Within Caromine Institute at the Word Augmenter training facility, Ms Ever Moist was educating Cinder Burn about the fundamentals of successfully manifesting Nounal force. They trained side by side each other mimicking each other's movements. So far, Cinder Burn was grasping a little of the basics.
Nounal Force was quite similar to Natural Verb Force. Both of them were innate elements that stemmed from a certain increase and influx of a Word Master's inherent Letter Force. What separated the two are their structural application. In short, Natural Verb Force mostly involves manifestation around the body while Nounal Force has to do with boosting a weapon's capabilities. Trying to crisscross the two would result in an unstable result of element pronunciation.
"I think I'm getting the hang of it now." Cinder Burn followed each step taught to her by her teacher. While rousing a partial property of her Letter Force, she maintained her focus on the Augmented Weapon. Moments later, she began to identify a peculiar build-up of viridian N's surfacing her stiff Whip of Numbers.
Keeping track of her student's progress, Ms Ever Moist said, "Good job. Keep at it."
"Alright…" Reaching deeper into herself, Cinder Burn drew out more of her latent potential. The viridian N's oscillating her weapon began increasing in size and number. Now they were more pronounced than ever.
"I did it!" Cinder Burn became so elated that it caused her to lose focus, as a result, her invocation of Nounal Force was interrupted. "It's gone."
"Don't look so discouraged child." Ms Ever Moist came along and rested a hand on Cinder Burn's shoulder. "You did well for your first time. Most students who I've thought this method wasn't able to accomplish it as quickly as you did. Now you just have to focus on maintaining the mental barrier. Do this and you'll be able to control Nounal Force as freely as you wish."
"Thank you so much, teacher. I'm very grateful for all that you've done for me."
"It's no biggie. This is my duty as a teacher. Now that you're looking much better, I think it's time I am on my way. Keep on practising at your own pace."
"I will, teacher. See you tomorrow." After wishing Ms Ever Moist goodbye, Cinder Burn got right back to training her Nounal Force; this time with more effort. She was no longer being affected by Red Bull's Loser Eyes enchantment, thus her progression rate increased greatly.
Cinder Burn was a natural-born genius who could adapt well or learn a particular skill very quickly when she was focused. Her flaw was to be jealous of others who could do the same. This was why she hated Dam Son so much. She found his presence quite challenging as he could be her natural rival.
As Cinder Burn trained secluded in the training facility, she got to understand more about Nounal Force origin and Nounal Drive manifestation. She could morph Nounal Force around her weapon as she pleased, even create a barrier at will. What she found difficult was Nounal Drive expression.
Similar to Natural Verb Force, Nounal Force could boost the body's stats by a certain percentage but it was not as effective as Natural Verb Force. Nounal Force became more strengthened when applied to an external object from the body. Nounal Drive is a derivative of Nounal Force. Similar to its counterpart, external objects are boosted drastically. The slight alternate was that it amplified the user's physical prowess according to the potential of their weapon.
Say for instance that a level-1 Word Master possesses a high ranking Augmented Weapon, if she or he is able to apply Nounal Drive then the potential difference would be equated evenly depending on the weapon's attribute. With Nounal Drive in effect, the level-1 Word Master would become on par with a high ranking Word Master for as long as it is maintained.
Usually, beginners found it challenging to maintain their Nounal Drive longer than 10 seconds per every successful interval it was manifested. It usually took years for them to extend it to a minute. However, with only a couple of hours of practice, Cinder Burn was able to extend her Nounal Drive duration to 13 seconds. Still, she found this to be poorly, moreover, something was missing or holding her back.
After a few more tweaks here and there, Cinder Burn discovered that her Nounal Drive wasn't as effective as it should be due to her Augmented Weapon's core compilation. Her Whip of Numbers had a higher affinity with numbers instead of letters and words. Realizing this slight inflexion, Cinder Burn decided to add a unique property from her innate Letter Force to the mix.
Taking another hour to analyse the core semblance of her Hyper Blaze Mode, Cinder Burn was able to create a new derivative of her Nounal Force. The change she came up with was Numeric Force which involved a sizzling amount of countable values to manifest. When applied to her weapon in the form of Numeric Drive, she realized that the potential boost was a lot higher than when she previously utilized Nounal Drive. The effects also lasted longer, about 20 seconds until disappearance. With this newly added power, she was ready to challenge Dam Son and Red Bull again, mostly Dam Son though. Cinder Burn wasn't as obsessed with Red Bull as she was with Dam Son.
Later that evening, Cinder Burn left the training facility to meet up with the other members of her Leaf Widows gang. Together, they left Caromine Institute heading towards the central settlement where activity was most boisterous.
Balloona knew of a good restaurant where they could refill their stomachs. The food wasn't that expensive either. She decided to take her friends there. Along the way, they spotted the Drunken Brats walking down the street soaking wet. "Isn't that Dam Son over there?"
"Where?" The moment she heard his name, Cinder Burn's fighting instinct went on high alert. She searched her eyes around the throng of people until she discovered Dam Son coming down the street. "Tonight is my chance to wipe the shame from my eye."
"Hey, Cinder Burn where are you going? Don't do anything foolish." Balloona tried to prevent Cinder Burn from causing trouble in the public centre but she wouldn't listen.
