"wake up your Highness! It's morning!"
I woke up a little bit startled by the loud sound coming so suddenly almost making me fall out of my bed. I rub my eyes in an attempt to rub the tiered ness away as well but I noticed instead that my eyes were hurting really badly. It was probably from all the crying yesterday. I still can't believe that my father is forcing me into a marriage I have not approved of. I mean, he could at least have given me an explanation or something.
Anyways, back to the person screaming at me at like six in the morning. When I had finished rubbing my eyes I could still see everything a bit blurry, so it took me a couple of seconds for my eyes to regain focus. It didn't take long, but as soon as I could see I realized that it was William who had screamed at me to wake up.
I am not ready to deal with his annoying bugging all day so I take a firm grip on the edges of the blanket and pull it over my head, trying to hide from my responsibilities. Just as I closed my eyes I could feel the warmth from the blanket being ripped out of my hands. I quickly shot up from my bed ready to attack when I saw William holding the blanket in his hand while glaring at me.
"Your Highness Elvira. We have no time for such nonsense today. We have a lot to get done before the sun goes down." he said. " the cook is getting breakfast ready as we are speaking. So hurry up and get dressed. The King and queen will be joining you downstairs." he was halfway out of my room when I realized that he got into my room even though I locked the door yesterday. Did he break into my room? That's really creepy.
"William!" I scream at him making him stop and turn around to look at me.
"yes your Highness?" he said bowing down. I was quiet for a minute asking myself a second time if I actually should say something about it.
"How did you get into my room?" I asked him staring him straight in the eyes so he wouldn't be able to lie to me.
"didn't you know?" he asked me, making me confused.
"know what?" I asked him trying to hide in my voice that I was really creeped out. Of course, failing miserably.
"Well, The king made copies of your key, along with every other key in the castle in case it was needed." of course he did.
"thank you for telling me," I said dismissing him.
"no problem Your Highness." he then left the room, leaving me alone so I can change into something more "appropriate".
I stand up and lazily walk over to my huge walk-in closet. I have a lot of dresses but today I really felt like wearing my baby blue one. It's probably my favorite one out of all of them. I got it on my 18th birthday and if I'm lucky, it still fits.
~AFTER CHANGING~
I spun in front of the mirror as soon as the dress was on me. It still fits perfectly. When I stood there admiring the dress I felt a shiver go down my spine.
"why is it so cold here?.." I looked around the room till I noticed that the window was still open. I walked up to it and pushed it shut. I then glanced at the desk and I immediately felt like my world was coming to an end.
The letter was gone. My heart dropped to my stomach and it felt like I couldn't breathe.
"No no no no no! This can't be happening. If my father finds it what I wrote about him, I'll be doomed!" I took a deep breath in an attempt to calm myself down.
"It's fine, nobody will connect me back to the letter. They have no way of knowing that I was the one who-" I cut myself off before I was able to keep on going. Because stupid me actually wrote my name on the paper. Now I am definitely doomed!
"Princess Elvira? Is everything alright? We have been waiting for you for a while now." as if it couldn't get any worse, they had to send Natalie to come and get me.
"I'm fine Natalie. I'll be down in a minute" I answered not wanting her to come in and see me in this state.
"Are you sure, Elvira?" I froze for a second. She didn't say, princess or Your Highness. Now I know she is really worried. I kinda feel bad for not telling her but I know if I tell her, Father will probably find a way to force her to tell him and he will lash out at me for ruining his reputation.
"I promise you, I'm fine. Go help the others downstairs. I'm sure they need you for something, okay?" I try to say as politely as possible.
"Alright." her footsteps became harder and harder to hear until they were completely gone.
I let out a sigh of relief. But I still have to figure out what to do with this letter problem. But I guess that will have to wait until after breakfast, the others are probably starting to get impatient with me. I dust off my dress a bit and straighten my back before I finally open the bedroom door, making my way to the dining room.
I walk down the stairs and through the long corridors holding my head up high locking straight forward. I felt all the guard's and maids' eyes on me. They must have heard about this "getting married" thing. The words spread pretty fast around her, don't they? Anyways, I tried to ignore the stairs but I glared kind of angrily at some of them and they immediately went back to work.
I was finally at the end of the corridor which is where the dining room is. Mother and Father are probably wondering where I am, so let's not waste any more time.
I pushed the door open and all eyes were once more on me.
Come on Elvira. Do it for the pancakes!
