They all could feel their faces drop as the doctor spoke. They looked at each other, as if any of them had any idea what the doctor was talking about. It did not sound promising, though.
But before they could even start protesting or asking more questions, the doctor proceeded with his explanation.
"I have to say, your boy is strong. Being as healthy as he is, was the only thing that kept him from the worst. And of course, how fast you found him. You brought him right on time." The doctor grabbed one of Kyle's shoulders and squeezed it. "You did a great job."
Finally, they were all able to breath as the confirmation that Allen was okey arrived. Sighs of relief left their mouths, as they looked back at the doctor with tired expressions.
"Thank you so much, Dr. Tanner." Mrs. Olivier spoke first.
"I merely did my job." The doctor replied with a soft smile on his face. "He's going to need a lot of rest and water. No salty food for now."
