Their lips molded together, and fit against one another with stunning perfection. Rosalie had never felt as she did now, exploring the taste of him. Feeling the strength of his arms around her. Inhaling sweat and forest dirt and woodsmoke. His scents. She felt as though she’d found a moment of forever. Like this was how they should’ve always been.
But unfortunately, the moment had ended when Genesis pulled away leaving a string of saliva stretching between their parted lips. They panted unable to process what had just happened, it was different, and although this would’ve been Rosalie’s second kiss, she knew that this wasn’t any normal kiss.
It was gentle but passionate and tense. It was as if they were each other’s breath or each other’s will to see by the way their tongues were desperately caressing against one another. It was out of this world like when she jumped off the cliff, thrilling but deliciously suffocating.
Genesis moved away, looking down with his jaw tightly clenched, “I’m sorry,” he whispered as she turned towards him, “What for?” She asked as he looked at her, eyes hooded over, Adam’s apple bobs as he swallowed, and parted lips freeing a shaking sigh.
“For kissing you,” he replied as she slowly nodded while looking into his eyes, “I shouldn’t have kissed you without your permission, I’m sorry,” he said, “You wanna know something?” Rosalie asked stepping towards him, “What?” He mumbled looking down at her, “That was my second kiss,” she replied as he reached up to touch her cheek, “Second?” He asked, tucking a hair behind her ear.
“Your brother stole my first kiss,” she replied, “And how was this?” He asked, “Wonderful, everything that I imagine my first kiss and all of the kiss to be like,” she replied, leaning in for another kiss, but Genesis sighed, pulling away.
“I heard what you had said to Giovani, Rosalie,” he said as Rosalie looked away before stepping back, “And?” She asked, “And I love my brother, and what you said to him was accurate, but it shouldn’t just apply to him and his actions, I apologize for kissing you,” he said as she nodded.
“Yes, but he didn’t apologize, so it’s different,” she said, “It’s not different when he speaks the truth, we feel something for you, Rosalie, and as you said, we shouldn’t because we don’t know one another, so this,” he said pointing between them, “Can’t ever happen until we’re completely sure about how we truly feel,” he said as she frowned.
“It’s just kissing, what’s wrong with that, we both want this,” she said stepping forward to grab his hand, “And what happens when kissing turns into something more?” He asked as Rosalie looked at him silently, “I don’t want anyone getting hurt when emotions get misinterpreted, and I don’t want anything coming in between my brother and me,” he said stepping back, “That saying is true, sharing is caring, and if you can’t accept the both of us, then you can’t have none of us,” he said leaving Rosalie speechless as her mouth gapes before closing, “I don’t want Giovanni,” she said causing Genesis to shake his head at the jumping sound of her heart.
“I’m sorry Rosalie, but let’s just forget this ever happened,” he said as she frowned, “And how am I supposed to do that?” She asked watching as he walked toward the window, “I don’t know, do what you do best, put it on a canvas and forget,” he said as angry tears filled Rosalie’s eyes.
“Fine, it was a mistake anyway,” she said as Genesis’s jaw clenched before he nodded, “You’re right, it was, I’ll see you around, Rosalie,” he said before climbing out the window and leaving.
The tears welled up in Rosalie’s eyes and finally fell as she stood in front of her window looking at the moon. She was hurt, but she didn’t know why.
Genesis’s presence, his scent, and that kiss were everything to her, she felt complete and secure and this sudden feeling confused and intrigued her.
But also, her telling Genesis that she didn’t want Giovanni caused her to feel this sharp pain in her chest that she ignored but now it was back and more painful causing her to silently sob herself to sleep.

The next morning was silent as Rosalie descended the stairs and walked into the kitchen, “Mel must’ve gone to the market,” she mumbled before finding a note stuck on the kitchen counter.
Rosalie, I’ve gone to the market with your grandfather, who I forced to come with. But the twins should be there to keep you company. We’ll see you soon. Love Mel
Rosalie sighed as she read that the twins were coming over. She wasn’t ready to face them after her discussion with both brothers, it just made things more awkward. Nonetheless, she was relieved that she didn’t have to go to the market.
Sighing heavily, Rosalie crumpled the paper before throwing it away. She was thirsty, she tried clearing her throat but it hurt. All that crying last night took a toll on her throat causing her voice to sound weak and hoarse.
Grabbing a glass to fill with water, Rosalie gulps it down before closing her eyes as the refreshing feeling put her at ease. Sighing heavily before placing the glass on the counter with her back turned to the entrance of the kitchen.
AHEM!
Looking over her shoulder, Rosalie noticed that the twins had arrived but she didn’t have the strength to entertain them right now, so she just turned her head.
’Good morning,” Genesis greeted as Giovanni took a seat at the dining table noticing the sudden tension, “Morning,” Rosalie weakly greeted back before silently walking to the refrigerator.
Genesis had watched Rosalie’s movement With guilt beating against his conscience and like Rosalie, Genesis had arrived home in a sulky mood sparking his brother’s curiosity, but Giovanni refused to question his brother, that alone speak to him.
