Chapter 11 - Chapter 11

“Hello, Rosalie, my name is Marcus.”

Rosalie froze in her spot as she stared at the man in front of her. His presence was suffocating as he stared into her eyes with something she didn’t recognize. She subconsciously took a step back as his children smirked beside him.

“I’m aware of who you are,” she said taking another step back and bumping into another body, starting herself as she looked over her shoulder to see Genesis before Giovanni stepped in front of her, “Good things I hope,” Marcus said ignoring the twins’ presence.

“Define good things,” she said grabbing onto the back of Giovanni’s shirt while Genesis held her waist, “You look just like your mother, how is she?” He asked earning a scoff, “She’s dead,” she nonchalantly responded as his expression dropped.

“I’m sorry-

“Is there a reason why you’re here?” She asked cutting him off causing Cora to glare threatening as she step forward only to be stopped by her father, who sighed, “I heard about the issue you had with your other grandparents and I came to introduce myself and to also inform you that the matter is being taken care of,” he said as she frowned.

“How do you know about that?” Rosalie asked causing Genesis’s grip around her waist to tighten, “I know my ways and I promise something like that wouldn’t happen again,” he said, “Thank you, but what I do here shouldn’t be of your concern, I have my grandfather,” she said earning a chuckle, “You’re just like your father as well,” he said as she glared at him before folding her arms.

“Your daughter owes my grandmother forty supplies worth of herb oil that she destroy, we would appreciate it if she pays her debt,” she said as Marcus glared at his daughter, who grew pale, avoiding her father's glare, while Melody smiled brightly at the sound of Rosalie calling addressing her as her grandmother.

“I assure you that Melody would be given what she deserves,” he said wiping the smile off of Melody’s face as she moved closer to Benjamin earning a malicious smirk from Mateo before his father’s voice wiped it away.

“But in the meantime, an apology should be appropriate, don’t you agree, Rosalie?” Marcus asked as Melody looked towards Mateo’s blank face and Cora’s death-filled glare before she nodded her head, “Yes, I would very much appreciate that, thank you,” Rosalie replied before Cora yelp as Marcus grabbed roughly her by the arm before grabbing her brother at the back of his neck bringing them forward.

“Don’t you have anything to say, son?” Marcus asked as Mateo remained silent, angering his father, causing Marcus to forcefully kick the back of his legs sending him to the floor with a grunt, “DON’T YOU?!” Marcus yelled startling Rosalie as she then looked at Mateo, who slowly looked up at her with clenched jaws while his sister silently cried.

“I’m sorry,” he forced before his father turned to his sister, “Apologies, Cora,” Marcus demanded as Cora looked at Rosalie with angry tears streaming down her face. Cora had taken too long for Marcus’s liking as he pulled harshly towards him, “I said apologize, Cora, or so help me,” he gritted through his teeth before pushing her back in the direction of Rosalie as she sobbed.

“I-I’m sorry,” she said before looking away, “And I think it’s also fair that Giovanni apologizes to my son, what do you think, Ros-

“Fuck your apologies, Marcus, your pathetic son has more where that came from,” he said as Marcus glared at him, “Then I’ll have to deal with you accordingly, Benjamin, Melody, have a good day,” he said before grabbing his children and leaving.

“Are you alright?” Giovanni asked as he turned to check on Rosalie, who sighed, “I’m fine, but why didn’t you just apologize?” She asked as Giovanni scoffed, “I’ll die before ever apologizing to that asshole, I don’t care what Marcus does, I’m not afraid of him, but you should watch your surroundings,” he said before walking away.

Rosalie looked at Melody, who looked back at Benjamin scared and worried as he shook his head.

The presence of Marcus had overwhelmed Rosalie to the point where she just wanted to disappear, so she did. She looked into Genesis’s eyes shook her head and walked away. Melody and Benjamin watched as Rosalie stormed away with sorrow-filled eyes.

“How long has he been here?” Genesis asked as Benjamin sighed, “Thirty minutes before Rosalie showed it,” he replied as Genesis frowned, “What did he want?” He asked as Melody shook her head before hugging herself, “He wanted to meet Rosalie,” she replied in a stressful tone as tears welled in her eye, “Word got out that Javon and Aaliyah’s child is now living in Queensland,” Benjamin said causing Genesis’s jaw to clench before his face softened when he heard Melody’s sniffles.

“Please don’t cry, Mel, I-I’ll go talk to her,” he said as she nodded before Genesis glanced at Benjamin before leaving.

Rosalie entered her room, slamming the door behind her as she stood in the middle of her room with tears rolling down her face. She didn’t know why she was crying, maybe it was the fact that she just met the man that made her parents’ lives hell.

It was him.

And the image of him that she had in her head completely failed her. He was nothing as she had imagined. He wasn’t terrifying tall and muscular, and he didn’t have tattoos or scars. He was an average man, average height, built but not buff physique, dark hair, and brown eyes. From anyone’s perspective, he looked like a normal guy, but his aura gave off an entirely different vibe, he was calm, terrifyingly calm, and talked slowly, but when angered, he erupts and turns into a whole different person.

He was horrifying.

The opening of Rosalie’s window startled her as she watched Genesis climb through, he had a worried look on his face, “What are you doing here?” She asked before drying her face as Genesis frowned at her tears.

“I came to check on you,” he replied, walking closer to her, “I’m fine, I just want to be alone,” she said before Genesis cupped her face, “Listen to me, you’re going to be alright, Gio and I will never let anything happen to you,” he reassured letting Rosalie break down in his arms.

“Why did he do that, why did he have to mention my parents?” She asked as he caresses her hair, softly shushing her, “Because he’s a piece of shit,” he said pulling away just as Rosalie crack a smile before it faded away, “Hey, look, I got you something that might cheer you up,” he said as Rosalie looked at him, “What is it?” She asked, watching as he reached into his pocket before pulling something out.

“This,” he said, showing her the stone he got from the lake. It was surrounded by black rope thread and was attached to a silver chain.

Rosalie gapes at the object hanging from Genesis’s hand before a wide smile appeared on her face, “It’s gorgeous, Genesis,” she complimented earning a lazy smile from Genesis, “You like it?” He asked, “I love it,” she replied, gently touching the stone, “Is this what you want for at the lake?” She asked, “Yeah, I saw it when we jumped off the cliff, I thought you would’ve found it artistic, so I went back for it,” he replied, widening Rosalie’s smile.

“Thank you,” she said, boldly reaching up to kiss his cheek, “Glad to see that you’re feeling better,” he said, painting her cheek pink as his eyes twinkled in amusement.

“Can you put on for me?” She asked, turning around as he nodded before holding her hair up.

Rosalie’s knees weakened as she felt Genesis's feather touch the back of her neck causing her hair to stand up before he placed the chain around her neck and hooked it.

The air thickens all of a sudden as Rosalie slowly lets her hair down before looking over her shoulder and up at Genesis, who looked down at her. His jaw clenched as he looked into Rosalie’s eyes then down to her lips that parted to free her heavy breathing.

Gravity pulled their bodies as Genesis’s front touched her back, and without any distraction, Genesis’s veiny tensed hand reached up and gently grabbed onto Rosalie’s jaw causing her eyes to hood over.

And with a shaky breath, he kissed her.
