Chapter 12 - Defeating The General

~ Octavius' POV~ _________________________________________________________________________________________________

My chest felt like it was burning as my breaths came out in short pants. This guy was definitely hard to deal with.

I raised my sword again as I rushed forward, flinging the sword to puncture his heart, but he dodged on the left. In that short moment, he raised his left arm up and I felt a powerful force push me away from him.

I went on the defensive side as I crashed, breaking into a wall. My body hurt heavily, but I need to continue fighting, atleast until dawn. We need to make it until dawn. In sunlight, demons would become weak. Orion was an exception. That's probably why they were pissed that Orion didn't join them.

"He gathered an army to stop them from leaving" Orion mind linked me. That guy was insanely crazy.

I pushed away the bricks on top of my body and got up using the support of my sword. Come on get your breath under control. I touched the side of my head as I felt blood leaking down. Shit! No worries, it should heal in a day or so.

"We need to atleast hold him back for a while so that they can escape!" I retorted through the mind link.

In the distance, I saw Orion throw hard punches at the General, but he deflected them with ease. Even if he did get hit, it only hurt him for a moment, and his deformed figure recovered quickly. Orion teleported behind him and tried to slice of his head using his sword, but it was useless. The general decapitated his own head and joined it back again, laughing crazily.

"You idiot! Do you think you can defeat me in this way? You must be insane to think that way. Haha, I can't believe you!" He laughed.

"How did you resurrect?" Orion asked anger evident in his eyes. He had barely broken a sweat even after fighting for so long, while his green eyes glowed a darker shade.

"Tell me something Orion. Why join weaklings like them? Humans are nothing but fleeting beings that disappear within a span of short years. We demons live for so long, we watch time fade and everything around us fade. We only remain by ourselves, so why would side with suck weaklings in your lifetime to protect them? We can do whatever we want the way we want to, so why not us?" The General smiled with red glowing eyes. "I ask you again Orion. Come join us!" He extended his pitch-black arm towards Orion.

I looked at Orion as he seemed to be in some sort of a trance. His green eyes seemed to be subdued and were glowing red.

"It's a trap!"

I rushed towards the General's hand and just before Orion could touch his hand, I sliced his arm off using my powers contained in the sword. A sword was like our vessel for storing powers and using them on others.

"Argh…" The general groaned as he fell backwards. A red coloured jewel fell on the ground along with the General's hand. This must be one of the power stones that can overpower and take control of minds. I stomped on it aggressively, shattering it into small pieces.

"Orion, fucking snap out of it!" I yelled at him.

That seemed to get his attention as the red glow disappeared and his green eyes became visible. "What just happened?" He asked holding his head in his hands.

"You were almost trapped into submission." I replied.

Looking at the ground I saw his arm vanish into thin air. Why did his hand vanish but his body remain? Do I need to use more power?

Wait a second. That smell! I will never forget that smell. Lilacs…

My head turned towards the direction it came from. Lila is bleeding. In the distance, Darius walked towards us with a pale looking Lila in his arms. Tears were streaming down her beautiful face. Her clothes were stained in her own blood. I felt my blood boil at all the blood splattered on her clothes.

"Darius, what the hell just happened?" I asked looking back up at him as all I saw was red. Darius seemed to be in some kind of frenzy. His aura was stronger than ever before. I could feel the flames radiate off his body, however not a single one touched Lila.

His eyes glowed a bright red as he still kept a stoic expression on his face. "Burn in hell!" He exclaimed aggravated.

My head turned behind me towards the General. When did he get closer to me?

He screamed in agony as bright red flames lit his physical body of fire. He bent at his knees and fell on the ground.

I quickly looked at Orion as we nodded in agreement. Reaching out towards the General in a flash, I sliced of his right arm and leg, while Orion took care of his left side. We watched as he screamed in pain and every decapitated body part of his burnt to ashes. In a few seconds, only ashes of him remained. The ashes would disappear as soon as the sunlight came out.

Our job here was done.

I couldn't believe my eyes. Darius just killed the General with only his flames by turning him into a pile of ashes. Even if Orion and I hadn't sliced off his limbs, he would still have turned into ashes, slowly. His powers had become stronger than before. He didn't need to use his sword either.

"Lila!" Orion yelled turning back.

"Is she okay?" I asked concerned following him.

"Yes, she is okay! Just getting some rest." Darius replied, his eyes still glowing a bright red.

"You're still using your powers, Darius." I complained.

He sighed. "Yes, I know. I won't be able to calm down for a while." He spoke hesitantly looking at Lila.

My hand instinctively reached out to wipe her tears gently. I could feel her soft skin beneath my touch.

How much I yearned to have a mate all these years and finally, I have not only one but four mates. It's been a week since we found out we were mates, but I still cannot believe it. Mom would be so happy if she knew. I wonder how she would have interacted with Lila and Mason if they ever met. I'm sure she would have loved her and everyone else. She would have treated them to her special desserts and porridge. I smiled sadly at the thought.

Darius stumbled a little. I reached out to hold Lila in my arms instinctively. As we made skin contact, I felt those familiar sparks flow through me, making me excited and angry at the same time. My gaze fell on her neck as I saw two fang marks that had stopped bleeding. Darius drank her blood.

Orion helped Darius stand as he clutched onto his chest tightly. "Her blood is so strong. It's flowing through me; it feels like my powers and body both got stronger. But it might be too much for my body to handle."

Her blood seems to be potent. Could her blood be the source of her powers, energy manipulation? We need to find that out later.

Orion threw Darius' hand over his shoulder and helped him walk. I looked down at Lila as I held her close to my heart. Her scent felt like it was enveloping all around me, bringing me both warmth and worry. Her face looked so pale as if she was about to die. We need to find Mason.

