"you look tired kuga… didn't you sleep last night?" Nana asked quizzically as she poured me a second cup of coffee.
"city sickness Nana, reason why I came home".
"what a big place you have here Spooky", said Kogna. "and Kujo?" I asked…
"you got your man Spooky, smart old boy", Kogna replied in between bites of Nana's fat burgers.
"tell me about Ziggy's connections to Felix or Lycan heights, Kogna, because to get to you they had to pass through Ziggy", Kogna gave me a cold stare, he can go against Lycan heights but not Ziggy, for Ziggy made Kogna, priced and groomed him. His first loyalty is to Ziggy.
Knowing this I added, "we are all brothers from the trenches Kogna; no amount of cleaning can wash of the filth we came from, no amount of high society crab can change us, for the street made us, our first school, were the only teacher you have is the experience of the ugly reality of life.
And just because I moved out doesn't mean I still don't have the scars Kogna. I want to know the truth, perhaps for Ziggy own sake, I can't run forever…
I need a meeting with Ziggy and the folks at Wodmax, I am moving all the way in Kogna, is either you're with me all the way or not. And chose now gunman, for it seems we are all living on borrowed time."
Kogna swallowed and looked at me stone face, "Felix is the boss Spooky".
"you mean Ziggy works for Felix?". "where is your brain Spooky? Man, them schools and books screw you, the doc run safari through Ziggy, why do you think all them big boys and girls love to kill time in tha place," he paused.
"but Ziggy is no puppet. Man held his own real good. Hell, he run the show, but this people come like a storm man, they want a piece of every bit of the action, they have enough power that grantee protection you know".
"how much do you know about DedRox, Kogna". "Ziggy never share, the man has his own secrets spooky, just like you get some up your ass."
"is Ziggy aware of the hit on me, Kogna?". "whatcha wanna hear Spooky? But slash didn't know, he was just following my lead, kid is good, I am teaching him the ropes".
"what about momma?". "well spooky, you wasting time acting ninny, everyone out there for themselves now, no more loyalty man, I will surely not expect one from a demm woman."
"how ironic I found women more loyal and honorable than men, Kogna."
"in your world man, my world is different, Spooky."
"well, tell me all you got on Lycan heights." "
"good morning boys, you are up early" Kate greeted and join us at the dining table.
"hope you're adjusting well ma'am?". "actually, first time I forget myself in my sleep like a baby", she replied lively…
Like Ruby, her a mother had a unique presence of her own, she comes like the cold breeze. I could sense Kogna fidgeting on his seat self-consciously… trying very hard not to look at the woman.
"how are you doing Kogna? Thanks for helping us yesterday, we really appreciate it", Kate offered drawing closer to Kogna and shaking hands.
The man had a puky expression on his dubious face. "you are welcome ma'am" he managed awkwardly.
'Spooky, the lady got nerve, she is turning her fear of Kogna against Kogna. Welcome to the club Kate.'
"I am gonna take a walk for a while", Kogna excused. "no, stay Kogna", I said. Something was off, I wanted to know how long the tension will last between this two.
"do you two know each other?", I asked. Kogna shake his head but Kate nodded, "he is the one who killed my man."
The bluntness, and sheer coolness of the woman when she said those words, send a chilly air across the dining area in all four cardinal directions.
The air felt thick, none of us spoke for a while… "I am sorry Kate. How did it happen? Is it by any way linked to why Lycan heights wants you dead."
"no, it happens long before that", she replied levelly. Another sledge hammer on the head.
'damn spooky I could smell the stench.'
"my man was one of the enforcers at Lycan heights, the predecessor of Kogna, and he is not the only one, they are a whole bunch of them, working for the secret empire through the clubs. Seems like he saw things he supposed not to know."
Kate paused and looked at me seriously like a lecturer and her favorite student.
"Lycan heights converts money from the underworld to legit currency on the main stream. They target legit companies that are expanding with high growth potential, push monies to these companies to run ghost projects that never happened, but once the money come through the other end its clean, a gravy train, its recycled back to the underworld were every penny earns ten times higher as compared to mainstream investments.
They have independent banks, big clients, government officials, you name it. you probably already know all that. Anyone who stand in their way in any of those companies they have chosen has to go," Kate ended gloomily, trying to keep her brewing emotions in check.
'this explains the hit on paps, Kuga.' '...right Spooky'.
"why did you do it Kogna, I mean the hit on Kate husband?", I asked and Kate added "Lycan heights claimed they never sanction it, so I have been asking myself the same question".
"that man killed my don, a man from whose hands lots of mouths were depending on. They greenlight your man without words, because they already wanted the man gone. hell, that was my ticket into Lycan heights.
Hell yah lady, my hit on your husband was personal, but it was more than that, they wanted him to retire permanently."
"who was your don Kogna?". "your old boy, Spooky. He was all we got. Man gave we honest jobs and pay well although we were just boys… here comes these folks from Lycan heights trying to take his business…
he didn't want any of it, until the bastards used his own brother to get him, it's a twisted tale spooky." Kogna replied and added, looking at Kate in the eye.
"our world play by different rules lady, no apologies will bring your man back neither, and I carry the burden every day, knowing every breath I take could be my last, cuz I did validate my own death the moment I kill your man....
and now here we all are; running from the same monster. If you ask me, I will say we have no chance against them, there could only be a compromise, and that will cost some spill of blood."
Nana brought more burgers, pie and hot cookies from the oven and served it with hot millet porridge garnish with ginger. The aroma brought back old memories shared in this very same dinning space.
"oh Nana, how I missed your cookies, it goes with everything liquid; porridge, coffee, tea, and beverages." I said, smiling at the old cook in hopes of bringing some fresh air to the oxygen deprived environment we have just created.
"and where is my baby girl?" Nana asked, and we all knew who she was talking about.
The thought of her brought prurient flashbacks in my room the night before, memories I didn't want in my mind around these people.
I felt my manhood stood rigid hard under the dining table.
"are you okay kuga?", Nana asked with concern from across the table. "fine nana, I guess I am still adjusting."
"are you having those cramps again?". "no gramps nana, I am fine".
But who am I kidding, I will not be fine until I have her. I carry her aura with me now, and my longing for her only keeps multiplying.
And that is how I want it, the buildup of unsatisfied sexual energy, so real and vibrant it adds color to everything.
Satisfying this building desire will break the spell. I want to hold on to the suspense as long as I can muster. To dwell in an everlasting state of orgasm.
To reach the peaks without falling over, to harness and cultivate, to retain and circulate the energy through my whole body.
I squeeze the perennial muscles as I exhale, hooking my tongue to the roof of my mouth to mouth the sensual energy from the groin, through the spine and brain to my navel in attempts to cool off of the erection.
"will someone go and fetch her out of that room to this table before this food gets cold," Nana said.
"the stubborn girl wouldn't come out with me Nana, I did try. I don't know what here problem is," Kate replied innocently.
At this, Nana gave me an owl look as she refills Kognas' and kates' plates with cookies…
"no Nana." I shake my head like a recalcitrant child. "yes kuga, I mean on your feet right now!" she ordered, causing Kate and Kogna to exchange fabricated innocent glances.
I knew they were trying not to laugh.
Reluctantly I waited, while Nana packed a tray with assortments of food in varying delicacies befitting for a queen, and shoves it into my hands with a crooked smile.
I took the tray and walked to Ruby's door, fuming. I heard an uproar of laughter from the dinning parlor. Kate was giggling her brains out, while Nana and Kogna followed with chuckles in the background. What took them so long? I wondered.
screw them all, I cursed joyfully. Is this not what having a family is all about?
