~ Lilac's POV~ _________________________________________________________________________________________________
I woke up to a blinding light peeking through the window. Below which lay Darius and Octavius asleep. Mason's hand was wrapped around my waist as I felt his breath on my head. I tilted my head to see his face, which looked so handsome, that it left me breathless. His hair was tousled but shiny, nevertheless. My hand reached out to caress his hair. I couldn't help the smile on my face. He was so pretty!
"Good morning, angel!" Mason mind linked me, making my heart flutter.
"You are awake!" I exclaimed.
That little liar. He was awake but just pretended to sleep in front of me. I giggled at him as he opened an eye to wink at me.
His arm that was around my waist brought me closer to his body as he kissed my forehead. "Want to sleep for some more time?" He mind linked me.
I shook my head.
"Use your words, sweetheart!"
I just remembered that I could communicate with him telepathically. "No, it's better if we get up now." He let out a breath of air as if he was sad.
I placed my hands on either side of his cheek and mind linked him. "Could we meet up with Rose today?"
His eyes stared in space as he looked lost. Anger swirled in his golden eyes. I know Yukio and Mason weren't on the best of terms, but Rose is my best friend.
"Please?" I pleaded him.
He finally gave in and smiled at me. "Anything for you!"
I smiled warmly at him and reached up to kiss his cheek and watched as his eyes widened at my response.
"Thank you, Mason!" I smiled brightly at him.
He blushed and took my hands away from his cheeks and peppered kisses on both of them, making my heartbeat quicker. He gazed lovingly at me like a little puppy, caressing his face with my hands. Ah, my mind is going crazy. Before I could say he was adorable again, he slowly pulled the covers and extended his hand to help me off the bed. I gladly took it. I turned around to see Orion sprawled out on the bed as he shifted groaning.
We giggled, leaving the others to rest in my room for some more time.
"You can wash up in my room and get ready for the day." He placed his hands on my shoulder and gently pushed me into his room before I could protest. He then closed the door and stayed outside.
I blushed furiously, placing my hands on my cheeks. Why did I kiss him like that? I had no idea, but it felt right to me. I did like Mason.
Slapping my cheeks to get myself awake and out my thoughts, I ran to get ready for the day.
It was currently 9 AM, and we both were having breakfast in the dining area. After I came out of the shower, I realized that my clothes were in my room. Mason mind linked me, saying he placed my clothes on the bed. To my surprise, he had placed my clothes just like he said he would. He also had my underwear placed along with the uniform. I blushed, knowing that Mason saw it all.
Mason had used Darius' washroom, saying that a demon's and werewolf's bathroom were off limits because it smelled weird. I laughed at his sense of humor but made a mental note not to use theirs.
"Why do you want to meet up with Rose, though?" Mason asked me, pulling me out of my thoughts. He put some raspberry jam on his slice of bread.
"Oh, we said we did go to the city today." I replied, reaching out for a piece of bread.
"But the city is in turmoil right now."
"In turmoil?" I questioned, tilting my head.
"Yes. Apparently, there was a demon attack last night. Orion and Darius had left to deal with it."
I gasped, making the piece of bread fall on to my plate. Mason quickly placed a hand on mine. "They are okay. They returned safely. They wouldn't have slept next to us otherwise."
"Oh, okay!" I responded, still unsure.
Were they truly okay? Did they get hurt? Why didn't they wake us up, though?
His eyes showed sincerity. I nodded my head.
"Let's go meet with Rose though, shall we?" He smiled.
We quickly finished our meal and asked the butler to help clean up. I rushed out of the apartment and saw Rose and Yukio standing in the corridor. Upon seeing me, Rose lit up as she waved for at me to hurry up. I ran towards her and hugged her.
"I missed you so much, Rose. Are you alright now?" I asked her, still not leaving the hug. I was told that she had passed out and hit her head, causing a slight concussion.
She excitedly hugged me back. "Of course. I heard from Yukio what you did for me the previous times." She pulled away from the hug and held my hands in hers as her eyes watered. "Thank you very much for saving me twice, Lila." She smiled sweetly at me.
She was so sweet. Without thinking twice, I hugged her once again. "You don't need to thank me, Rose. We are best friends!" I spoke softly as we teared up.
