Chapter 10 - What Is Your Relationship With William?

"Queen?" Christine muttered under her breath when she heard that. She knew what the Queen meant, it was the woman accompanying the King.

At first, she thought Cassius wanted to ask her to be his Queen, since the man claimed to be the King of Vampires.

'So this grandma is a Queen? No wonder she looks shiny,' thought Christine looking at the old woman in front of her. The Queen was draped in jewels and clothed in rich fabrics.

"Hey! I asked which family you are from! Not only have you trespassed into Her Majesty The Queen's palace garden, but you have called Her Majesty grandma?! How impolite!" said one of the women, her eyes blazing with anger.

"We must call the guards and imprison this impolite woman!" said the other woman.

"But, what is your relationship with William? Ah I mean, Crown Prince William?" asked Christine ignoring the two noisy old ladies and looking at the Queen.

She really only knew about the King and Queen from the fairy tale book she often read in the past. She didn't understand what a Crown Prince was at all.

The Queen looked confused for a moment, before a smile slowly spread across her face. "William? He is my son," she replied, her voice softening.

Christine's eyes immediately lit up when she heard that.

"Son? So grandma, ah, I mean, the Queen is William's mother?!" said Christine who could not hide her surprise.

The two women glared again when they heard Christine calling the Queen grandma again.

"Hahaha." Suddenly, the Queen started laughing when she heard that.

"It's okay, I'm old enough and it's time to be a grandma," said the Queen with a smile. She then looked at the young woman who had an expression like she was waiting for her answer.

"Yes, I am the one who gave birth to William. So, I am his mother," continued the old woman with a smile.

As Christine listened to the Queen's words, a spark of hope flickered to life inside her.

Christine was very sure because she also listened well to her mother. Although sometimes she doesn't like what her mother says, in the end she obeys her mother.

In that case, wouldn't this be a great opportunity for her?

If William wasn't interested in her, perhaps she could win over his mother instead.

Once the old woman liked her, that woman could tell William that she was actually a good woman, and suited him.

Isn't this the perfect plan?

After all, who better to convince William of her worthiness than the woman who had raised him?

Christine congratulated herself for thinking that up.

Meanwhile, the Queen continued to study Christine intently. There was something about this young woman that intrigued her, something that made her want to know more.

Maybe it was because of the woman's attitude that from the outside it looked brave, but inside she could see that there was a child who was innocent and didn't know anything.

"Your face is a little familiar," she said, squinting slightly as she tried to place where she had seen Christine before.

Yes, she had seen that woman's face before!

The old woman then turned to the ladies-in-waiting who accompanied her on this afternoon's stroll, trying to ask if they had seen the young lady in front of them.

However, the expressions of the two made it clear that they did not recognize the young lady, in fact, they both still looked irritated at her disrespectful attitude.

"Ah!" It seemed the Queen had finally realized who the woman in front of her was.

"Aren't you the woman William was looking for?" asked the Queen, realizing that she saw the woman from the wanted poster made by her son.

"Oh! You know me?" she exclaimed, unable to contain her excitement.

Did William introduce her to the Queen? Look at that man! He acts like he's not interested in her, but he introduces her to his mother!

Ah! Or perhaps the Queen was interested in her first.

"Of course!" replied the Queen with a smile on her face. "So what are you doing here?" asked the old woman confusedly.

"I? I was just walking around enjoying the scenery," Christine explained. "How about we take a walk together?" offered Christine with a smile on her face then immediately positioned herself beside the Queen.

The Queen's two ladies-in-waiting stared at Christine in disbelief, one of them inevitably had to move aside because Christine forced her way in between the Queen.

The Queen flinched when she saw that, then finally smiled at the woman's behavior.

It had been a long time since she had seen anyone dare to act like that towards her, and it felt oddly good.

The four women finally walked together, enjoying the flowers that were blooming as well as the afternoon breeze that hit their faces.

Christine was seen putting out her sweet smile, trying to win over the old lady, and hoping that her plan would work out.

Meanwhile, the Queen was pleased to be accompanied by this young woman who had a cheerful personality. Especially her face that always smiles when that young lady sees the flowers she takes care of by herself.

"How about you join me for tea?" offered the Queen when their afternoon stroll was finished.

"Your Majesty!" said the two ladies-in-waiting when they heard what the Queen had just said.

Along the way, they were already feeling very irritated because it was obvious that this impolite woman was trying so hard to be nice in front of the Queen.

Yet, the Queen even wanted to offer to have tea with her?

Although the Queen has a hobby of drinking tea in the morning and afternoon, only a few people are allowed to have tea with her.

Even when she was in her heyday, the Queen only selected a few women to attend her tea parties. This made the tea party very exclusive and some women wanted to be invited to have tea with her.

However, the Queen had just offered this woman of unknown origin to drink tea together?

They won't allow that!

"You just surprised me!" said the Queen, putting her hand in front of her chest. "It's okay," she continued with a smile, but her tone was firm. As if telling the ladies-in-waiting not to protest anymore.

"So? Would you like to have tea with me?" asked the Queen looking at Christine.

Christine didn't answer right away. Her brain seemed to be thinking.

'Tea? What is that?' Christine thought confusedly. This was the first time she had heard that word.

"You do not want?" asked the Queen when she saw Christine did not answer immediately. Her facial expression looks sad. "I still want to talk to you though."

The two ladies-in-waiting who were with Christine glared when they saw that the young lady did not answer the Queen. Was she seriously refusing Her Majesty the Queen's invitation for tea? Has she gone mad?

Meanwhile, Christine's eyes immediately lit up when she heard what the Queen had just said.

'I still want to chat with you.'

"Of course! I really love tea!" Christine said with a big smile.

She didn't know what tea was, but if it could bring her closer to William's mother. She will love it!
