they were putty in her hands.
It felt good when men did that, saying she was beautiful, and attractive. However, Christine liked it because those men were vampires. There was something about their intense stares and compliments that made her feel desired and powerful.
On the other hand, when humans tried to flirt with her, it was a different story. Their compliments felt almost ticklish, like an annoyance that she couldn't quite shake off.
The food was trying to flirt with her.
She couldn't believe that anyone would expect her to lower herself to that level. Humans were nothing more than a source of nourishment for vampires, and Christine refused to engage with them on any other level.
The idea of pretending to be attracted to one of humans was simply ridiculous.
Christine had seen some humans eat bread, or meat. Can you imagine if bread or meat is flirting with you? It's really ticklish.
Cassius just kept quiet hearing Christine's words. His facial expression still looks cold hearing the woman who shouted at him. To be honest, he was starting to lose his temper at this woman's attitude.
However, he was trying to restrain himself. She would be of use to him, he better not do anything to damage that tool.
"I'm sorry, but I will refuse," Christine finally said, trying to keep her voice steady. "You can find another woman to do that. I'm not interested," she continued.
Cassius' lips twitched into a slight smirk, but there was no warmth in his eyes.
"It seems you have misunderstood. This is not a request. It's an order."
His words sent a chill down Christine's spine. She could feel a cold aura emanating from him, a power that she couldn't fully comprehend. That aura came from a single point, namely the man who claimed to be the King of Vampires.
Cassius then turned to the servant standing behind him, and without the need for him to say what he meant, the servant immediately understood what his Master wanted.
The man then turned to the two men standing behind him and nodded his head, as if giving them an order.
Christine swallowed her saliva as she felt the terrifying pressure. She didn't know how the handsome man did it, but it sent chills down her spine.
Was this the reason he became a vampire king?
"Christine!"
Christine snapped out of her reverie when she heard the male and female voices that sounded so familiar. She immediately turned to the source of the voice and her eyes widened.
"Dad! Mom!" Christine said when she saw them. However, her face immediately turned worried when she saw the state of her parents who were practically not in good condition. Their bodies were covered in bruises, paler than usual, and looked a little thin.
Christine then walked over to them to see their situation up close.
"What happened…"
Christine's words were cut off by the menacing figure of Cassius' servant blocking her path.
"Not so fast!" said the man with a grin on his face.
"Step aside," Christine demanded, her eyes locked with the servant's.
But he stood his ground, a sly grin spreading across his face.
Christine then sighed and took one step to the right so she could pass the man. If the man wouldn't step aside, she could take another path.
However, once again the man quickly moved and blocked Christine's path.
"I'm done asking nicely!" Christine said with an annoyed face. The fangs that she had been hiding earlier came out again, and her fingernails also looked sharper.
She transformed.
With swift movements, Christine tried to pass the man by moving to her left.
Her face immediately smiled with satisfaction when she didn't see the man's body blocking her like before. She is indeed faster when changing to her vampire form.
However, that joy immediately turned to pain when she felt something kick her leg, causing her to kneel down and the next second she felt extreme pain as her long hair was pulled from behind.
"Hey. Don't overdo it!" scolded Cassius when he saw what his servant was doing.
"I understand, Your Majesty!" said the man who was still stepping on the back of Christine's knee so that the woman would not run away from him.
Cassius then walked closer to Christine's parents who were still being held by his servant.
"I told you, right? This is not an order," said Cassius then raised his hand and showed his sharp nails.
"What would you do?!" Christine screamed frantically when she saw the man's grin.
Cassius didn't answer and put his fingers close to Christine's father's neck.
"No! Don't do that! Son of a bitch!" Christine screamed when she saw that and continued to struggle so she could get away from this bastard who stepped on her feet.
Cassius just smiled and then planted his sharp nails slowly. Moans of pain started to escape Christine's father's lips.
"Stop! Please! Stop it!" Christine shouted when she saw fresh blood starting to come out of her father's neck and his wound which was not regenerating at all. Seeing that, Christine was even more convinced that her father must not have been drinking blood for several days.
If Cassius kept on doing that, her father's head would break off immediately and that meant she would lose her father.
Christine was still screaming and struggling. Tears started to stream down her pretty face, begging that bastard to stop what he was doing.
However, Cassius did not stop at all. His face even had a slight smile, as if he was enjoying what he was doing and liked the expression on the face of the woman begging in front of him.
That wasn't what he wanted to hear from Christine.
Christine seemed to realize that there was no use screaming and begging like this.
"FINE! I will seduce that human and be a spy for you!"