I felt heat burn at my side as I saw Yukio throw floating water-made daggers at Mason, which he carefully avoided. Was he secretly a ninja?
"Yukio, stop!" Rose pulled away from the hug and started scolding him.
"I don't like him!" He whined at her like a little child, to which Rose scolded him.
Mason came over to my side and pulled me by waist closer to him. I smiled awkwardly, looking up at him. "Did you get hurt?"
He scoffed. "Do you think that child could hurt me?" I laughed at his response. He, too, was a child like Yukio. We were the same age after all. But it was funny seeing them both always have a face off whenever they met. I still don't know why they hate each other.
"Lila, unfortunately, we can't go to the city today as it is chaotic out there. Since we have been given fifteen days off, we should take full responsibility for it."
"Yes, I heard about it from Mason. What are the fifteen days off for, though?" I asked, confused.
Yukio folded his hands in front of him and looked away from us. "The headmaster said we should take a few days off after what happened."
"Is this true, Mason?" I asked him bewildered.
Mason rubbed the back of his head, smiling awkwardly. "Yes. He said it did be better for our mental health or something."
Excitement bubbled inside me as I rushed to Rose, holding her hands. "Where should we go then?" I asked her.
She looked shocked for a moment but then replied sadly, "I would love to go with you somewhere, but my parents invited me and my mates to their house for a while. So, I can't see you for a few days."
Oh. "That's okay. You should go visit them; they must be worried." I responded, smiling at her.
She nodded sadly.
"Let's just get going." Yukio hurried Rose as she waved at me to go pack her things.
Soon, Rose and Yukio left with their mates to go visit Rose's parents in the city. She promised to take me with her the next time. We watched as they teleported from the library stairwell.
I sighed. Now, I had nothing to do. Rose has gone to visit her parents.
"Lila..." Mason's voice rang close to my ear. He held my hand in his warm one. "Orion and the others are awake. Shall we go spend the day with them?"
I nodded as we cracked jokes and headed back to our dorm. I was relieved to see Mason next to me. I didn't feel alone as I felt earlier. Is it because he became a part of my family? I wonder.
We opened the door to see three very lazy people having breakfast at 12 PM. We joined them at the table. I decided to eat some cherries while we were at it.
"Lila, did you know? Once, Mason and Octavius had a puppy?" Orion spoke up happily.
"Aww, that's adorable. Can I meet him?" I asked, making a puppy face.
Octavius and Mason blushed, looking at me. "He's in training. He will be here soon."
"What do you mean by 'training'? Like dog training?" I wonder if its like learning to do tricks and disciplining them like we would back in our world.
"You must have heard of magical beasts, right?" Darius asked me.
"Yes."
"Well, magical beasts include puppies as well. When they are younger, they are raised for a few months alongside noble families. Later, when they grow up, they are sent to a place where they can be trained to protect their masters for a year." Darius told us.
I gasped in surprise. "When will he be back then?"
"Any day now." Mason replied happily. I guess he, too, was excited to meet their puppy after a year. Although, he himself was like an adorable puppy whose cheeks I could pull. I giggled at the thought.
"I can't wait to meet him. I love puppies." I smiled, clapping my hands together. Octavius's eyes widened as his ears turned red.
Huh, why did he feel embarrassed?
"Shall we go outside for a walk?" Darius asked, snatching my attention.
"Yup!"
So, here we were on a walk outside in the forest, amongst tall trees that blocked the sunlight. The smell of pine wood invaded my senses, making me feel calm. Some of the sun rays narrowly escaped through the leaves of the tall trees, falling on my skin. It felt so magical to be here, in this moment.
"It's been such a long time since we had a battle!" Octavius stretched out his arms, taking a deep breath in.
"That's true." Darius spoke, yawning. Wait, can vampires walk in the sun so freely? I thought they were nocturnal, but I guess I was wrong as Darius has been outside with us for a long time.
"Shall we battle it out then?" Orion suggested.
All three of them agreed.
Mason sighed and held my hand, urging me to come close to him. "That leaves us together!" He smiled. I giggled as we moved to the side and took a seat, leaning against one of the tall trees. Pinecones were scattered around us. I saw a squirrel run towards one in front of me and climb up the nearest tree it could find.
