Chapter 7 - Chapter 6: The Interview

Sang-Hyun stood by the window in his spacious office, admiring the stunning view of the city skyline. The towering skyscrapers, bustling streets, and lively atmosphere were all a sight to behold. As he gazed out, his eyes drifted towards the entrance of the building, where he saw a figure walking towards it.

He could tell from the way the man was scanning his surroundings that it was Akito Yamamura, the former chef who had caught his attention. A sly grin crept across Sang-Hyun's face as he watched Akito approach the building.

He was curious to see how the young man would fare in the corporate world. Would he be able to handle the pressure and demands of the job? Or would he crumble under the weight of it all?

Sang-Hyun's mind was buzzing with anticipation Whatever the outcome, he knew it would be interesting to see how this recruit would shape up.

Akito's eyes scanned the towering building in front of him, his curiosity piqued by the woman's offer. As he made his way through the revolving doors, he was struck by the vastness of the lobby. It was filled with people, all dressed in sharp suits and ties, rushing about with purpose. Akito couldn't help but feel a bit out of place in his casual attire.

Undeterred, he made his way through the crowd, his gaze wandering up toward the ceiling. The lobby was a grand display of modern architecture, with polished marble floors, sleek metal accents, and an impressive chandelier hanging overhead.

As Akito continued to take in his surroundings, he was approached by the woman who had given him the business card. She greeted him warmly, a smile gracing her lips. her name was Yoo-Mi Yung.

"Ah Yamamura, I've been expecting you!" she exclaimed.

Akito couldn't help but feel a bit taken aback by her enthusiasm

"Oh- Uhm, Yeah!" he stammered, still in awe of the pristine interior.

Yoo-Mi led him through the bustling crowd, taking him to a private elevator at the far end of the lobby.

As they rode up, Yoo-Mi began to explain more about the job opportunity she had for him.

"This is a prestigious company, Yamamura-san," she said, her tone professional. "We only hire the best of the best. But I have a feeling you could be a great addition to our team."

Akito couldn't help but feel a bit flattered. He had never considered himself particularly exceptional, but he was willing to hear her out. As the elevator doors opened to reveal a sleek office floor, he couldn't help but wonder what kind of work he would be doing if he were to take this job.

as she led her through an office, they walked towards a door. she opens it for him and reveals the main office for the manager. there he was sitting down at his chair, his hands on the desk. his eyes stared deep into Akito's soul, there he was, Sang-Hyun.

The woman led Akito through the office, past cubicles filled with busy workers typing away on their keyboards.

The sound of clicking keys and ringing phones filled the air, creating a sense of urgency and importance. As they approached a door at the end of the room, the woman stopped and turned to face Akito.

"Here we are," she said with a warm smile, opening the door and motioning for him to enter.

Akito stepped into the room and found himself face-to-face with Sang-Hyun, who was seated behind a large wooden desk. His piercing gaze bore into Akito's soul, making him feel uneasy.

The room was spacious and elegantly decorated, with shelves of books lining the walls and a large painting hanging above Sang-Hyun's head.

The air smelled of leather and wood, giving off an air of sophistication.

Sang-Hyun leaned back in his chair, steepling his fingers together in front of him. "Ah, Yamamura. I've been expecting you, please take a seat," he said in a calm but authoritative voice.

Akito swallowed nervously, feeling the weight of the man's gaze on him. He couldn't help but wonder what kind of job offer this could be and what Sang-Hyun's true intentions were.

Akito walked forward and took a seat across from Sang-Hyun, feeling the weight of the man's stare on him. The room was silent for a moment, as Sang-Hyun observed him with a scrutinizing eye.

"Alright, shall we begin our interview, Mr. Yamamura?" Sang-Hyun asked him, his voice was masculine and quite manly as he spoke to Akito, Akito looked at him and nodded slightly. Sang-Hyun's lips slowly formed a smile

"First question... Have you ever killed a man before?" Sang-Hyun asked him, a menacing grin on his face. Akito raises one of his brows and he was stuttering to answer him. "I-I mean.. well, yeah.. probably.." he replied back, sweat slowly running over his cheeks.

"Interesting, what's the most painful thing you've ever experienced, physically or emotionally?" Sang-Hyun asked him the second question, Akito's eyes looked around the room as he tried to think.

"Well, I think it would be that time when I got kicked in the balls," he replied back and he fixated his eyes on him, trying to not avoid eye contact.

"of.. that's quite painful, but I'm sure your nuts are alright.. coming up with the third question, Do you enjoy causing pain to others?" Sang-Hyun replied to him, his eyes staring deep into his soul. Akito's brows slowly formed into a frown and stared at him.

"Is this a joke?" Akito asked, his voice quite disappointed thinking he just wasted his time over a fake interview. Sang-Hyun repeated but this time, his voice was a little more menacing and deep. "Do you enjoy causing pain to others?"

"Certainly not, but I enjoy it if they did something bad, I want to see bad people suffer," he replied, Akito's eyes fixated on him.

"Final question, Would you be willing to fight to the death for a large sum of money?" Sang-Hyun asked him, his tone of voice was serious. he was staring at Akito, Akito hesitated for a moment, his mind racing with the possibilities. "How... how much is large exactly?" he finally asked, feeling his heart pounding in his chest.

Sang-Hyun's grin turned into a full-fledged smile. "Two billion dollars, Mr. Yamamura. Would you be willing to fight to the death for that kind of money?" he asked, his eyes glittering with a dangerous light.

"Well, yeah. of course.." Akito replied, his voice and eyes filled with determination. Sang-Hyun looks at him and gives him a small grin.

"Ready for the test, Mr. Yamamura?" Sang-Hyun asked, his voice oozing with a hint of sadistic pleasure. He stood up from his chair and made his way towards the window, stretching his arms and legs.

"Test? What kind of test?" Akito asked, his eyes narrowing in suspicion.

Before he could get an answer, Sang-Hyun swiftly turned around and delivered a powerful back-kick straight to Akito's face. Akito stumbled back, clutching his nose in pain.

"What the hell was that for?!" he yelled, blood trickling down his face.

Sang-Hyun just grinned in response, a look of sadistic glee in his eyes. "Consider it the first round of our little test," he said.

Without warning, Sang-Hyun launched another attack, this time a roundhouse kick aimed at Akito's head. But Akito managed to block the attack just in time and swiftly dodged another one.

Sang-Hyun's smile grew wider, clearly enjoying the fight. "Not bad, Mr. Yamamura," he said, circling around Akito like a predator stalking its prey. "But let's see if you can keep up."