Before Genesis had left, Melody had begged him and Giovanni to stay with Rosalie as she was terrified of leaving Rosalie on her own, and because of their love for melody, Genesis agreed and passed the message on to his brother, who groaned irritatedly.
Both brothers were against being around Rosalie at the moment as they both had mixed feelings and wanted to sort it out before approaching the girl. But being in her presence right after everything had happened would make things tense and awkward.
“Did you guys eat breakfast?” She asked breaking the silence with her back still turned to them, “No, we came straight here,” Genesis replied, while Giovanni stared at her, “What’s wrong with your voice?” He asked as Rosalie stopped what she was doing before shrugging her shoulders, “I think I might be coming down with a cold,” She replied, before returning to her task.
Genesis turned to his brother with an annoyed look while Giovanni stared blankly right back at him, “I’m heading out, Benjamin wanted me to do some work for him,” Genesis said, stopping Rosalie once again, “But I’m making breakfast,” she softly said, “It’s okay, I’m not hungry,” he said before leaving.
A tear rolled down Rosalie’s face as she heard the door close, but she quickly wiped it away cursing under her breath.
“What was that about?” Giovanni asked as he stood up and walked towards the kitchen counter, “I don’t know what you’re talking about,” she replied, unbothered by his presence, “You and my brother, you look like a depressed couple that had broken up,” he said as Rosalie turned to face him with a blank expression on her face, “Do you have something to say, if not please leave me alone,” she said as Giovanni looked at her before scoffing.
“Don’t tell me that my brother got you in your feelings,” he mocked as Rosalie glared at him, “What did he do that swept you off your feet, huh?” He continued to taunt as tears filled Rosalie’s eyes, “He kissed you, didn’t he? Oh, this is fucking ripe,” he laughed as Rosalie harshly wiped the tears that escaped.
“What’s your problem? Why can’t you just leave me alone?” She snapped stuffing towards him as Giovanni’s face when cold, you’re my problem, ever since you came here things had become uneasy,” he said, “It was so much more peaceful until Javon and Aaliyah’s daughter came to town,” he said as Rosalie began laughing with tears running down her face.
“I didn’t ask to be here, and I didn’t ask my parents to die, but if I’m such a problem, then why do you and your brother keep coming around, do I have to wear a fucking sign on my face, your presence is unwanted, I don’t want you,” she firmly said while staring into his eyes, “And remind me on who wants you again? You’re nothing but a responsibility, a burden, a reminder of who we truly loved and lost, an outsider, so don’t think you’re so special,” he said as Rosalie scoffed before wiping her tears.
“Are you done?” She asked as Giovanni remained silent, “Good, because, along those lines, I was looking for a fuck to give, but I didn’t find one, so you should leave,” she said as Giovanni’s jaw clenched at the sight of her unbothered expression.
“Leave?!” She screamed as Giovanni stormed out of the kitchen before she heard the door opening and then slam, “Fucking asshole, I can’t believe him,” she mumbled before turning back to the breakfast that she was preparing, but she had lost her appetite.
Leaning over the counter, tears filled Rosalie’s eyes as she thought back on Giovanni’s words. The more days that passed, the more convinced Rosalie gets that coming here was a bad idea, a total waste of everyone’s time, but this was the only place she had, so she had to endure its baggage.
Minutes later, the door opened an income Genesis with an annoyed look on his face, “Hey, are you all right?” He asked spotting Rosalie leaning over the counter, “I’m fine, but your brother is a dick,” she said earning a sigh as Genesis rubbed his face, “I’m sorry, I don’t know what’s going on with him,” he said as Rosalie rolled her eyes, “I don’t care, Genesis, and I think you both should stay away from me,” she said looking over her shoulder as Genesis remained silent.
“It’s just all a misunderstanding, Rosie, we mean no harm,” he said earning a laugh, “Whatever helps you sleep at night, Genesis, and my name is Rosalie,” she said as Genesis opened his mouth to talk, “Please, just leave, I don’t need your company, thank you, but I’m fine alone,” she said before walking out the kitchen.
…
Storming through the forest, Genesis immediately picked up his brother’s scent as he walked along a familiar path, and once he arrived at the place that was well-known to the wolves in Queensland, the battle arena, he saw his brother fuming.
“What the hell is your problem, Giovanni?” He asked as Giovanni growled at him, “Now is not the time to have a discussion, brother,” he said in a harsh tone causing Genesis’s face to harden in anger and frustration, “You have some issues that you need to fix, Giovanni, because it’s starting to piss me off,” he said as Giovanni laughed humorlessly, “Oh, did that little bitch send you to talk to me, what are you, my father?” He asked arrogantly as Genesis growled before launching at him.
With one swift punch to the face and kick to the stomach, Giovanni stumbled back with flaring nostrils, hardened expression, dark eyes, and clenching fists.
“Who’s the bitch now?”