"Mason, where you at?" I mind linked him.

"Here, in front of you!" He replied. In a few seconds, he came into our view as he rushed towards us.

"Lila, is she okay?" He asked worried as he made an adorable face. He took out a potion upon Orion explaining everything that happened to him. I gently shook Lila to see if she would wake up to drink the potion. To my surprise, she opened those sparkly purple eyes of hers.

"Drink this little one." I gently urged her. Mason raised the bottle up to her lips as she willingly obeyed.

"You are so good. You did a wonderful job little one." I whispered sweet nothings into her ear as she emptied the bottle scrunching up her nose in disgust at the taste. I could only imagine the taste.

After finishing the bottle, she passed out again, cuddling into my chest. My heart skipped a beat at her adorableness. She was so cute and beautiful at the same time. I paused and marvelled at her doll like face and watched how her chest rose and fell as she breathed in and out through small breaths. Her every breathe instilled a sense of calmness inside me.

"Your creepily smiling!" Mason pointed out making me go back to my normal stance. Way to ruin the moment, Mason.

I wanted to punch the guy's face so badly, but I didn't. He had a cute face; it did be a waste to do that. Also, they were both my mates. I love both of them.

"You are the one who's creepier." I joked back.

He kept a hand on his chest while acting like he was sad. I rolled my eyes as Orion opened a portal using the compass and we walked through it.

"Let's go home, little one!" I whispered into her ear as she moaned a little agreeing with me. Adorable!

After reaching home, we found out that Blake and his mates headed home right away when the demon army disappeared to ask for backup. Further, Rose and Yukio were injured badly. Orion felt like he had to report everything he witnessed to the headmaster, so he went ahead after helping Lila change her clothes with his magic. And here we were in the room as Lila was asleep on the bed and Darius laid down next to her, watching her take small breaths.

"Take off your shirt!" Demanded Mason getting his things ready.

I felt my breath hitch as my heart hammered. Dammit, mate bond. I wonder how Orion changes Lila's clothes without seeing her naked.

Nevertheless, I abided by him. I took off the bloody cape and threw it in the hamper across the room followed by my blood-stained shirt.

The scent of arousal filled my nostrils. It was a sweet vanilla scent. I looked at the person it belonged to and smirked. His ears reddened with embarrassment. He knew he was caught ogling at my chest. I cannot not admit it. My body did look good. After all, what is a werewolf without some charm.

"M-move your hand out of the way!" He stammered a little. I couldn't help the laugh escaping my throat. He was so fun to tease sometimes.

He cleaned the small cuts and bruises and applied medicine gently. Every time his finger touched my skin, it felt like it was on fire. I gulped heavily as I felt myself getting hot as well. I was planning on just teasing him, but this guy's reactions and shyness was doing just the opposite. It was literal torture.

After wrapping around my chest with bandages and his eyes darting everywhere but mine, he finished quickly. This mate bond thing was something we were all new at. Sure, we were like best friends before Lila came into our lives and we would have laid down our lives for one another. But after noticing that we were mates, these uncontrollable feelings and urges heightened in between all of us.

"You do realize that these wounds will heal overnight, right?" I cocked a brown at Mason.

"Yes. But a wound is still painful. So, we need to treat it with caution." He rebutted turning on his heel to go away.

"I can smell it all, you both. Please stop! Or else I will have no choice but to join you two as well!" Darius spoke from the bed with both his eyes closed.

Mason paused in his tracks, blushing furiously. "I wish Lila was with me right now. She's the only one who feels for me." He spoke shaking his head from side to side and quickly exiting the room.

I laughed loudly wiping away tears from the corner of my eye.

It was true! They both were like innocent bunnies. Lila was too innocent, but our Mason on the other hand. I did catch him doing some naughty things a few times before.

"What are we going to do with those two?" I casually asked Darius.

I could feel the grin on his face through the dark room. "We corner them into submission."

That guy was one evil one. Oh, the look on their faces when they have no other way out but to obey us, feels great!

After all, Orion, Darius, and I were dominant in nature as we liked being in control, but Mason and Lila, were submissive in nature. We were beasts, while they were our prey, our personal prey.

"So, does that mean I get to mate with you?" I asked Darius getting on his nerves.

I felt him flinch a little on the bed and turn towards Lila. "Shut up!" he replied making me laugh yet again.

"What about you?" He asked making me smirk at him.

"At most, I will let you mark me, that's all!" He laughed joining me.

We did all love each other, but with Darius and Orion, I couldn't imagine us mating, even though we could feel the mating bond. It was overall just awkward. Besides, we were all dominants, so we didn't like to be bossed around. Maybe by Mason and Lila, sometimes, it would be okay.

However, our feelings were different towards Mason and Lila, it made our beasts' side hungry for them, to devour them completely, keeping their body, soul, mind, and heart all for ourselves. This sort of possessiveness and obsessiveness made us feel overprotective of them. Even the thought of it satiated our beasts.

Soon the room fell silent as dawn hit us. I called the butler and told him to put a barrier that lets the room be enveloped in darkness. He did as we told him to do and left crying in tears of happiness knowing that we were all mates. He is sweet sometimes, but other times he's like a grumpy grandfather.

Orion joined us soon with Mason sleeping in his arms.

"Maybe we should put another bed in this room." I mind linked the others.

"Yeah, just do it!" Orion suggested.

He once again called the butler and told him to shift his bed in here and throw away the tables and chairs. Within a few snaps of his fingers, he had teleported everything in its place quietly, without making a single noise that could wake up Mason or Lila.

Orion slept on the couch, while Darius didn't leave Lila's side, holding her hand. I carried Mason to the bed opposite to theirs and gently placed him under the covers. I joined him too, making sure to hold his hand, feeling the sparks as I was engulfed in a peaceful sleep.