"I wish we had some popcorn. We could have enjoyed the drama then?" Mason sighed.
"Does it get intense?"
"Oh, very much so!" He smirked. "Darius and Octavius are always at each others throats. While Orion is kind of laid back."
"I see. What about you and I?"
His eyes landed on mine as he grinned slyly. "Do you want to battle with me?"
"N-No. I-I just meant if we were going to join them for battling each other?" I stammered, playing with my fingertips shyly.
I heard a booming laughter, making me look up. "Lila, you innocent sweetheart. What makes you think we could stand a chance against immortals like that, huh?" He grinned at me. "Besides, I would more than love to battle with you in the bedroom."
"In the bedroom? Like a pillow fight?" I asked excitedly.
He laughed so hard that he hunched over, holding on to his stomach. I couldn't believe this guy, I huffed, pouting at him. He leaned forward and kissed my forehead. "Lila, you are so adorable."
"Do not worry. I was just joking. How about this, we have a pillow fight later on? Would that make you happy?" He placed his head on the palm of his hand, looking into my eyes. His golden eyes shined with pure happiness.
"Yes. Whatever you want!" I waved him off, concentrating on the battle at hand.
We watched as the three of them took attacking stances, a little far away from each other.
Orion sighed, "The victor from you two will battle me out!" The other two agreed with him.
"Why does that happen?" I asked.
He looked so pretty leaning against the tree with his legs sprawled out, basking in the fresh air. His eyes shifted from the scene in front of us to mine.
"Well, since Orion is a demon, he is immortal. There is no definitive way to kill him. At most, the enemies can inflict physical harm on him, but that would be all. So, one could say he is the strongest one out of all of us." He paused, placing an arm under his head for better support. "The second strongest would be Darius because..."
"He is a vampire, so his physical wounds heal immediately." I completed his sentence.
He smiled at me, "Precisely. Someone has been learning her lessons well. Good work!" He patted my head, making me feel loved. "Third would be Octavius because he is a werewolf, but his wounds take some time to heal, although he has great strength like the other two."
"The last one would be us in terms of physical strength and healing." I replied seriously.
He nodded his head. "You have learned well from your few days here." He commended me once again, patting my head. It made me feel warm, something I never received when I was back home.
I wrapped my hands around my knees as I pulled my legs together and leaned my head on them, watching the fight unfold.
"You may start now!" Orion announced teleporting on a branch above them to get a better view of them fighting.
Octavius lunged towards Darius to punch him in the face, but Darius moved out of his way quickly as his fist met with air. Darius quickly punched his stomach, but Octavius didn't budge.
I'm sure that must have hurt at least a little, but Octavius showed no signs of being in pain. These people were so strong physically. I could feel the air around them vibrate with the impact and power they used to move around. How fast were they exactly?
Octavius used his other hand to punch Darius' face, but he quickly avoided it, shifting to his right. Darius smirked. "Classic move!" He spoke.
Octavius ceased any movement as he grinned at Darius, whose face quickly dropped. Did something happen?
Darius looked down to see a tiny needle plunged in his stomach. He laughed loudly, pulling out the needle effortlessly.
"Darius, are you alright?" I went to get up, but Mason pulled me on his lap as my body fell on top of his, straddling him. My hands landed on his hard chest.
"Let them be!" He whispered haughtily in my ear. "He's good! See for yourself." His breath made butterflies twirl their wings in my lower tummy.
I looked around to see them both laugh and hug each other. "A sneak attack, that was a good one. Next time, I'll win."
I blushed, looking back at Mason, whose eyes were on me, watching every movement of mine. Now, I was embarrassed, I forgot that they were strong and healed fast.
Mason's hand wrapped around my back as I hugged him, my hands circled around his neck. "Can we stay like this for some time?" He asked.
I melted into his touch, breathing in his scent and hugging him. He was too comfortable. I leaned my head against his shoulder and turned my eyes to see the match continue.
Orion and Octavius were on the field, while Darius sat on a branch on one of the trees. "Are you ready?" He asked as the two people on the field nodded.
