Dam Son, Xuan Li and Sugar Bun were on their way to the Tower of Residence to get cleaned up after a hard day of training. They were walking through the streets completely soaked in the nutritious water from the Sea of Verbs.
"Whew, Master Jin really knows how to work us to a tired tail." Sugar Bun sighed. He felt more haggard when he reflected on the arduous training he had just been through.
"At least the geezer gave us a break this time around. It wasn't as hard as the mountain climbing training." Though he was also tired, Xuan Li was excited to have learnt the very basics of manifesting Natural verb Force. "The fish training wasn't all that bad."
"You're only saying that because you've reaped a lot of benefits." Dam Son told him.
"So what if did? Soon I will surpass you Dark-Human, so you better prepare yourself."
"I don't view that as a problem, surpass all you want." Saying this, Dam Son willingly slowed his speed to allow Xuan Li to walk ahead of him.
"Hey, what do you think you're up to? I didn't mean what I said in this context."
"Ha-ha-ha, you two are so funny." Sugar Bun found the entire situation amusing.
"Don't laugh at me!" Xuan Li scowled at Sugar Bun.
As the Drunken Brats ventured closer towards their destination, they were suddenly blocked by an imperious presence. "Stop right there Dam Son!"
"Huh?" Looking ahead, Dam Son saw who was standing in his way. It was Cinder Burn and her loyal followers.
"What do you ladies want with us?" Sugar Bun asked.
"Shut up turtle! This doesn't concern you. My beef is with him." Cinder Burn made clear who her target was. It wasn't Xuan Li nor Sugar Bun but Dam Son.
"What do you want with me?" Dam Son enquired.
"It is time for that rematch you promised me."
"When did I make such a promise?"
"Shut up and come with me! You're not escaping my grasp tonight." Cinder Burn let loose her commanding tongue then turned around and began walking away.
For the sake of not prolonging the argument, Dam Son decided to follow Cinder Burn. "Guys, I'm going to take care of something, I'll be right back."
"What are you talking about, we're coming with you." Sugar Bun and Xuan Li weren't about to miss the imminent battle, thus they followed Dam Son. Balloona and Trish also went along with them.
Cinder Burn led Dam Son to a vast garden close to the central region of Raixom Academy. That area wasn't that populated with students due to the late hour. "This place should be fine."
Squeezing the last drop of liquid out of his apparel, Dam Son asked Cinder Burn, "So how do we do this?"
"We'll do this your way. No Guides included just our raw strength and talents. I will be using my Augmented Weapon, so you can use yours as well." Cinder Burn gestured to Dam Son's sapphire suitcase.
"Oh?" Dam Son didn't make her any wiser that Suit was not an Augmented Weapon but a part of his created existence. "I agree with your terms, shall we get this over with then?"
"Damn right!" From the start, Cinder Burn unleashed her frightening source of Nounal Force which completely encompassed her fierce Whip of Numbers. "Get ready to die!" She dashed towards Dam Son with a velocity of light.
"Suit!" Dam Son tried using his sapphire suitcase to block Cinder Burn's advance, however, he reacted too late. His Suit got knocked out of his grasp, moreover, he was kicked in the stomach and got blown away. He crashed through a thin tree trunk.
Picking himself up from the ground, Dam Son stared at Cinder Burn and said, "Wow, you're more powerful than the last time we fought."
"Stop dawdling! I know you're not using your full strength. Where is that V element that you used to defeat that stinking brat?" Cinder Burn was referring to Dam Son's Natural Verb Force that he used to smash Red Bull's face in.
"For important reasons, I'm not able to use that power at the moment." Dam Son wasn't lying, he was too drained from Jin Hennessy's training to amass even an ounce of Natural Verb Force.
"Stop lying to me!" Cinder Burn became veritably pissed off when she thought that Dam Son was still looking down on her for not using his full power. "I'm going to make you regret doing that."
'Boom!'
Cinder Burn took her strength to another domineering level. Radiant numbers rapidly burst forth from her arms and ate her Whip of Numbers. For the next 20 seconds, her Numeric Drive would be in effect.
"What is that bizarre strength of numbers?" Dam Son became fascinated by Cinder Burn's Numeric Force. He decided to muster his remaining strength just so he could observe more of her power. "Come forth!" Dam Son squeezed out the remnants of his Natural Verb Force; he abandoned his sapphire suitcase to indulge solely in hand to hand combat against his opponent.
Watching the intense battle from the sidelines, Sugar Bun posed a question, "Who do you guys think will win?"
"Isn't it obvious…?" Trish gave her answer first, "Cinder Burn will defiantly win."
"I also agree with you." Said Sugar Bun.
"The Dark-Human will certainly lose." Replied Xuan Li.
"What?" Trish and Balloona were surprised to hear Dam Son's friends saying that he will lose. "Why are you two so confident that he will lose? Shouldn't you two be rooting for your friend?"
"Look at us." Xuan Li gestured to himself and Sugar Bun. "Do you think we became this haggard by sitting around all day long?"
"What do you mean?" Trish was a bit slow on the uptake.
Balloona, on the other hand, understood perfectly what Xuan Li meant. "Dam Son is tired."
"Exactly." Sugar Bun answered, "Right now, Dam Son is pushing himself beyond his limit just to stand toe to toe with that scary Demi-Human chick."
"Then will he be okay if he continues?" Balloona sounded worried about Dam Son's safety.
To answer her question, Xuan Li said, "He's a Dark-Human. I doubt he'll croak so easily."
Back to the ongoing battle taking place in the nightly lit garden, Dam Son was on the defensive trying to find a gap in Cinder Burn's ability. Not being able to cope with it, he eventually asked, "What is that technique of yours called?"
After kicking Dam Son in the face, Cinder Burn answered, "I created it just to smash your face in! I call it Numeric Force."
"That is a fitting name." Said Dam Son upon admiring the spiting numbers oscillating Cinder Burn's complex. "Can I also learn that technique of yours?"
"What?" Cinder Burn was startled to hear this. "Are you serious? Why would I teach the enemy my secrets?"
"But aren't we classmates? Shouldn't we be helping with each other's cultivation?"
"Sorry, but the only thing I'll be teaching you tonight is how to lose!" Cinder Burn found Dam Son's talkative persona annoying, thus decided to shut him up once and for all.
"Static Nine, Multiplication!" Before the last seconds of her Numeric Drive deactivated, Cinder Burn released a slashing technique with her Whip of Numbers that almost physically incapacitate Dam Son. He became vulnerable to a soaring army of lightning 9's for 3 seconds.
After the numerical storm of lightning 9's faded, Cinder Burn was seen standing atop Dam Son's rock hard chest with a boastful aura to her imperious mien. "Not so talkative now are you?" She continued to look down at her defeated opponent with superciliousness in her eyes, yet, "Somehow, I still feel dissatisfied. I guess this feeling will never be settled until I beat him as well." An image of Red Bull flashed into her mind.