Octavius unsheathed his sword as Orion raised a brow at him. "Give it all you have got because I won't hold back."
I gasped. "Are they allowed to use a sword?"
"Usually, no. But since Orion can't die, he is hard to deal with, using only martial attack skills." Mason explained as his body vibrated under me with every word he spoke, sending it straight down to my core. I blushed, leaning into his touch more.
"I think I'm going to take a nap." Mason spoke.
"Oh, okay, I will get off you then!" I went to get up, but he wrapped his hand tighter around me.
"No, stay! You are fine!" He responded.
I giggled and went back to my original position. Soon, I felt Mason's heartbeat steadily as he fell asleep.
Orion and Octavius were surely fighting for a long time, with Octavius lunging to attack him, but Orion deflecting them all. I didn't even know when my eyes closed.
It was such a peaceful day, and staying with them was blissful enough. I felt safe and protected.

~ Mason's POV~ _________________________________________________________________________________________________
I felt myself wake up as I heard the ground beneath me vibrate. I opened my eyes to see Lila sleeping on top of me. Her soft lips were parted slightly as she slept peacefully. My head turned towards the ones who disturbed my sleep angrily.
Orion and Octavius have been at it for a while now. It was almost sunset, and soon it would be completely dark. Darius was yawning perched on the branch, lazily looking at them fight. He seemed to have no interest whatsoever. Octavius was sweating profusely, but Orion had no signs of tiredness whatsoever. He was a demon, after all. What was I even pointing at?
I let out a deep breath of air as my eyes met with Orion's glowing green eyes during their fight. He winked at me as I felt my whole body flush. Lila woke up, and her eyes met with Orion's eyes. She whimpered in my lap, trying to close her legs together, but my legs stopped her. My eyes once again met with Orion's, who was now standing directly in front of us.
"I can smell your arousal, little mate!" Octavius spoke closing in on us, but I was too focused on Orion's eyes that were still glowing. My body once again felt hot.
Damn this demon! He used his powers to get us hot and bothered. I saw a smirk plastered on Orion's face, while his eyes looked at us mischievously.
My fists clenched at the sides as I breathed heavily. My heart beat erratically at a fast pace. I wanted Lila so badly along with the others. Memories of last week flooded my mind as I remember Darius and the others giving me so much pleasure, that it blew my mind. There is only so much I could control. I was a man after all.
Trying to take deep breaths, I tried to calm down, but the burn and desire I felt for her was still there. I opened my eyes to look into hers. "Lila, can I kiss you?" I asked unable to hold back my urges.
Her glossy purple eyes looked at me desperately with pleading eyes in need of release. Her breaths came out in short pants while her face was flushed red. Her hand clutched on my shirt as she tried inhaling deeply to calm herself down. But everywhere she touched my chest, it lit my skin underneath on fire.
My eyes gazed longingly at her soft lips. "Lila, I'll make it go away." I assured her as she whimpered in response.
She gave me a slight nod.
That was all it took for my lips to land on hers.
I kissed her passionately as she froze for a few seconds, but then she kissed me back, melting into the kiss, following my movements. She tasted exquisite, so sweet, like honey. My grip on her waist tightened, holding her in place. I felt my hand trailing her back, across her spine as it reached up to her neck, positioning her for a deeper kiss. She whimpered and moaned in my arms, making me feel things I never felt before. Her bosom pushed against my chest as her tiny hands landed on my chest.
I couldn't let go of her. I wanted more of her.
My sinful lips left hers as they landed on the side of her neck, peppering kisses. She moaned my name, "M-Mason."
Taking the opportunity, I explored every corner of her mouth. So sweet like honey. My tongue danced with hers in a frenzy. I was losing control of my senses, as my mind was only focused on her soft lips.
Only after a few minutes did I let her go, when I realized she couldn't breathe properly. Her body slumped against my chest as I felt her heartbeat faster than ever, as she took in deep breaths.
My senses were hazy as I caught up to my own breath as well. As I was processing my surroundings, my eyes raised up to meet with three other desperate ones. Their eyes glowed in the darkness, smirking evilly at us.
I gulped in fear.
Well, I guess we aren't going to escape from this one.
